I'm going to be delving in to that world of carbs soon enough. Won't be a Toyota this time but that's for another time 🙂
You know what it wasn't too bad on Tuesday, but it's turned today so I expect it to be a bit colder. But once I start working I just sweat and get too hot anyway even in sub-zero weather so I won't be too fussed! Everything's good man I hope you're good and had a good christmas etc too!
Hi Dave,
I have to say that I'm with Steve ( @WoldsMotorsportEngineering ) on this one. The bolts on my Aygo Fire were looking a bit scruffy and so I gave then bolt heads a good thrashing with a wire brush, followed by a thin coat of "Kurust" and then a top coat of silver enamel paint. I used a little tin of "Humbrol" silver (The paint we used to use for Airfix kits.....I'm probably showing my age there! ) although if you have a can of silver hammerite knocking about, it'll have the same result.
I finished the job off with some black bolt covers in the 17 mm size from Amazon:

You can't go wrong for £1.19 with free delivery but you do have to wait about 3 weeks for them to arrive from China. I chose the black to contrast with my silver alloys and they look pretty good, they are also good quality even though the locking nut cover won't fit over my Toyota locking bolts but just remember to take them off before your car goes in for a service as your garage might lose them.
Another idea whilst you have the back wheels off is to carefully paint the rear brake drums with some black Hammerite or VHT paint as they can start to look uncared for and let the rest of your car down.
It's not really the weather for jobs like this just yet.....But it'll soon be Spring!
All the best.
Nice to see you still up for it......
I'm amassing bits for a carb tune up + replacing all the skinny vac piping, in RED 😜
Got a Vac gauge so I can tune 'on the drop', of Hg.
Keep jogging on, m8

Hi,
Don't actually see any difference on ECP site other than one is 255 and the other is 254, then the rear one.
Think yours should be the same as mine 255mm x 25mm, have used those Bremtech , seem fine for normal motoring.
Hi,
You can measure them to be sure, but have a look at this site and enter your details, have used their discs etc a couple of times.
When the wheel is off, take a look on the caliper body to see a stamp mark saying what type they are , eg Lucas/TRW or Aisin
You don't mention what the cc/ petrol./diesel ?
