  1. Thanks @Mike169 - I'll ask them who they're supplier is - I'm thinking it's just new - old stock they haven't shifted. The place is a genuine auto parts place......small though.... Wyn

  2. Toyota Celica 25th Anniversary 1997 model (failed MOT) mentioned in yesterday’s post for anyone who was interested in spare parts etc. This is no longer available, it was collected today at 2pm. Bob

  3. This must have been a long standing niggle otherwise why would the previous owner have gone to the expense of having all 4 wheels tracking checked. I do not think there is any magic, quick fix only what you plan to systematically check steering joints etc. Good luck with it as it sounds a lovely low mileage Avensis. My 08 T25 auto has done 80k and is excellent apart from the poor headlights which is a well know issue.

  4. Hi, Changed the clutch on my old Corolla by myself but only because I used on of these engine beams to support the weight of the engine and to aid lowering and raising the gearbox. They were about £80 from the big named shops but half that on the ebay and seem strong enough. Be careful where you buy your clutch kit from, low quality forgeries of the big brand names are common place on the usual sites , so if your B&B price seems too good, check with their site as some of the big names tell you how to check if you have bought a clone. other good brands, Luk, Blueprint etc. clutch details(1).pdf

  5. It’s a two position switch. When you pull it up, to close, or push it down, to open, you will feel a slight click. So to open partially, press down gently and the window will open. When it’s opened as far as you want, release the button and the window will stop moving. If you push it down through the click and release it will open all the way. This obviously works in reverse to close the window.

  6. I wouldn't be surprised if once that settles down there isn't a move to make all older cars have it retro fitted. IIRC that happened with screen washers in the 1960s, and is happening again with EVs, Hybrids and very quiet cars and the forthcoming noise generator that all new cars will have to have fitted fairly soon. I believe in 2021 or maybe 2022 all existing cars below the noise threshold will have to have noise generators fitted too.
