  1. I ordered my 2019 RAV4 AWD in February and quoted May/June. Last week Toyota customer services said it was on a Vehicle Carrier ship heading for the UK with the port arrival as 23rd/24th May. The RAV4 I believe is manufactured in Nagoya in Japan, so looking at the shipping tracking sites there is a vehicle transport ship coming from Nagoya to Avonmouth, which is where Toyotas land in the UK, via Barcelona. The ship is the Altair Leader and is currently passing southern Spain heading to the Staights of Gibraltar. https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-5.9/centery:36.4/zoom:9 Enter Altair Leader in the search box Or http://alltrack.org/9539171-432817000-vessel-altair-leader-tracking Once it arrives at the the UK port the cars go to the Toyota area and have any packages fitted that are installed at the port such as the Protection Pack, then transported to the dealers, by road I assume.

  2. Hi guys it's my first post here, so please tell me about any mistakes I made in the post. I just got my driver's license, and my dad is willing to share or even allow me to own one of his cars, one of them being a 1991 Corolla Levin SJ manual (AE101). However, he hasn't renewed the registration for the car for nearly 4 years, and there are quite a number of problems with it. I would really want to restore the car myself. Does anyone have recommendations on performance upgrades for the car, namely suspension components, strut bars, brakes and maybe even a turbo kit if possible. Thanks!

  4. If the ECU receives an airflow signal that is not credible (i.e. outside of expected normal range) then it will ignore the reading and use a substitute value based on RPM and throttle position. This keeps the car running. Very often a faulty airflow meter will give a credible but incorrect reading. The ECU will use the value and the car will run poorly. Often it will run better with the faulty airflow meter disconnect - although with poorer acceleration. The airflow meter is used mainly to control fuelling during transient conditions. Before playing 'parts darts' you'd be best to get some diagnostic software and a lead to get some diagnostic data off the car - either a cheap OBDII reader or a version of Toyota Techstream (check out ebay). There are literally 1001 things that could throw out your emissions..

  5. 👍 Give it a go in that CIG (fuse no. 15) supply, it is ignition switched. Retain the existing 15A for the accessory socket and use a smaller fuse for the dashcam "piggyback".- say the 5A which you are using. That's assuming you've used the original 5A and another 5A to supply the camera?

  7. Toyota garages seem to make a point of being fairly competitive on tyre prices, it's certainly worth getting a quote from them beforehand. The brake fluid change requires the brakes to be attached to a diagnostic computer whilst bleeding to get a proper flush, on account of this, it is not the easy DIY task it might otherwise be, and costs more than a 'normal' car when done at the Toyota dealer. See this thread for some useful input on changing plugs on these cars:- Or this one:-
