  1. Thank you guys for your support, it proves that they’re are still people out there who care. Update, had our AA brake down come over this afternoon, tested the entire charging system...I had to persuade him as initially he confirmed that it was just the battery that had depleted and simply needed a recharge...alternator absolutely fine...battery as good as new he reported...and he recommended that we start the car at least once a week for 30 minutes to maintain battery charge...he also recommended that we remove all hardwiring for the dash cam install and install a new 15amp fuse in re.the cig as it may be faulty...he commented that the majority of his call outs for vehicles not starting was due to dash cams wired in that drain the battery. So that’s what we did...ran the vehicle for 2hrs this afternoon...starts up fine now...pretty powerful infact...and removed all the hard wiring and replaced fuse. So far so good. However, we have decided to invest in a battery jump starter...we think it’s an investment SO LONG AS IT IS USED CORRECT i.e + to + and - to -, there are some horror vids on YouTube re.such issues. Decided on this model here, with my sons trade discount I think it comes in at 135.00. https://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/battery-chargers-jump-starters/gb70-2000a-noco-jump-starter

  2. Something I’m over the moon about but I’ve never seen mentioned in reviews or Toyota info, is that you can play videos from a USB on the screen. Paid extra for this ability on my previous 2 Skoda Octavia’s and just assumed it wasn’t a thing with this car. The display turns off obviously when not in Park, but it’s good if your parked up somewhere waiting for someone or munching on a cheeky drive thru then you can watch. I find it good for long journeys on my own where I can listen to tv programs I’ve seen a thousand times and don’t need to watch to know what’s going on. 90’s BBC comedies like One Foot in the Grave, Porridge, Open All Hours, Red Dwarf, that kind of thing. Amazing how time flies when ‘watching’ tele

  5. RS seats re-upholstered (alcantara) and heated and fitted to Auris. Currently the plan is to install all the face lift parts. That means: 1) steering wheel 2) Instrument cluster 3) hood, front bumper and headlights 4) side mirrors 5) rear bumper with dual exhaust skirt and taillights 6) center console with armrest and handbrake lever All advise and tips if someone has already done any of the above is welcome!

  7. Hi Mick, Re your knocking, could be the door hinges or the pin that holds the strap in, if used. ? Bit scary if your first mot station did not find a brake fluid leak, though could that have happened as a result of you driving around since that test. Fitted Pioneers speakers in mine, such an improvement I did not need to change the head unit. Mine came with separate tweeters which I mounted in the wing mirror access covers, really lifts the soundstage.
