  1. Thats a good point Ziga, well thought out. Its the same in the UK, there are cars popular for thieving, so keep away from them. The Prius is not considered a fast car, so thieves after quick get away cars are not interested. My Prius is in Hypersonic Red, not a common car, so can easily be spotted. I got it because I liked the colour.

  3. Update: as im waiting i started thinking: Yaris is most popular Toyota in my country i even se quite a few Hybrid Yarises on road from time to time if car is popular so its more chances of being stolen for parts or sale in other country, but on the other hand Prius is unpopular here so there may be safer as car itself is unpopular plus it has unique look so it can be spoted fast. Currently there are no priuses reported stolen while 30 Yaris-es are reported stolen whats your take on this?

  5. The majority of brake discs these days are made in China, regardless of the name on them. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't the same for pads. European legislation ECE R90 is there to ensure that the pads are as good as or better than the original equipment. Any new pads supplied in Britain must have E11 in a circle stamped on the back. If I'm fitting new discs, I try to fit pads from the same manufacturer but, if I can't get a brand match I'm happy to fit any of the other known brands. Discs from Quinten Hazel, Mintex, Bendix, Comline, Juratek, Borg & Beck, Blue Print, Motaquip etc are all excellent brands and they all have matching pads.

  6. There are no equivalents to RDS-TA announcements or TMC on DAB in the UK. Neither Touch or Touch 2 have RDS-TAs cut in on DAB & apparently from you the MM17 version doesn't either (so that's basically for 7 years +), the Aygo does because it comes from a different oem (Pioneer) & I am fairly certain because that is one of PSA's areas of responsibility for the Aygo/108/C1 rather than Toyota. If you have "with Go" (as you apparently do) you can get Tomtom traffic by internet by linking via your phone which I find better than the broadcast TAs. Don't know if Touch 2 on it's own can get that.

  7. Hi, yes Brembo discs because of the new rust proof coating and ebc ultimax pads because of their stopping properties and low dust, also they have special red abrasive paint coating to help with bed in process. Brake discs doesn’t need to be same brand as pads, as long as they are not some Chinese knock offs and are installed properly, any brand you use you will be fine. Problems with discs in most cases comes after poor workmanship during installation not because of the brand or price. Pads are most important and they should have a funny smell when box is opened, this smell will indicate if they are quality one or not. Also buying an EBC pads for normal driving , do not buy any different from Ultimax , they have some colourful series that are specifically made for racing cars and require to be heated up to have a good stopping power. Here some examples of both discs and pads: Brembo 09.A417.11 Front Brake Disc - Set of 2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DZP2906/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_y9CkDb0HVVHVP https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F111504163984 this is a front set for Auris Hybrid, Prius Plus, RAV4

  8. What you have there is known in the industry as 'creep-groan'. Its a low-frequency high-intensity self-excited oscillation of the pad-disc system. Its due to stick-slip between the pad and disc and depends on the pad/disc characteristics. It is a very common phenomenon and not a defect. You may find that as the pads bed-in and glaze slightly the noise will diminish. Don't worry about it.

  10. I've never torqued a caliper bolt, just double check that they are tight. I don't bother with loctite either but if they have any sign of Loctite when you remove them, you might want to put them back in the same way.
