  2. I am absolutely amazed at the true MPG of my 2020 Corolla Hybrid (Canada). My 3rd tank today yielded 60.92 mpg. It was 52.5 mpg at my last fill. This week I was commuting for 4 days to my 2nd job which is a 90km Highway round-trip, mostly flat. I love this car!!!!!!

  3. Well, we've done it again. She's got anothher years lease of life by passing the MOT monday just gone. It took a bit more work than expected including welding both outer sills, new rear caliper, brake hose, brake pipe - obviously the one that requires the petrol tank dropped - discs, pads, handbrake cable, exhaust, tyres to mention a few but again we're legal 😉😉

  6. Your way is much easier than my way, I ordered the arm and the cap did not fit. I needed a impact wrench to get the nut off, then I used a wiper pulley....so you can install a cheap jap rear arm onto a French yaris though it is a bit nosy.

  8. eBay, I think. I used frequent the Fiat Forum - not been on it for a couple of years - and I had a thread on there about it. I could look at our eBay account past orders, and maybe check out the Fiat Forum. I'll get back to this later. Mick.

  9. I've been using Wonder Wheels for a while now with good results. I think there are two types - mine is the one which doesn't turn purple (although I'd imagine both to work similarly well). Like Mick's product, you apply and leave for a few mins and wash off. Easy to apply with a small brush or a spray bottle. It takes most if the crap off itself but for a perfect finish I usually also use a wheel brush to agitate. Apply to all 4 wheels, agitate/brush all 4 wheels, power wash off - job done. I've used it on diamond cut/painted wheels and alloys with no problems.

  11. HI There are 2 different types, one for the Jap built Yaris and another for the French build. You appear to have the wrong type .

  12. On the PHV and the facelift Gen4 I would agree that there is indeed no reason to go for 17s, because the 15" wheel designs on both of those are cleverly designed to make the wheels look bigger. However, on the original Gen4 the all-silver 15s made some people think it looked underwheeled, like a shopping trolley. I always thought the original Gen4 on 17s was an unexpectedly stylish thing from some angles (especially in Tyrol Silver) whereas to me it looked gawky all round on 15s. For some people, looks are important. We all have different tastes and priorities. I personally couldn't give a monkeys about a spare wheel or a space saver, and that would never be a factor in any purchase decision. However, I do understand why having that reassurance is important for some. We buy our cars accordingly. On a completely unrelated note, what does someone on here have to do to get a negative reputation of -40? Did you run off with a moderator's wife or something? 😄

  13. Whilst you are undoubtedly correct the fundamental issue will still be getting the power into the battery - To get 80kWh (400 miles range) into a rep mobile (The equivalent of 24 hours on a domestic charger) will still take 24 hours and even the largest capacity domestic units would take overnight. Although even a 50% reduction in weight per kWh would still leave the battery weighing a couple of hundred kilos. As for the so called "fact" that most EV journeys are only a few miles, surely that is simply because potential BEV car owners are range terrified until there is a reliable public charging network. Our daily use pattern of the PHEV is 4 days commuting (all BEV) and then a touring weekend of between 200 and 500 miles (mixed EV and hybrid miles) Even with a 200 mile range I couldn't do a day trip to either of my in-laws in a BEV without recharging. Cheers Tony B
