  1. They will probably steal it long before that, so no need to look for a long life one 🙂

  2. Check or replace gearbox oil, I'd replace. If the car drives OK i.e. the noise is not excessive, I'd just turn the radio up a bit.

  3. When you replace perfectly working mechanical things with electronics and call it progress, chuck in a hill start gadget or two, so people approve and be amazed how awesome it is. Then charge 1500 GBP to replace it when ti dies few years later. But this happens so gradually that people get used to higher and higher costs of maintaining a car, i wish there were more mechanical cars on the market, and not just with bunch of unnecessary gadgets that we did just without.

  6. I asked Toyota this question and they told me that because the cast of the dipped beam was flat I wouldn't need to do anything at all to the headlights. I then merrily drove round France and Spain and nobody flashed me so I think the Toyota advice was sound.

  7. Resetting the TPWS is straightforward, using the “meter” buttons on the LH side of the steering wheel to go to the dash settings menus.

  9. Do you notice any loss in power? Service history? Have the plugs been changed recently? And the air filter? Are the brakes binding (those are my GoTo questions for this type of question) Mileage?

  10. Could be a number of things. Checked your tyre pressures lately? Clipped any kerbs/ potholes and knocked the wheel alignment out. Does the car feel the same, acceleration etc?

  11. Cold weather, car takes longer to heat up to operating temperature, using more fuel. You will notice a drop in MPG, especially if you do a lot of shorter trips.
