  1. For some unknown reasons all the correspondence I had on my computer suddenly disappeared and someone keeps telling me I need to create an account? I have an account for a couple of years so I don't know what they are talking about. Anyway, I went to Toyota, they replaced the cabin filter, cleaned out one or two items (I don't know what there were) and the engineer said there was no need to use the AC but preset the draft director to windows and feet and keep the heater right between the blue and red. He also said it was useful if I left one window open a little bit to let the hot air out when I was putting the car away. Since I have been doing this, I am not having any problem whatsoever. All is well. Thank you everyone who was kind enough to help me. Very much obliged. Kindest regards, PS To whoever, I do not need another account thank you. RonBin

  2. IOS13 is causing lots of Bluetooth issues, so much so that Toyota have added a note on their Technical support site regarding IOS13 issues. Regarding contacts on the affected phone find the Toyota pairing in the list of paired devices then select the small blue i this will open a menu, ensure the Sync contacts tan is turned on.

  4. Hey Sammy, What about some rubber types from ebay /amazon/direct as below, possibly fitted to your bumper so it makes soft contact before the pipe etc ?

  5. And this was the winning answer. Sprayed the white grease into the shock absorbers bearings and vualla! No more creaks. The sway bar bushings actually looks ok as I do give all the rubbers a bit of Waine stop leak spraying from time to time. Many thanks

  6. There is also a big difference between a simple wheel alignment and a 4 wheel alignment done on a rack iirc it was £45 the last time I had it done and there was a night and day improvement

  7. Lots of discussion about Airplay etc but that doesn't bother me..(Shh!! don't tell anyone but I don't really understand what it does so obviously not missed not having it). I am far more upset that forthcoming models will get the anti-theft keys that 'sleep' when not moved for a while, making it impossible for thieves to relay the signal and nick your keyless car so easily. What are Toyota playing at? this problem has been known about for years and the new RAV was recently developed at vast cost for a global market. Why on earth wasn't the better key shipped from day 1? it doesn't even need any vehicle changes, its just a smarter key with a motion sensor that costs peanuts to implement. Toyota should be replacing the insecure keys with the new ones for free to us early buyers as its not like its a post facelift model or such a year or two down the road, its literally months after releasing the first vehicles here. I am assuming they have added the new keys reluctantly to gain some better recognised security rating or insurance grouping rather than customer care.

  8. You could "join" the 5+ Club and receive a 20% discount on servicing and MOTs, if you wish to use a Toyota dealer. Full price at the moment is £165 intermediate and £295 full. £132 and £236 respectively after discount. You need to check if the dealer will honour the discount first, I belive it's not obligatory for them. I would personally stay away from the big chains (sharp intake of breath, you need this and that the other doing, sir/madam, whether it needs doing or not!) and if an independent is peferred use one from personal recomendations from people who have used them.

  10. Maybe the oil does not get dirty due to low mileage, but there could well be water in it due to condensation through standing and then not running hardly. And depends what Toyota service the car has - Intermediate or Full..... I think intermediate with Toyotoa maybe around the £180 mark, maybe a bit lower. Here is a link so you can put the cr details in and you get a Toyota price shown. Akso on the link is details of the 5+ service mentioned earlier https://www.toyota.co.uk/owners/service-mot-maintenance/servicing

  11. Two separate toyota dealers did not know what 'connected services' are and how to activate them. There is a bit of confusion at the dealers about how to do it and the multi-step process does not help. This video explains the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfnT6hoyWVc Customer registers at the My Toyota portal Customer adds the car to My Toyota portal Car needs to be verified by the code from V5 or at the Toyota dealer Once verified, car can be connected to the wifi (customer needs to use My Toyota portal login) This will allow to use traffic and speed cameras, and google search, and upload / download car configuration. To activate ‘connected services’ (for Driving Analytics), any Toyota dealer needs to connect ‘My Toyota’ account to the specific car and then the car will report it’s driving data back to My Toyota portal, this is done on the internal Toyota system. Car does not need to go to the dealer. Confusingly, connected services do not need wifi connectivity and use car in built GPS connection, as no other informarion is uploaded. Would be great if they could appload the MPG and fule level for example, once car is connected to wifi, but with the current headunit it would not be consistent. I activated 'connected services' by calling this number For help with phone connectivity, navigation and My Toyota: Open Monday to Friday from 9:30am - 5pm 0344 701 6202 Used it for a month now and sometimes it takes a few hours for information to be visible in MyT app.

  12. I disagree with that., not necessarily to run an air con to Keep windscreen dry, if all components of the heating/air conditioning system function normally no any car should have a misting problems running without air con ON. There is something going on in his case, it’s not normal. In winter once in a while I may turn ON air con, any other time I don’t use it at all and never had any troubles. Running air con all the time is unnecessarily extra and it’s a wasting energy in any way, kWh or bhp, mpg, it’s just down to personal preference. Even though with air con ON all the time you can easily mask an existing problems due to the fact that AC is drying the air coming into the cabin. There maybe a leaking windshield seal, soaked pollen filter or perhaps blocked drainage or somehow water finds it’s way onto the heating system tubes and from there spreads all over the cabin. Not using an air con it’s not the issue 100%.

  13. For run of the mill stuff any reputable garage should have multiple accounts with local motor factors and be able to have parts the same day (brakes, wipers, shafts, drop links, bearings, callipers, brake hoses, suspension etc.) - this is how the industry has worked for decades, ECP should be the source of last resort, don’t believe the rubbish about a ‘sale’, my factor is at least 20% cheaper on a front set of disc’s and pads vs the ECP ‘sale’ price.

  14. They only change them if requested, i have pulled a filter from a car that had been serviced by a main dealer for 10 years and it was never changed

  15. My Corolla (no aircon) started to suffer inability to clear the windscreen, and a new cabin filter sorted the problem nicely. It was dirty after 15,000 miles (could be longer if they missed it at previous service)

It mists up due to gunk on the glass and silicon used it the interior cleaning products, cover the dash with towels and clean the glass with warm water with a drop of washing up liquid and dry with a good quality microfibre cloth if you have climate control when you turn the car off it closes the outside air intake what means no air flow what's a pita
