  1. After driving some distance at night I have noticed that the right hand headlight is very low on dipped beam. I understand that it may be lower so that it doesn’t bind oncoming traffic but mine is very low. I was curious to know where the headlight adjusters are but couldn’t find anything in the forums. The US forums showed the adjusters in a different position. On the plastic above the headlights there is an indication of which adjuster is left/right and which is up/down. Attached images show the adjusters. Fourth image is the adjustment info on the drivers side, third is the plastic up/down adjustment, the second is the metal left/right adjuster and the first is the near side adjusters. I will be taking my car to the MOT station to have them set up correctly, and if they are badly adjusted I will tell the dealer as I would guess these should have been set on the PDI. The headlights are self levelling but they need to be set correctly in the first place.

  2. I think the idea is that having it in the car means the A/C is likely to be on if it's very hot, so the HV battery cooling system sucks in cooler air than it would from the outside.

  3. 1085 Kg for a manual 1.5 excel vs 1160Kg for the hybrid excel - so basically an average teenager in the back seat

  4. Nazif, go to YouTube and search for “how to check if diesel glow plug works”, loads of videos, some using meters, some looking at the glow when out of engine.

  5. i do like to be road legal but sometimes you have to draw a line and decided what side of that line you would like to be on. do you want to be safe and be able to see where you are going i do feel being able to see the road ahead is quiet important ---------------------------------------or----------------------------------------------- use the original headlights and not be able to see the road ahead clearly and possibly hit a pedestrian dressed in black or a pushbike rider without any lights

  6. Here's a safe way to check ... go to Toyota's Recall Checker, enter your VIN, click to say that you are not a robot and it should display basic information about your car including model year. 🙂

  8. And the same in winter, with the heating on the battery gets up to it's optimum operating temperature quicker, taking warm air from the cabin.

  11. So, it’s a diesel. I not familiar with a Verso dashboard, but usually a diesel car dash will have a light that, when cold, when you switch ignition on a light will glow for a period of seconds to indicate the glow plugs are working. The length of time that light shines will be longer when it is colder. Your handbook should show where this light is on the dash. Diesel engines do not have a spark plug that cause an explosion. Diesel works by high compression causing heat, thus in cold weather the glow plugs create additional heat to help the system work.

  12. Most likely air blend flap stuck or servo motor not moving.

  13. No, when the engine is off there is no power for the cig lighter to use so no power drain from there. There is a power drain from somewhere leaving the battery dead. I'm not knowledgeable enough to help, someone more knowledgeable hopefully can help with finding the cause.

  14. Started getting the 'kdink kdonk' of exhaust touching rear crossmember AGAIN .... The whole 'ensemble' is tightly U-clamped but, when the centre pipe was replaced, everything got yankked about and this has resulted in some movement. Oh.... For a welder! I could have lashed up my backbox pipework and blazzed it solid - fit n forget!! Instead, I spent a chilly 1/2hr lying in the lane [up on the ramps] retightening bracketry whilst pushing the system up..... Silence restored 2sav

  16. My dealer in Birmingham just called to say that an update would be chargeable and that there is no update since 1520 for my car! I've told him to go back and check - because I'm not going to pay them to update the software for something that should be working right. Initially he said to me that it was something I could update through MyToyota app! Pulling my hair out here.
