  1. I have involvement in the motor trade. Sales are closed but repairs still open. Leasing and PCP is an unexploded bomb. It will go off as we emerge from this crisis. Many of those who squeezed into a lease a year or two back will not be able to keep up with payments. Expect a glut of 1-3 year old ex-lease 'prestige' cars on the nations' forecourts. Anything cheap to run up to £3k will sell well!

  2. When you book a service, normally you get asked whether you are leaving the car, waiting or require a courtesy car. Booking a courtesy car, as with any dealer, whether Toyota or other manufacturer, may depend on availability - ie. availability of a courtesy car may delay the service by a couple of days or so. Depending on the dealer, one may be advised to pay a collision damage waiver for insurance purposes.

  4. Thanks James 😊 Hope you are safe too, and hope your get the money in June 🙏 I want the 2.0 Corolla too! But, might be swayed by the 2.0 CH-R instead 🤔 Free courtesy car if service at dealers: https://www.toyota.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-aftercare/service-mot-maintenance

  5. Yes they allow the roll up dog / luggage guard to clip on. It’s all in the user hand book . in my touring the back seats can fold down, then the portable dog guard like a roller blind clips on the back of the folded down seats then rolls up and stops and luggage moving forward when it’s in full van mode great and simple design, now also on some other cars eg bmw

  8. I have a service plan. Do you get a courtesy car or have to wait while they do it? Would like to drive the corolla 2 litre. Would be my next car in 5 years when affordable! Hope everyone is finding stuff to do, and manages on lower finances, and keeps their job, once things get back on track. I'm self employed. Gone quiet. Had 2 gardening jobs last week. Don't mind as outside. Charged £20 each. Just replacing a leaking garage roof. Finishing work permanently tomorrow. Hope I get the self employed payment in June! Keep safe. James.

  12. I think it will hit the luxury market first people with £500-1000 a month payments it will be the first thing to go, people handing back lease and company cars will flood the market too on the other hand older smaller cars will rise in value as repositions climb due to non-payment and people living beyond their means

  14. I have posted the below in the insurance forum due to Covid 19. So I read on FB that the broker policywave have been actively getting their panel of insurers to reduce premium for their customers whose policies have commuting for work and can no longer work. Change policy to SDP +FT only without admin fee, then once you can work again reinstate the policy to how it was previously, again without admin fee. Everyone in this situation should call up/email their insurer and ask for this, you could get a pro rota premium back.

  16. Briefly considered the El Grand...nice truck...but having been a Toyota fan for some years I simply preferred the Estima...just liked it's size and styling more.

  17. No didn't try any other car I picked out the one I wanted on the web site as it had curtains and roof bars. The intention was to use it as a camper but circumstances changed so never got to do that. And this one had a centre cubby box between the driver and front passenger seats another must have, never got to use it as a camper and I don't need the eight seats either but it's such a nice car I kept it. A friend of mine came round just after I got it we went for a drive and within a month he also bought an Estima.

  20. You lucky person! I still working, and MORE things to stress about / do, as the internet is awefully slow and even video conferencing impossible (network not coping) - phone calls failed to connect But, yes, we shouldn't complain, we are the lucky ones when comparing to the covid-19 patients and frontline staff

  21. There will always be low life's in any kind of situation, they maybe thinks it's a complete lockdown and people should not be out everyday with their car. I have no work since the lockdown and will get 80%. It's certainly good the govt are doing this to help, thus helping the economy to recover when this is all over. I guess we will be paying more tax to repay the loan the govt borrowed. So I have time on my hand, nice at first but sometimes run out of the things to do. Keep safe.

  23. Time for an update again, On friday evening the cyl were drained again, filled them up, On saturday i had to fill them up again. But on sunday, success. The wd40 was still in cylinders. So I pulled the wd40 out of cylinders with vacuum, changed oil with filter, dropped litte fresh engine oil back in cylinders to help with lubrication on start up I started the engine, let it get up to operating temperature, took it out for a drive. Made a compression test again, cyl 2 and cyl 4 have 13kg of compression now 😎 Now i´m moving on to sort the P2008 trouble code that´s stored in the engine ECU

  24. That’s what government said, but we will see what happens in June, till then on lock down. There were few options for work but it’s too risky now, plus people instead become more humans they are turning into predators, have you read the paper how some low life’s destroyed the car of a lady doing medicine delivery? I rather stay at home, virus is not the only problem we have. Regards
