  1. Just checked the link, apparently hotlinking no longer works. So instead of clicking on it, you need to copy the link, then it opens fine.

  3. Slightly odd how-to as I'm not quite sure how the previous owner managed to break the original parcel shelf clip but thought I'd take some pics as I repaired mine and hopefully it might help someone else... in fact it will probably work on a lot of other cars to be honest! As you can see above the original clip had been sheared off. I remembered I had a bag of assorted Toyota trim clips and found these push fit ones that were the same size as the missing clip. After removing the central boot liner trim (sorry I forgot to take pic at this stage) I was able to get to the trim that runs up the side of the boot and ends at the rear seatbelt housing. This was easily pulled away, you can see it's held in by two round clips near the light cluster And more horizontal slot clips at the top I increased the size of the hole that was left carefully so as not to make it too big. I checked the clip would be snug by trying it the wrong way round first being careful not to posh the centre part though. Once I was happy I got my hand behind the trim and pushed the clip through, making sure to engage the centre part this time to lock it. Works a treat.

  5. These are wider 7J, will stick out and you gonna make your hybrid looks like a boy racer’s car.πŸ˜‚πŸš™ This will be on the insurance too, they are not genuine, better buy original Toyota steel wheels or just get an all season tyres, a Goodyear vector 4 season are as good as winter tyres in snow and you can keep driving them in ten summer. Just buy 4 new tyres in late November. πŸ‘

  6. They can be a bit gruff when they have been sitting, it takes a while to get up to temp and get the oil flowing, turn the radio up ? Or add some sound deadening shopping this morning an hour and 5 in the queue hour and 15 shopping

  7. Yes, you can fit rear facing child seat on front passenger seat as long as air bag is turned OFF , this is the reason most cars have this function. Regards

  8. I go to different Toyota resource sites to different info. https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/13-01-01_faq_nr-engine_eng.htm http://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/ 7zap.com There are more, but some come and go.

  10. Tried again this morning before work and the key won't go in despite gallon of wd. I then drove to work and locked the car using key into the driver door. Heard a large clunk. So I unlocked the driver door again and this engaged the central locking, the boot now opens!!! How bizarre... Thanks everyone for your advice, hopefully this helps anyone else with a saloon avensis.

  11. Mine goes to my trusted garage that I've used for over 15 years for all our cars. despite having been in the trade my days of crawling under/over cars are long gone....time to let someone else do it.!!... I have always used a good quality 5w/30 long life fully synthetic oil and change it every 5k miles...that's once a year for me.. I think VVTi engines like very regular oil changes.

  12. There should be enough room to replace the stud, without removing the hub. I did have the hub from another car. First try to remove the remaining bit of the broken stud. If necessary rotate the hub. If removal refitting is not possible with the hub in place, it only takes a few minutes and 4 bolts to remove the hub, unless galvanic corrosion has occurred Also the ABS connector will need to be disconnected! I grabbed a photo of the T25 rear hub showing what to expect.

  13. Here's a corolla manual that's close to what you need, i haven't found anything better so far, that is free. It's in Russian so you have to translate it, chrome has this built in. http://toyota-corolla.ru/rm04f1ru/index2.html And here you can find the Avensis ones, some of them are in English, some are in Spanish. http://manualespurdy.cisdigital.com/Toyota/ You can also go to japan-parts.eu and look for diagrams there, especially if you have part number, or to find a part number.

  14. I know a guy with a rx400h.When he bought it he knew the exhaust was failing, and made his offer accordingly. But instead of buying a lexus exhaust system, he got a s/s system made from the cat back. It sounds lovely being a v6.

  15. What you said about having a noisy exhaust on a Hybrid, fascinates me Tony! Imagine gliding up to a group on the pavement in EV mode... then flooring it , with the ICE fireing up and hitting 5000+ revs! A bit of fun, and a lot of hate on the local social media site! Has anyone done this? Never heard of a hybrid with a modified noisy exhaust!

  16. oem or a decent brand (KYB, Monroe, TWR etc), change them as an axle pair. eg. both sides - if one side has failed, it overloads the good one given time that one will fail if you want lowering springs change them all around with springs from the likes of H&R or Eibach

  18. All, many thanks for your various responses. Ruslan, based off your comment;"But your message it’s a standard and all good. This message appears every time you start the engine." Presume this to be directly in response to my query concerning the message むニシャル チェック VSC 4WD - this gives me comfort. I have also seen some other youtube videos of people starting up their Estima Hybrids from the driver viewpoint and have noticed the message appear on their cars also. To answer my own query the answer appears to be: A) "standard" something that appears every time the / your car is started? For my own benefit as much as anyone else. I re read the instruction manual and noted that - as standard- a number of warning lights appear for a few seconds on the dash - including the VSC and 4WD (which appear) to not have a dedicated the dash symbol -only appearing on the multi information display panel. In relation to the replacement/new Auxiliary Battery - if the むニシャル チェック VSC 4WD message is in fact a problem. I can confidently dispel the auxiliary battery as being the cause. As correctly pointed out the auxiliary battery is situated within the cabin and therefore requires a temperature sensor and an exhaust to outside air. If a battery does not have these - battery error messages will illuminate on the dash. The auxiliary battery fitted to the estima hybrid in the factory is a; Panasonic (Matsu****a) S55D23L Battery - Toyota Model Part number 2880-28070 (see photo) Both the local lexus and toyota hybrid garages were able to source a like for like genuine OEM replacement battery from the Toyota Parts number (FYOI cost Β£200) - which is what i installed. I can recommend the following website as a very useful source of information - it has various system diagrams and part numbers https://jp-carparts.com/toyota/figlist.php?maker=toyota&type=656150&cartype=4

  19. And another thought... there was a recall involving the fuel tank and filler neck. Has this been done? and if so has the problem occurred since then. I'm wondering if something has happened to the fuel sensor and float such that it is registering an incorrect level.
