  1. From past experience Toyota GB don't always know thier products that well. Especially hybrids and plugins.

  2. It's been a long time since I did any work on Paddy! Life gets in the way, other cars take up your time, but sometimes life does open doors for you to find time to do things. So while I work from home I'm spending my lunchtimes sorting out the rear bumper on Paddy. I'm basically doing to the rear bumper what I did to the front. I'm painting the black trim white as well as painting the rear spoiler. Both of these are textured, and I'm using the same process as I did for the front bumper above. This time though I've decided to film the process. So here it is, I hope you enjoy it!

  3. I was about to suggest that before I finally reached your post! The nature of the liquid needs to be determined. Whether it is coolant, brake/clutch fluid, engine oil, condensate etc..

  4. Although the spare is 17” and the wheels are 18”, it’s the tyre profile that makes the difference. Even thought the spare profile is larger overall the spare diameter and therefore circumference is smaller. See the diagram here...

  6. Point of using pliers is not to force anything, but just to get some actual grip. Bow of the key is so tiny, and shaped in such way, that it's hard and unconformable to use, even when the lock is operating just fine, like in my case.

  7. ... VERY GENTLY. Some, in their enthusiasm, have broken the key off in the barrel. Some gentle (rotational) rocking left and right to get the barrel started, and if that isn't happening, spray little more lubricant. Personally, I prefer a silicone lubricant to get it freed then follow that with an annual spray of a dry lubricant and retest the mechanical key to exercise the barrel.

  8. Update on the headlights, purchased a set of osram night breaker bulbs and fitted them today. Got the exact look I wanted with them. Delighted with the end result and much better than retro fitting xneon bulbs 😁

  9. More likely just changing the gasket would be fine.

  10. Carbon pollen filter arrived this morning. Left is the new filter, big difference even it's carbon grey colour. Dash cable only reached glovebox, so when the 3 way splitters arrive in a few weeks will cable tied it in that area.

  11. After speaking to the dealer several times and looking at different forum, the conclusion is that if you have MM17 headunit made by Panasonic (with or without JBL), then retrofit will work. Denso units will not support ACP or AA. Model ID DCU 17TDT2EU-DA01 – where D identifies Panasonic, C will be Denso. From what I know UK cars with Navigation have Panasonic headunit. Btw, latest firmware updates for audio and navigation software are 1011 (17TDT2EU-DA01) and 1540 (17TMT2EU-FA00). According to a guy on another forum, who has access to Toyota Tech site, firmware for ACP/AA retrofit has not beed released yet.

  12. Instead of retrofitting HID headlamps try to find a part number for the headlamps from the grade "luna sport", they will fit perfectly since they are designed for your car. I've seen lots of people from vw group upgrade from base halogen headlights to led headlights that can be bought only from certain grades.

  13. Jay, you’re right. I contacted Toyota GB who confirmed this morning that plugging a PHEV into the mains does indeed charge the 12v system. Hopefully that’s the problem solved.

  14. It has led headlights so retrofitting hids are A) illegal B) pointless and a step backwards in terms out efficiency and output Not come across a rear splitter for these but then again I haven't looked

  15. my partner used to have a 13 plate auris hybrid and i used to have a Ct200h and i have to say the lexus is a far nicer place to be the use of materials feels better , a nicer thud when you close the doors and quieter cabin the down side is that the ride is a lot firmer than the Auris so a test drive will definately be needed ,around 14 / 15 the ct had a facelift and the e-cvt was reprogrammed i think it made the car quieter and the chassis was made stiffer along with slight body panel changes. i used to average 58 - 63 mpg throughout the year the premier model is the top of the range the boot space is quiet small but there is a storage compartment under the boot floor

  16. It's not the gas that's different but the compressor oil that goes round with the gas. The compressor windings are saturated in the oil so it has to be correct ir burnout will happen.
