  1. I feel I need to add a quick update. What a car! Ive had it 13 days today, covered just over 1000 miles in that time, most for work. Total average MPG 53.4. Had a job today in Wigan, 160 miles round trip from Wolverhampton, mainly M6. Set cruise at 70 (50/60 though roadworks) comfortable, effortless, cannot fault. I do find though that this car gives better MPG on A and B roads than sat on motorways. A previous day I traveled from Manchester to Derby dales and though Buxton and then to Stoke on Trent. I would say at least 50 percent was in EV mode. On motorways with cruise the Rev counter is mostly at about 1500 revs. Also as an ex Diesel driver I find I need to stay in Eco mode as I still have a heavy right foot ☺️ Well done Toyota 👍

  2. Toyota list the overall car height as the same for all models, bar the Trek, which would suggest the clearance is same for all (Except Trek). Im guessing bigger wheels are offset by lower profile tyre, but it is a guess

  3. Yes, i concur. I washed my car last week and left it in "Ready" mode. Took me about an hour and the engine came on twice for only a couple of minutes each time

  4. @TescoExpress I finally found the solution! When CarPlay is connected and your headlights are on, go to Settings > Display > Apple CarPlay and you can adjust the brightness. Can’t believe I hadn’t seen that already!

  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173521013506 This is what I use and change every 10k miles or 1 year, high quality filter and does the job very well, easy to change. , probably the most important filter in any car as it’s directly impact your health especially if you drive a lot and in dense populated places or busy motorways. Pictures below shows difference between new and 10k miles old, significant and the does smells like petrol fumes. Feel sorry for bike riders that does not use any sort of masks or anything.

  7. The enhanced one is activated carbon Mahle. Bosch or Hengst all work well and are under £15 for the carbon one, The oem one is under £20 - frankly those prices are a rip off for what in essence is a 2-min job It's the same as the yaris, behind the glove box - plenty of vids on YouTube

  8. I like that...old doesn't necessarily mean broken! I just thought 12 years plus...and its still on the road! I think its the oldest car we've ever had. As another saying goes...old is gold!

  9. Lexus is only a posh Toyota and share many common parts, dealers go on a fishing expedition and see if they can catch anyone, they do offer 0% PCP on some cars

  10. As the old saying says "ain't broke, don't fix it!".

  11. Be careful here! If you're worried about grounding due to the dip between road camber and drive (as opposed to hitting a pavement when parking square on to a high kerb) then its the entry/exit angle you need to worry about (i.e. not just the height at the lowest point but how far the lowest point is from the centre of the front wheels). The lower the front overhang the better for any given lip height when you compare cars!

  12. I agree with all the above. Admittedly the only thing that gets on my nerves is how dusty it gets. I often brush mine out weekly! I know

  13. As Frosty says, it's there to demist the windscreen. IMHO, these cars suffer from particulrly bad fogging of the windscreen, so I wouldn't advise blocking that vent.

  14. ^THIS. VAG DI injectors are notoriously fragile, especially on performance models as the environment in the combustion chamber is a particularly hostile environment. I loved my old Golf, and had a lot of fun (see photos & video), but if you want hassle free motoring. . . You can’t go wrong with Toyota. With modern Toyotas being as good to drive as German equivalents, and similarly priced, it’s a win win. EAC411DE-2B57-4276-90DE-2B47B6A93537.MP4

  15. That's why I didn't buy the hatchback. With two growing kids and mountain biking into the wilds the TS is perfect. The mpg is a bonus.

  16. Funny you should post, as I was going to do the same. I snowfoam every week, yesterday noticed a myriad of surface scratches, no doubt from one of my varied NHS site visits. The car is 5 months old, and treated very carefully being a company car. As for typical of black cars', well I disagree. Yes it's black, but so were both my previous, 4 yr old, 80,000 plus mile volvo V40's! No scratch swirls, and the comment of the agent who picked up the last one was 'well looked after, looks like a new car' The only issue it had was one 3cm scratch, and normal alloy corrosion... I think the Corolla paint finish is exceptionally poor, and when I see my colleagues high mileage, non Toyota vehicles, it just confirms this. At £34,000 plus, I'm not impressed with this aspect at all.

  17. Best when you have the car before your first attempt to go into the drive let the car to someone to drive slowly and you stay outside and watch, that’s the best so you know how much space left and how safe is to get in and out without damage. My dads car only goes in reverse inside his garage, estate car with low ground clearance and long overhang. 👍
