  1. Apparently normal. If coolant level, normal level then no issues. A lack of use and dampness. When weather cold my Volvo exhaust vapour you can really see, my 2015 Auris hybrid, nothing until the weather is cold, then just a bit. It's only done 33,000miles. Volvo 940 petrol auto 205,000miles. Use it more and just enjoy! James.๐Ÿ‘

  4. The smart water is little to no deterrent to thieves taking the catalysts as they are not the priority for the police, but what it does do is allow the police to trace the part when found in quantities, as at present the police struggle to prove the catalysts they do find are stolen, without a traceable ID all they have is a pile of untraceable catalysts which the culprit (scrap metal merchant/exporter ) will claim as legitimate scrap removed from vehicles they are breaking.

  5. Assuming it is the BMW diesel engine (1.6D4D), have a look at my post of last Saturday in the following topic -

  6. The 2 litre hybrid engine has a GPF (gasoline particulate filter) fitted in the exhaust. I would imagine that this is another part of the exhaust that will draw heat from the exhaust gases, leaving the rest of the exhaust running cooler, and thence more prone to condensation, perhaps? I don't believe that these devices are likely to suffer the bad reputation that their diesel equivalents have got. As I understand it, they are necessary to clean out particulates that are a byproduct of the 2 litre engine's direct injection system. As engine emission regulations get tighter then they will likely become more common on other cars. The new Yaris hybrid has one fitted as well. Another poster had a similar comment to you a few months back, I seem to remember, on the same car.

  7. Yes, appears totally normal with this car, and it's not down to lack of use or dampness with mine. I've purposely checked it out once or twice in the last 12 months and it happens even when I've done a long run.

  9. do other readers think there is only one person in this car? I wouldn't light foot it up a hill with 5 seated.

  10. Thanks! Funnily enough i actually did this today before i read your message, and it works! Did the same trip and put the heating on "Hi" in the car park and the engine fired up, by the time i'd left the car park it was almost at proper operating temperature, so turned it down again and the engine stopped. Great minds think alike!

  13. It's not possibly related to Lane Assist is it. Or from a Sat Nav ? Although either of those should be pretty obvious.

  15. Woke up this morning to find a big hole where my cat used to be. Annoyingly itโ€™s on the Auris that is being traded in for my new Corolla in 3 weeks time. Apparently they cut through the exhaust, cut the wires & unbolted it outside my house while I slept!! Now concerned about how safe the cat on my new car will be?
