  2. When Toyota launch a new model all retailed examples are included in a programme called EDER ( Early detection Early resolution ) in affect any fault/failure has to be raised/reported to Toyota before any action is taken, once reported Toyota& the dealer work together to diagnose and repair the car failure to report the car will result in a rejection of any warranty repair claim submitted as Toyota's technical department once satisfied the repair is complete issue a one time authorisation code required by the dealer to submit an approved claim. Any repair the OP's dealer is doing will have been agreed by Toyota and would seem unrelated to the "Multiple warning light" issues reported recently by other members, this by the way is an ABS control unit software issue which was notified to dealers on Friday as an un upcoming product recall fixed by a software update, affected owners will be notified via a DVSA recall letter in due course.

  3. What a great idea, not! Why didn't they make all bulbs replaceable? Does this apply to my pre facelift 2015 Auris? Probably wouldn't be covered under extended warranty as a wear and tear item? James.👍

  5. My ear can’t detect anything unusual. If the car is behaving normally and no warning lights showing, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. You might just be over analyzing things.

  6. Andrue, on my metric the Mini was returning just 29 mpg per tonne, a gnats whisker from my Triumph 1300. The other changeover time is the BHP. I remember my Ford Anglia 950cc was 39 bhp, my Triumph a big jump to 61 and my first SAAB 99 was 86. The SAAB engine was the same size as the Corolla now but the latter with 120bhp.

  7. OK. Here are some images of the boot area of a 2019 Corolla Hybrid 1.8 Design hatchback. I requested the space saver wheel & accessories be included as part of the delivery so this is what you get if you ask for it at the ordering stage. I've included a couple of shots of the floor panel that goes on top so you can see how high up it sits - just about level with the top of the coloured bodywork outside. When the seats are folded down the whole surface area sits at this level and produces a large flat, level surface. There have been many questions on this issue. I hope these photos help folks visualise what the space saver looks like and what does to the boot space.

  10. A body colour pre painted spoiler are around £220 from Toyota plus the fittings, the GRMN one is over £1K and its not even carbon Mine is an excel so has the spoiler as standard but have removed and refitted a spoiler on another Yaris Do you know your paint code ? if not PM me your VIN so i can look it up ? Drag/downforce is negligible its more just for a style, each to their own people like to make their cars their own

  12. Yes, you are correct. At least not remotely easily. Some Avensis owners have split the headlamp housing apart by melting the sealant in an oven, and gently teasing it apart. This is not something a dealer of mechanic would entertain! An electronics specialist might have some of experience of this type of repair. (Devon Aygo works at a Toyota main dealer, by the way, so he knows the cars very well!) Is yours a pre-facelift or post-facelift model? And which side? Left or right hand drive? The front bumper has to be removed to get the headlamp off the car - some of the headlamp shell is actually just inside (underneath) the bumper cover. Like this:- It would be a good idea to be disconnect/reseat the connector(s) to the headlamp unit, and look for any corrosion in the connector, given the cost of a new part. This is unlikely to reveal anything, but still worthwhile.

  13. Why would you want to fit a rear spoiler? The additional drag will result in increased fuel consumption and the downforce could be easily achieved by a few bags of sugar in the back.

  14. Thanks for the reply Luke717 Looks like I need to go down the Android auto route, unless Toyota updates the software.

  16. Tony got on this one first! There is a jump lead attachment point inside the under-bonnet fuse box. If it is like the Auris, then this will be on the passenger side of the under-bonnet area. The jump lead point is under a red flip-top plastic lid, that is itself under the fuse box cover. A map of the fuse box is under the fuse box lid. This will all be in the manual. Use any shiny and substantial part of the engine as a negative, black, ground (-) connection, or better, one of the large suspension nuts that are just beyond the fuse box. Note that the fuse box attachment point is only metal on one side of the 'blade' that is provided. Jump leads are often similarly one-sided with only one half of the pair of jaws live, so it is possible to attach and still have no proper connection.

  17. I think that most people who’ve transitioned from manual to auto gearboxes will have experienced the misplaced left foot hard on the brakes. When you think about the force you normally use to de clutch then it’s no wonder really.

  18. Sounds like a yaris to me, it may be the air intake (induction sound) Try and turning it off at night then back on in the morning that usually resets the misses 😉 tho some versions retain errors for long periods - that can be reset with ice cream and/or alcohol in varying quantities, flowers may cause irritation
