  1. I've got the 1.8 TS and would say if you want to future proof yourself then you should only consider the estate version. It's not a large/wide estate and doesn't feel like your driving a barge, ideal for everyday driving, commuting. If you get the hatch version once the pram is in you won't have much room for anything else but believe me you will have a whole load of other baby 'stuff' to lug around on any day out. Toyota themselves advertise the hatch version for singles and couples.

  2. I also echo the estate. I am single, no kids and was looking for a hybrid Toyota and looked at the Auris hatch and it's so small. Sit in the rear and head nearly touching the roof. Legroom not great. Looked at the TS and so much better! Would be even better if rear seat slid into part of boot space when boot empty. It's not a massive estate and easy to drive and park. I have a 1996 Volvo 940 estate, so like estate cars. Seen the Corolla hatch at dealers and sat in one. They feel very small/dark. OK for couples, but probably go for a new Yaris if just 2 of you. That felt better to sit in/front/back. Well thought out. James๐Ÿ‘

  3. Good luck everyone. My injector is currently delayed and I will install it as soon as it arrives.

  4. That is not an injector it is a spark plug lead, of there is oil in the tube then the seal around the tube to cylinder head has failed, you will need to replace the rocker cover gasket and 4 x tube seals. As for fitment either the oil is swelling the rubber or it the wrong lead for the car.

  5. No need to apologise, we were all new sometime or other. Any other questions - just fire away, plenty people on here who can answer.

  6. Thanks for the replies, after further investigating it turns out Parkerโ€™s etc. are wrong, and my Invincible does indeed have a TPMS โ€˜SETโ€™ button under the steering column and 4x metal TPMS valves (yayโ€ฆ saved ยฃ40-125). Iโ€™ll dig out Techstream and check the values stored as Iโ€™m pretty sure it hasnโ€™t got the 4 wheels it came with on at present and have had zero warnings, which either means someone reset it, or the pink wire may have been cut, but thatโ€™s a job for another day - the weather is way too nice today.

  7. If you read the documents the 24 and 28 pin are for later cars (yaris 2014 on aka touch2) the early Auris also uses the 16 pin for the camera (touch)

  8. Looked up the switch, and it shows 12/2012 - 10/2015 - 84746-50010 (located down by the brake pedal under the dash with the word SET on it) Just a thought does the car have metal or rubber valve stems ?

  9. Is it the barrel, the switch or just a worn key, same issue with the spare key ? Are there any other keys with the car keys ? The barrel is fairly simple to remove, you will have to order one from the dealer if you want to use the same key

  10. It might be worth spending a little time reading the owners manual - long-winded and complex though it is. The really simple headline guidance states: and in more specific detail later on: There's a lot more than I have quoted ... ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. Hard to say tbh. It could be one of countless things but I'll just mention something that happened a few years ago on our old Corolla. It would lock/unlock OK at home but would not lock consistently once driven for a mile or so. You had to keep trying many times and opening closing the door. It didn't make sense what was going on but I gave the locks (the door latch itself) a good quirt with WD40 and also into the lock barrel on the drivers side. That was 4 years ago and it has been perfect ever since. Go figure ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Morning All. Update. I found the source of the creaky sound. Shockingly it was caused by the fact that the front drivers wheel nuts weren't torqued, they were all literally hand tight if that even! I found this when I came to take the wheel off in prep for inspection. Its been that way since we had the gearbox replaced. I am most grateful that it didn't cause any accidents or damage to the vehicle. Once torqued up the sound has disappeared. I dont know what else to say.

  13. I would say guffer tape something as a temporary fix and wait for a reply from one of the guru's. The smoke could oil splattered on hot surface? I think this might be the part number but best confirm it, message @Parts-King , he's very helpful.

  14. Excellent! I think the TS looks great with the 18s.

  15. Update: Fitted the exhaust today, omg what a difference, silence is a bliss. ๐Ÿ™‚ I was feeling bit lazy so tried to use the old gasket, it looked to be in good condition so tried it but then took it off as there was a bit weeping of water. I then took off the old gasket, got rid of the debris and cleaned surface with mini wire brush, inserted the new gasket as per the service guide, torqued bolts to 43Nm. Also, measured springs, 39.2mm (service guide says min 38.5mm), but forgot to measure the gap between the flanges but it looks even. Now there is more weeping of water than the old gasket, video attache.I am hoping this will seal up once its had a chance to heat up properly.... 20210529_175322_1.mp4

  16. Iโ€™ve got the 2.0 Touring Sports, the boot is fantastic for families - lots of cubby holes, hooks, compartments and flexibility with the boot floor. Itโ€™s great for carrying our 3yr old Sonโ€™s trike, and would easily carry our egg pram, with all the usual baby luggage too. The extra leg room in the rear means itโ€™s easier to fit a bulky car seat. Iโ€™d 100% recommend the estate over the hatch, which is a bit pokey in the back.

  17. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ On both Aygo mk1 and mk2, what surprised me most is that the suspension started squeaking very early! I have an underground parking lot which is very silent. When I drive into it, the car sounds like an old cupboard. On the Aygo mk2, the spare wheel option is atrocious, it keeps wobbling. I had to add foam. Like every car, I recommend not to dissasemble anything, because when you assemble it back, it gets noisy.

  18. Just my sixth pence worth, IMO the touring sport (Estate) is much nicer looking then the hatch. The wheel base of the TS is the same as a Prius, so the length will be somewhat the same.

  19. The hatchback has a shorter wheelbase than the Touring Sports (estate) and saloon, hence less space in the rear. Toyota market the hatch as being suitable for couples, the Touring Sport for families and the saloon for execs. As mentioned, take the pram and seat with you to try in the hatchback to see whether it suits. The following also provides measurements for the interior - http://ridc.org.uk.testing.effusion2.dh.bytemark.co.uk/features-reviews/out-and-about/choosing-car/car/corolla-20-hybrid-5dr-hatch-2019 http://ridc.org.uk.testing.effusion2.dh.bytemark.co.uk/features-reviews/out-and-about/choosing-car/car/corolla-18-hybrid-5dr-hatch-2019

  20. Best to take the pram and car seat along with you and try them for size. Rear space in the hatch does often get highlighted as not being great. Have you considered the touring sports? It has a longer wheelbase so more room in the back seats and obviously a much bigger boot.

  21. thanks for all your answers. I have now fitted a dash cam using power from the centre armrest, rather than the fusebox. This way it could be classed as NOT hard wired! ๐Ÿ˜

  22. If the car still under warranty push as much as you can to resolve your problem. Other option if you want to fix it yourself is to research bmw forums for the same problem of the same engine and see if anything can help reduce oil consumption without expensive engine rebuild, positive crank case ventilation filter and pcv valve, to be checked and replaced as first steps if you decide to go that way. Toyota are good cars with some exceptions and your model and engine are unfortunately exactly these. , 2013-2018 some Toyota models are not the best quality products of the company.

  23. Depends on what engine you have: 1.8 has a 12v battery in the engine bay, this will need charging. 2.0 has a 12v battery under the boot floor, this has a 12v connection point ( as you look at engine, fuse/relay box back RH corner open cover thee will be a square red cover flip this back and connect + 12v, connect - 12v to an exposed metal point such as top strut nut or bracket on front of engine.) this will give you power to unlock and open the boot then charge the battery directly ( it will not charge via the front connections) .

  24. When you say, "not compatible with Android Auto," what do you mean? Does AA just not work when you plug a cable to your phone and connect it to your car? What happens exactly? Depending on what phone you have and the version of Android it runs, it should work, assuming your car has had the Android Auto update for 2019 models that your Toyota dealer can do.

  25. Hi, you can jump start your car using points located under bonnet in the fuse box. Once you do that you will have power to open normally rear hatch and replace your 12v battery. There are many posts about this issue as itโ€™s common and also videos in YouTube, you can search for Prius instead as itโ€™s been longer on the market and there is more information., these are pretty much same cars. Good luck
