  1. Just watching Police Interceptors on Paramount and saw a post-facelift three door Aygo (2018 on) in Police livery. Nottinghamshire Police use them for the neighbourhood teams.

  2. Guys, I think I've got to the bottom of the mpg issue. I assumed that when you reset the average mpg displayed on the small sceen it did exactly that, it doesn't. You have to go into the trip information and past history on the main display and also clear the data there, note, it takes several "clear" presses to reset all the data, then check the small screen display has also been reset. I've just been on a 124 mile trip, no motorway, A roads, hilly in the Peak District. Computer shows 66.7mpg, fill to brim calculation is 62.0 mpg, which sounds about right. 7.6% optimistic.

  3. Are you sure it is not a secret hotrod Aygo in disguise with double turbo and a super charger just reserved for the chase on the motorway! 😃Just dreaming!

  4. Hi, you don’t need to worry about carbon build up on dual or port injection, this is only about direct injection engines and does not matter what make it is if it’s only direct will suffer same thing. I have seen on my car after 130k miles 1.8 hybrid with port injection clean as new, not shiny but white-greyish colour. 👍

  7. Damnit why do all the good Toyota dealers seem to be up north!! When I wanted my local to apply a TSB to my Mk2 they flat out refused and said if I had a problem they'd have to do a diagnostic first. I didn't want that because I knew they'd not find anything and charge me £135 for the privilege of doing nothing (Given they previously failed to diagnose a gearbox issue which later resulted in a gearbox failure didn't really give me any confidence in their diagnostic skills either...). Tried my next closest local and they gave a similar spiel, but I tried e-mailing their head office, and they just booked it in as a job for £70 and problem solved!

  8. Another occasion to use tyre weld is the slow leak. I think mag alloy wheels can have a slow leak. I used the tyre weld on one leaky wheel with an instant fix and no problems. I had plenty left too and it was still active 20 years later though I only checked as I discarded it.

  9. I did not enter an order number. I did get an email from Toyota thanking me for the order and somehow it was all linked together via the web account and the MyT app. Every time there was an update in a stage I got an email confirmation from Toyota stating the status had changed and giving detail of what was going on. As an app tracking the order it was better than I’d had on any car purchase in the past and it’s obvious that there are details that could be added to improve the tracking. I did try to track various RORO ships that were forecast to dock at Portbury approximately at the time I’d expected it to land but Toyota could have easily detailed that information. It’s interesting monitoring the ships progress. I just looked on the Portbury movements web site which gives expected arrivals for a couple of months. no matter how many new cars I’ve purchased over the years it’s still an exciting time awaiting that all important call or email giving a day for collection.

  10. I had previously had a Toyota online account because I have had a number of Toyota Avensis over the years. I can only assume that the dealership gained access to my account perhaps when entering my email address it came up that I had an account and they entered the details. When I downloaded the MyT app it was already on there along with my username etc.

  11. Cheers guys. Soz, but toyota makers/bosses Anger me so much, because it's almost as if they say at the board meeting: ' Right ! let's make it as hard as we can , for Toyota owners to change a bulb ' lol. People are too busy to book their car in for the day, every time a bulb goes lol

  12. The Dunlop brand is owned by two manufacturers - for Asia, Sumitomo and for Europe, Goodyear. However, some manufacturers fit the Sumitomo made Dunlops as original equipment on their Japanese made vehicles which are destined for the European market. Goodyear don't list the Enasave tyre on their Dunlop.eu website, so presumably that tyre is made by Sumitomo and was OE on the Prius when new. A similar situation occurred with early examples of the current Rav 4, where Sumitomo made tyres were OE, weren't readily available in Europe, and the Goodyear Dunlop equivalent was a different tyre.

  13. I got my MyT app by setting up an account on the Toyota MyToyota web site and then downloaded the MyT app and used the same log on details. This was done immediately after I placed the order, the dealer was not involved. I got no VIN number until the car was delivered.

  16. I think it was quite clever of Toyota to delay marketing a full EV. They have got a good following with hybrid cars what with Prius, Corolla, Chr, Yaris plus some others, a good following of owners who haven’t been restricted by a max 150mile return journey that has frustrated many. Even now you have to pay a lot of money to buy an EV that will do more than say 250 miles. Plus the lengthy charging times, few charging points etc. On the other hand when Toyota releases it EV it could well be capable of recharging in minutes rather then hours and do 400 miles. Technology has really moved on since the Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe, Toyota are spearheading change.

  17. Hi All, I (fairly) recently impulse bought a Yaris T-Sport on Ebay after spending a while looking for a hot hatch for a friend (funny how that happens). I've not had a little hatchback for a fair while now and have been enjoying it, as a result I have regressed to being ~17 years old it would seem. I have documented this strange anomaly on YouTube (turns out this is an awful lot of work in itself!) feel free to check them out below 🙂 Channel Link :) There is a distinct progression I think from videos 1-4 so give me the benefit of the doubt if you do go for chronology!

  19. The video shows a 10.000 mile Golf R. Pretty bad carbon build up, despite premium fuel and additives. The Golf only has direct injection. I know Toyota has both port injection and direct injection, that should remove this issue. But does it? Has anyone seen photos of Toyota Corolla intake manifolds or valve, and are they nice and clean? Does all of Toyotas newest engine have this dual injection system? Are there any Toyota engines, that only has direct injection, and could look similar to the VW Golf?

  20. One good thing I found about the download/install is that once the download is complete and the install started you can switch off and the next day it will carry on from where it’s left off. I had to do this and was concerned but it worked fine and I was still able to use the system whilst it completed the update then there was a message to say that after the next restart the update would be completed. Pretty robust in comparison to other updates I’ve completed on cars from other manufacturers.

  21. Just take the whole thing out, if i remember correctly, it's only 2 screws for which you will use 10mm spanner. And also 2 plastic clips holding it. I took both of mine out some 2 years ago, was pretty easy.

  23. ABS - TSB: 21SMD-039 Model (WMI): Yaris HV (VNK); VIN Range: KBAC3# 0A000502 - 0A147621; Model year: 2020~2021. The affected vehicles were manufactured between 6 July 2020 and 28 April 2021. The software of the Skid control ECU (Electronic Control Unit) which monitors and controls various functions related to the brake system may be defective. As a result, the electronic parking brake could become inoperative, increasing the risk of an accident

  31. I am sorry I can’t help you Kam. Best advice I can give is… when you get this sorted, sell the car and move on. The MMT appears to be nothing but trouble, nice idea, but not working well in every day life.

  32. Mike, adding images is easy as long as you know where the images are, and the image file is not too big. I take a photo with my camera, stick the screen card in my computer, click on the “paper clip” symbol when I creating a message on this forum, and just load it. re your problem, my wife has a 2010 Auris so should be the same as yours. The rear cluster bulbs are accessed from inside the boot on hers.

  33. This what I emailed (part) to my dealer... ------------------------------------ "It's a data comms Module (DCM) issue TSB issued 11/06/2021 BE-00495T-TME DCM - is the e-call and connected car module This module is on the Can Bus so if it locks up or the EEPROM fails it can potentially kill the whole car, this device can control anything on the Can network The TSB is for the gen4 Yaris - if you read my post, it lists the DTC's the link lists the DTC and their criteria, they are OBD2 codes but are Toyota specific. e.g. B15C4** the last 2 digits is the actual error The dealer will have access to it on Euro 5/6 through the portal A Brief description is.......................... 19 Data Communication Module, Multiple issues (DTC B15C464, DTC B15A804 & ROB 2210)" --------------------------------------- Although it is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) as opposed to a recall, it had the desired effect and, since it can be applied proactively along with the software update involved with the actual recall, my dealer has agreed to add it to the to-do list for when my car goes in on the 30th. Hope this helps,

  38. I contemplated getting a Toyota Catloc, besides being quoted £250, I found it protrudes by 4cm from the bottom. I have read that this increases the chances of it getting damaged if you drive on roads with road humps. I got mine £90 fitted in Harrow and it doesn't protude. I also got a tilt alarm fitted by Toyota for £100 which works well.

  39. It's a bit deceptive because, although they are higher displacement on paper, in reality because of the whole Miller/Atkinson-cycle thing, they actually operate more like smaller engines; I estimate the ICE in the 1.5 hybrids is on par with a 1.0, and the 1.8 is closer to a 1.3! It's because they push out some of the air-fuel charge, so although the cylinder is e.g. 0.5L, it pushes out maybe 0.1-0.2 of that before closing the valve and igniting it. The idea is you burn, say, 0.3L of charge, but take 0.5L of energy extraction, because the longer your expansion stroke the more energy you can extract from the burn - It's partly why diesels are so efficient, because they can have longer expansion strokes than any other type of reciprocating engine, and why petrol exhaust is so much hotter than diesel (Because their relatively short expansion stroke can't extract as much of the burn energy, so it just goes out the exhaust). Real Atkinson-cycle engines have a very complicated linkage that really makes the compression and expansion strokes different lengths, but faking it with delayed valve-timing like the Miller-cycle is much easier and more reliable. Also, what's this about the 19's getting better mpg than 17s?? Usually it's the other way around! One of the reasons I'm going from 17s to 15s in my Mk4 is to improve mpg (But also mainly because I have a small heart attack every time I fail to dodge a pothole! What fool thought low-profile tyres would be a good idea on a non-performance car?! Have they not seen the state of our roads?!)

  40. Ok, I have a positive experience with that stuff and still have a can for emergency, however many people are saying that this thing will cause damage to valves especially if the car has tyre pressure monitoring system, I only used on few occasions on older cars which were not equipped with that extra and never had an issue. Both time I used were because I couldn’t find the hole or nail to repair with my infamous kit from previous posts, I successfully repaired slow puncture due to the small damage in the wheel. If your car has no TPMS you can use one of these cans without any worries. If it’s a nail in better to use like my kit , my puncture repair still holds after 30k miles, and over 12 months and I am sure will do till the end of the life of that tyre.

  46. Yes, mine are very sensitive. First car I’ve had with parking sensors (front and rear). I have a 2016 Auris Excel hybrid hatchback. In the Toyota Touch 2 with Go head unit, if you go into the setup / settings, you can decrease the front and rear parking sensors sensitivity (sonar distance) from far to near. Changing this setting improved things considerably. Hope this helps.

  47. Hi, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303506971578 this is all that you need and an air compressor, works much better than any sealant plus the tyre can be permanently fixed using it. , or if you prefer you can just buy a bottle of any other non genuine Toyota sealant, works the same . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401910669482 👍🚗
