  1. This pic might be helpful. It's a clear view of the back of a facelift Auris NS rear light cluster removed from the car, so you can see a bit more easily what you're dealing with: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313437703986 I think the bulb holder you need to look at for the tail lamp is that central black one with the white and blue wires. The very top left I think will be the reversing light, the middle grey one pointing upwards the indicator and the right hand grey one the brake light.

  4. As above the comma MVMTF is to API GL-4 spec https://www.commaoil.com/passenger-vehicles/products/view/550 But if you check comma's product finder it list FE75W1L, what is MVMTF 75w (single weight) https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/gearbox-oil/comma-mvmtf-plus-75w-fs-manual-gear-oil-1l-213949.html https://www.commaoil.com/passenger-vehicles/products/view/551

  5. Sam, first picture first bottle from left to right is the one that suits your car, it’s fully synthetic, it’s GL4 and it’s 75w these three parameters are must have. πŸ‘ Best to stick with oem Toyota oil for the gearbox. Mannol products are full stop, highly not recommended. Recently bought a brake cleaner that damaged some plastics on my scooter, very unhappy., was about to try their oils but will not have them even for free.

  6. Hi Mike , you don’t need to take your cluster out to change any of your bulbs. All you need is just to slightly turn the bulb holder into the left and pull out, replace the bulb and put back in, slight turn to the right and all is done. If you want to take the cluster out you need to undo two nuts and then clip in two blue clips so the little locks can get into the holes and then pull the cluster out. Mechanic gloves are must have for both changing bulbs or removing cluster. Your ones doesn’t looks like been glued with silicone so no worries there.

  8. You can even see the relevant bulb holder clearly in one of your own pics πŸ˜€ This black one the arrow is pointing to. It should just pull out I think.

  9. Had a Lexus 2.2 Diesel. Never again! Engine and gearbox a big pile of poo. Massive turbo lag, mismatched short gearing and a 6th gear that laboured below 80mph. Head gasket went at 187,000 miles and I scrapped it. Build quality was good but designer who thought engine and gearbox and turbo were a good match must of been on drugs! Certainly not up to the Lexus name. Should of bought an IS 250 V6 petrol auto. Had a brand new 2007 Toyota Corolla 1.4D4D, 89bhp, in France and that was fine. James.πŸ‘

  11. Finished work the other day only to find I had a flat tyre. I could see the nail in-bedded 😞 As I have the panoramic roof, I don't have a spare so I had to use the tyre repair kit. It worked very well and I was back driving again in 25mins. Drove to a near by tyre garage and they could repair the tyre. The repair liquid washed out very easily. So if you don't have a spare and only the repair kit I can vouch it works πŸ™‚

  12. this appears to be the one halfords sells 75w /syn/gl4 https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/gearbox-oil/comma-mvmtf-plus-75w-fs-manual-gear-oil-1l-213949.html

  14. One year Toyota Roadside Assistance with a new car - provided by the AA. For the past couple of years or so, the scheme has been a Which? Best Buy for manufacturer branded schemes based on a combination of response times, ability to repair at the roadside, and customer score.

  16. Agreed with Bob, when I was looking for my bearings replacement I found some info that some cheap aftermarkets although the bearings itself might be ok the abs sensors cause troubles and abs remains inactive and light on dashboard illuminates often after change, I decided to go for blueprint, touching the wood 15 months later and almost 40k miles no problems so far. Hope they last long. πŸ‘

  19. Multiple OEM part numbers will cross reference to a single aftermarket part - in the epc you are looking at your specific model of car so that is the part number given 04465-0d210 is listed for Toyota, Lexus and Daihatsu and crosses to 3 other numbers

  20. Sam, your a worrier, so just ignore what just been said about what oil to put in the gbox - for peace of mind just go to your Toyota dealer and get the required amount of the specified gear oil for your car - its probably going to last the life of your car, so a few quid here or there is nothing in the bigger picture.

  21. Given it’s age and value, Gumtree, your local Facebook Buy & Sell Groups and eBay are the obvious free/low cost options, autotrader is the more expensive option.

  22. And the oil MUST be GL4 not GL4-5 or GL5 - the sulphur content in either of those damages the gearbox internals. https://www.widman.biz/uploads/Transaxle_oil.pdf

  23. If you might think there's a silicone or some sealant around the cluster, try spraying some wd40 around it. Or just spray above the light, it will go down anyway. Or try your luck again with replacing the bulb. I think they turn anti clockwise to unlock.
