  1. I have the 1.2 Corolla with 16" wheels and have to say the fuel consumption around town isn't great at approx 30mpg . On a trip of 40 miles , mainly A & B roads this improves to 46mpg . Motorway trips using the cruise control with the speed set to just under 70mph up to 55mpg is achievable with the motor barley audible . Would have preferred the 1.8 HSD however this would have cost approx 6K more than the discounted price that I payed for my car ( new ) and just driving 4.5K miles a year now couldn't justify the extra cost .

  3. Remember there was a company that converted a load of first gen Citroen C1s to EV few years ago, no idea of cost or range, but they were flogging off the brand new engines they removed. To be honest not sure if it was a good idea cos back then the whole idea of these little cars were they were cheap to buy and run, easy to maintain and good on fuel.

  4. I try and park away from everyone but there always seems to be some twit that parks right next to my car irrespective of how many other places are available.

  5. No reason why not I have done trips of 230 miles they can handle it well enough

  6. We've done trips of up to 240 miles in our 2016 Aygo in the UK - so not far short of your 410km (254 miles) journey. Two up plus luggage, and motorway for most of the way. The Aygo handled it fine. Wouldn't have any hesitation myself. From memory a couple of members have been across to Europe in their Aygos (both the first (2005-2014) and second generations (2014-2021) without any problem.

  7. No but it has that " special badge " that a lot of people seem to want as they see it as some kind of status symbol ( more fool them )

  8. Popped up to Dealers today to do a bit of research on Aygo X accessories. So here is what I found out.... Aygo X Scuff plates, two types, one with black background with red lettering and one with a sort of greyish background with black lettering, both £121.22 each and this is just for the front, no rear. Tried to add a photo, but errors out. Aygo X Spare Tyre Trunk Assembly, is £161.76, for everything except the actual space saver wheel, this is not currently showing on his parts list. But I'd add at LEAST another £100 for the wheel. Aygo X Back Seat Protection, could not provide a price, as this is not currently showing on the parts lists. Aygo Side Mouldings, could not provide a price, as this is not currently showing on the parts list. The parts guy was totally gobsmacked as to what I was showing him, as I printed off all the parts list numbers and he had not yet had them ! Anyway, he said, check back in a few weeks and hopefully, they will have prices. I just don't understand Toyota, because at the point of me placing my order, this is the point where they should be offering these accessories.

  9. This quote is a realistic representation of this particular model. I mostly drive in city at approx 33mpg (ECO mode). On trips approx 45mpg (NORMAL mode). Nothing special as you can see but it loves high speed motorway cruising where you,ll get the best mpg, similar to "st901". Any ECO, NORMAL & SPORT mode selection doesn't noticeably contribute to petrol saving, just accelerator sensitivity.

  10. Nothing to do with Toyota price protecting existing orders. For vehicle tax extra payment is determined by the list price when the car is first registered. The only things to blame are the vehicle tax system, and the buyer for not realising how the vehicle tax system works.

  11. Toyota are honouring the order price & any finance deals at that time. They are subject to inflated costs, including the huge increase in shipping costs. Yes you're not the only one (I'm in the same situation) & yes it's not fair, but Toyota can't influence the tax regime in place.

  12. Hi. I think I am satisfied with all the information received as to the source and nature of the engine noises. Nevertheless it is an unpleasant experience. Especially when at the traffic lights noiseless and all of a sudden all hell breaks loose.

  13. We purchased an Aygo recently because we were just not doing the miles anymore, we did consider going to EV but could not afford the extra cost. Even with the higher price of fuel the Aygo is costing us around £15 a month and that is filling up with E5, so not much saving to be had.

  14. People before drove to the south of Europe in much worse cars and some Maroccans go back to their home countries in any car that can take them anywhere. As long as you are only with 2 people in the citybug... Seems ok to me. Of course you can do this ! The first long trip will give you an idea of how long and how far you can drive before getting tired with the car's noises and driving tiredness. Seats in this car are surely ok... The loud noise of the engine is tiring but you will avoid it by adapting speed to a lower level. IMHO I could do a 1000 km trip in one day. Not to repeat that every day but it can be done. Used to do long trips in a van... that's not so much better to drive ! If you feel the need , stop for an hour halfway if you are doing really long trips or even stop 2 times.

Hi I have the green dash side light indicator light plus if I switch to main beam the blue dash indicator lamp comes on with the clunk noise ( poss a relay opens ) day driving lights ok front and rear side lights ok. Just no dip or main beam , I’ve attached 6 pics from the tec at the dealership. Just wondering if anyone else has had this burn out faults. Can’t see any water damage.

  18. Agree with others, should do it easy, heard of peeps going to Easteren Europe in the first gen cars, the good news is you have a Mk2 car so with its better seats and refinement is a bonus. For a very long trip, I'd be leaving our 107 at home and stealing my sister's 108 keys! Have a nice trip anyways.

  19. Yes I was aware of that. In US supermarkets the most common way to buy milk is in gallon containers. At first I thought it was strange but the plastic container is obviously smaller than a UK gallon.

  20. The Aygo can definitely do it; It's whether your bum and back can take being in it for so long! I've done some long trips in my old Mk1 Yaris and the limiting factor was always me back and shoulders aching!

  21. Mine took 14 days in total, but the app is not good. Mine is at the dealer, but the app says in transit and my app says i purchased 2 cars, one arrived a month ago in the wrong colour and was sold the same day, so woulden't rely on the app. i did ask head office to remove one of the cars from my app, but that's not possible

  22. Just about all cars are going up in price, some significantly. And if not yet they soon will.

  23. I had Toyota insurance offered when I bought my 16 plate Auris 1.8 hybrid. It was a good competative price so I went for it. But the second year renewal quote was off the scale like twice as much so I declined and they even had the cheek to ask me why I didn't want to renew. I just don't get it. They certainly don't 'get it' either.

  24. It’s not about people being “clairvoyant” I’ve worked in sales all of my life for a number of companies, most recently before I retired as a National sales manager who supplied building materials to National Developers and their sub-contractors. We would give our “customers” as much notice as possible of a pending price increase, no need for crystal balls or the like, just good customer relations and business etiquette. Nobody particularly likes a price increase but most customers appreciate as much notice as possible.

  25. Presumably you would have ordered the car from a dealer, rather than Toyota. Did you actually say to your dealer at the time the order was placed, that you wanted to be notified if the list price increased and the car was then subject to the extra vehicle tax payments? If not, how would they know? Very few people are clairvoyant. At the time of ordering if you felt the car was over-priced, why order it? Other manufacturers have also increased prices, and other vehicles in the Rav's market sector could now be subject to the extra payments. That's life. At the end of the day it is your responsibility to ensure you can afford what you've ordered - no-one else - and this includes items such as vehicle tax (including the extra payments if the vehicle should the car become subject to these), servicing, etc. Unfortunately it seems to be all too common nowadays for people's mistakes to be someone else's, or anybody else's, fault.

  26. I park away from others as well but you are right someone will always park next to you no matter how many spaces there are I was polishing the car over the weekend and noticed some tit has put a hairline scratch on the door Now will have to see if it will cut out Happy days

  27. Now all the wheel jacks 09111-F4010 appear to have sold out! the new number 09111-F4011 are approx. £67 + VAT and some are charging for delivery. The local dealer is contacting Toyota for an explanation why the price has risen in the region of 400% (Cost of living) as from the picture details on the Toyota parts lists there appears to be no change. Toyota are good at changing the last digit of part numbers from '0. to a '1' usually this only means it is a revision. In this case could it be the price?

  28. Blimey. Don't fancy paying stupid level road tax on my next car, might drop down to a Corolla Cross. Seems massively unfair that we are penalised for excessive delivery times

  29. Watch your speed in France on the highways.. French police are very thorough in making tourists pay speed taxes. Be aware they are charging taxes too if you are making use of a GPS system that tells you where the speed checks are. If you have a system like this, at least switch it off. You will see stations in the middle of a highway where you have to pay a road tax. The most fluent way is with an electronic identifier but that is only worth while for frequent use. Second best way : don't pay cash.. use a card.. and don't go in the lines with the big T symbol / telepeage. That's for the frequent users who have the above mentioned badge. Have a good vacation, Michelle !

  30. I got caught in the same price rise tax trap but it’s not Toyotas fault, they haven’t increased your price they have honored that but the dealer has to report the list price when they register the car and if that’s over 40K then the tax is applied. I was asked to sign a document to accept this but given the current situation with new cars they would not care if you refused, in fact they would make more money. As far as your car not arriving, I had the same message when I went to drop the car I was exchanging off but was told they had one that had just been delivered for someone else if I wanted to see it (it was the then new out 2022 model), I had a quick look around and as I was leaving the new car area I happened to look across and saw a new one in the colour I had ordered and would you credit it, it was mine, so don’t be surprised if it suddenly arrives.

  32. That is what I have been doing a lot more as I have my age has increased, more stops a longer breaks. If it is a really long journey we break the journey by stopping overnight, but then with both of us retired we are in no hurry to get anywhere.

  38. Now the weather has warmed up a little I am averaging 47/48 mpg in my Auris 1.2T 2018. I tend to drive it with economy in mind and my commute is quite conducive to this.

  39. It takes me about 15 minutes to find a suitable parking space away from everyone, because I'm very protective of my cars and still have had Muppets ding the side of my cars. So, if genuine side mouldings are available, they are going on 👍

  42. Yeah to be honest it feels like i still haven't got over the fact that i don't have a car anymore, i was thinking of going to the mall tomorrow and then i think 'wait i dont have a car anymore' insurance says they'll get me a rental free of charge so we'll see. I have mixed feelings about the car being found, on the one hand i'll be glad that i get my car back and on the other i'm worried i will find it in an extremely damaged state which wouldn't be worth fixing even thought he insurance will cover the cost. I parked in my usual spots of my neighbourhood, nothing that would justify my car to be towed away

  43. Still strange to steal a Corolla. They are ultra popular indeed everywhere around the world but there are also parts widely available too plus not so crazy expensive. Cars like that usually got stolen to be used for a bigger crime, robbery or killing etc or just for fun and then abandoned somewhere. Let see what happens. I am sorry for you that you have to go through all that trouble. Cars these days are everyone’s legs and been taken away or broken is a pain for sure. Any possibility been towed away for been parked inappropriate?

Here it is my cat story from today in pictures and video. 🐈‍⬛🤣👌 DB04DB04-C925-4A7A-845C-4173C21B63EB.MOV
