  1. I looked into this quite a while ago , if you trawl very deep through lots of the old threads on this forum I think you will find plenty of people who have hit the same problems, with regards to to radio the Japanese have a totally different frequency scale so I do know for a fact that you can find a converter for this. The TV will need converting to PAL I've seen threads on this also, the Sat Nav I'm affraid possibly will never work as there isn't a disc for the UK and the firmware is written in Japanese (I would like to stand corrected if anyone knows otherwise). Try this site and see if they can help Converters But if you want the best answer it would be probably to give up and replace it as the conversion will cost an arm and a leg. Had a look through found this one from a couple of years back sounds like the same issues :ffs: Old thread con the same subject

  3. See earlier thread a guy called KEV was selling a lovely unit for £650. if I had that amount I would have it myself ! Fitted a touch screen to my RAV a couple of years ago cost me £500 on ebay, one of the best on the market and operates reversing camera. Keep looking ;) ;)

    Rav 4 Xtr

I've fitted the full screen Toyota DVD Sat Nav system in my Rav 4, it goes straight in no need to mess with convertion cables ETC, they turn up occasionally on Ebay and some forum members sell them on here. A dealer will only tell you that you can fit the turn by turn TNS 300 CD system to the Rav which will be the 3 part numbers he's talking about, mine is the type used on Corrolla's, expect to pay around £500 for it butits far better than other systems on the market it included's an option for a reversing camera full calendar PDA option and maintenance reminders.
  6. You are indeed wrong, I have bought one from my local dealer, I think it was about £65 but worth it to hide anything in the boot. :D
  7. Might work I have a brand new one of those in my garage but not really tried to fit it as the 3 dr doesn't have the hooks behind the two front seats, but you could probably fit ones from a 5 dr in the right place. Let me know if you want it I paid about 20 quid for it not sure what they fecth on ebay though.
  8. Mark, are the dog guards that have telescope poles, from floor to roof not any good ?. ← I can confirm the 3 Dr doesn't have the holes in the roof that are on the 5 Dr, however isn't there a Toyota hard dog guard that has plundgers on the top and bottom, I bought one off ebay which has the clips for the 5 dr only so I can't use it.
  9. I use to have the Full Screen Nav Head unit fitted in my Rav4 with the tape drive (not DVD) but needed the external TNS300 DVD box with the Satalite receiver in to make it work, as I couldn't get hold of a TNS300 for a reasonable price I replaced the whole lot for the all in one head unit, so I think if you did get hold of one it would I/F OK.
  10. Toyota dealers do indeed do this mod now, but probably wont be as fast as getting one from SparkyDog. Part no is: 68650-42040
  11. If you can get hold of one of the proper Toyota Sat Nav units and not one of the Tom Tom toys there's a world of difference - I picked up one on ebay for £450 so keep looking they do turn up from time to time.
  12. The squeak behind the dash is a well known issue on the RAV 4 you might have to dig deep but a did see someone post a toyota recall document with regards retrofitting something on the dash a long time ago. :ffs:
  13. ← Did anyone try the protech guys from my previuos thread???
