  3. Answer: Buy my 2012 genuine Toyota disc which is in the for sale section for £60 posted http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/154652-rav4-t180-bits-pieces-up-for-grabs/
  4. Lots of people swear by the auto box. Not my cup of tea but lots of people like them
  5. Rob, You can play mp3 files on cd no problem as I do. The sat nav can only be updated via a disc which simply replaces the one that is currently in the car - they are expensive though at around £160 from Mr T only. I updated mine in 2012 and it is currently for sale in the for sale section of this forum. As it happens there is also a cracking 2008 T180 for sale :P http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/156178-toyota-rav4-t180-possibly-the-cheapest-2008-08-plate-t180-currently-on-sale/ Cheers Martin
  6. For Sale: 2008 / 08 plate Toyota RAV4 T180 with 1 previous owner & HPI clear Key facts: 92,000 miles with FTSH (last serviced at 90k), MOT'd until March 2015 and comes with all previous MOT's 2200cc turbo diesel producing a healthy 174 bhp and 295 ft / lbs of torque with a 6 speed manual gearbox Engine replaced by Toyota under warranty at 41k due to excessive oil consumption and new engine has completed 51k motorway miles and has been faultless New engine is warranted by Toyota until either the car is 7 years old (May 2015) or the mileage reaches 112k (whichever comes first) The T180 is the top spec RAV4 & comes fully loaded with the following: Full leather interior Heated & power seats Electric tilt & slide sunroof 7" touch screen Sat Nav / stereo system / cd player with integrated handsfree bluetooth & voice control Reversing camera Cruise control Traction control Electric folding & heated door mirrors Smart entry & smart start (start / stop button) 18" 5 spoke wheels with Bridgestone Dueller run-flat tyres (6mm on front tyres & 4mm on rears) Dual zone climate control Rear privacy glass Auto lights Auto wipers Auto dimming rear view mirror Multi function leather trimmed steering wheel Alarm & immobiliser with remote central locking / smart key (comes with 2 remotes / smart keys) The car currently has genuine Toyota running boards which I had purchased at a cost of £300 and will stay on the car if I get the right price otherwise they will be removed & sold separately. I have had to use some old pics due to the weather being appalling at the moment & I cannot get any decent pics however the car is in exactly the same condition as the pictures and more can be provided upon request The car is in excellent condition and only has a few minor stone chips that you would expect on a car of this age and a small scuff about the size of a 10 pence piece on the front bumper. It drives superb and is a very comfortable car. It has never wanted for anything and due to the mileage my wife does the car gets serviced by Toyota every 5-6 months. The car can be viewed in North Wales just over the border from Chester and test drives will only be permitted with proof of insurance that covers you fully comprehensive to drive our car. At the time of placing this advert this is the cheapest HPI clear 2008 T180 on ebay, Pistonheads & AutoTrader Only selling because my wife does 20k miles per year and we want something more economical. £7995 ovno
  7. That's an interesting forum name :-)
  8. As it happens yes. Just to make it clear that it's not mine
  9. Reading to Worcestershire isn't too far on the train. I drove from North Wales to Salisbury & back to view my S2000 (over 10 hours driving) & then caught the train from North Wales to Salisbury the following week to collect it - 6 hours down on the train & about 4 hours back in the S ;)
  10. Have you seen this one at the same dosh as what you mentioned earlier? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/rav-4/toyota-rav4-rv4-d-4d-t180----------------2006/2000727?isexperiment=true
  11. Kev, no need for my post to be removed as our car is not currently for sale :P I was simply pointing out that there are better buys out there than a cat d T180 especially for £7k - Nightstalker could buy an ex-member's T180 for that amount of moolah ;)
  12. If you are after a good example of a 2008 registered / 08 plate T180 ours will be up for sale very soon. Ours is hpi clear, ftsh with all previous Mot's, 1 previous owner from new, currently on 92k & is in vgc. Will come with a new MOT & is taxed until the end of August. Engine was replaced by Toyota at 41k and does not use any oil. Message me if you're interested or alternatively wait until I start a thread in the for sale section. This is not a for sale pitch - simply pointing out what can be bought for similar money to the vehicle the OP is going to view
  13. So, went in to Mr T yesterday & on the diagnostics everything appears to be fine. They have cleared the codes & I drove it to work & back yesterday & my wife has done her near 100 mile per day commute with no issues. I didn't get them to change the fuel filter & will see how things go plus the car is still under Toyota extended warranty so at least if something goes wrong Mr T will sort it.
  14. Do you mind me asking how much it's up for?
  15. So the wife phones me tonight to tell me she's broken down on the motorway but she's safe & waiting for the RAC. As she wasn't that far from home I went out to her just to see if it was anything I could sort before the RAC got there. As it happened we turned up together & the car was showing the famous check 4x4 system, check VSC, etc. The RAC guy got 2 fault codes P0087 - fuel rail / system pressure too low & P0191 - fuel rail pressure sensor. Has anyone got any ideas why it would throw these codes? Please don't tell me it's something to do with low fuel pressure :-P Basically the car has decided to go in to limp mode at 70mph on the motorway which isn't good & left my wife having to coast from the outside lane to the hard shoulder without causing an accident. We started the car after getting the codes but did not clear them & the car had come out of limp mode & sounded fine so my wife drove the remaining 10 miles home with no issues with me following in my car & an RAC van behind me :-) I am going to get it to Mr T first thing in the morning to get it checked out but as really don't need it randomly going in to limp mode at motorway speeds.
  16. Steve, there are some good threads on here especially in the pinned area by Charlie Farlie. I was aware of the potential issues before we bought ours with 30k on the clock, 1 previous owner & FTSH thinking we should be okay with a low mileage 2008 car. Running around town everything seemed to be fine - it was only when my wife changed her job and started to commute around 90 miles per day that we noticed it was drinking oil and we ended up getting the engine replaced when the car had only done 41k from new. It's now on 91k (serviced by Mr T 5 times since the new engine in November 2011!!!) and running as sweet as a nut - never had to clean the EGR valve or anything else but have put a few cans of BG244 through it purely because of the motorway mileage my wife has been putting on it and the engine has never really been under any strain when as it's been sat at 2,000 rpm in 6th gear for most of the 50k it has now racked up. Maybe Kev is on to something, maybe it it lots of motorway journeys help these diesel units rather than lots of small town trips.
  17. I wouldn't be put off a T180 that has had an engine replaced correctly by Toyota. We have now put 50k on our new engine without a single issue. I know there have been various failures even on engines that have been replaced but I have every confidence in ours & whoever buys it will get a sorted motor that's in top condition
  18. Bought brand new from Lindop's in 2011 and has worked faultlessly on our RAV4 T180. Now selling as we are buying a new car. 1 x Lindop's chip kit which will fit any of the T / SR 180 engines and is as new (makes the T180 so much better to drive and provides better MPG + an additional 35 bhp and 70 NM of torque) and will come with full fitting instructions. £250 plus postage/courier - these retail at £375. Message me if you are interested. Cheers
  19. I'm selling mine - see here http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/155541-lindop-tuning-box-chip-kit-will-fit-all-t-sr-180-engines/ and lots of other bits here http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/154652-t180-bits-pieces-up-for-grabs/#entry1312126
