  1. Thanks ... Nice to have a bit of info from owners . Put it through it's paces and have to say I am really impressed with the power, and the lads are loving the extra space compared to the RAV 4 we were all squeezed into . The space is unbelievable when you look at the size from the outside. The only vehicle I have had with more room was a Toyota estima, that was a lovely drive but a little asthmatic to say the least.
  2. A picky of my new D-CAT.

  4. Just joined and just missed this meet. Are there any more planned ???
  5. The pump is located to the drive pulley via a woodruff key so if the cambelt has not been disturbed the timing should be ok . You can by slackening off the two pump mounting bolts and the pump support bracket at the pump head end rock the pump by hand wit the engine running till you hit the sweet spot, then nip the bolts back up. The bottom one is a bit of a pig to get to but a small socket set with a wobble extension bars makes it a bit easier.
  6. Bad news.... Classic estima head crack symptoms... Drove mine back to Manchester from Devon fully loaded aftermine cracked, they just keep on running till they won't start again. To fix properly you will need to but genuine parts . Copy gaskets tend to be for avensis and carina engines which sit upright and the coolant runs theright way round the block estima gaskets have different sized waterways to force the coolant evenly round the head. This I's the most common cause of heads cracking so soon after replacement. There is a mobile mechanic from an estima forum who is highly reccomended for his work on these vehicles and will have the job done right outside your house . I do not know if it's ok to post his details on here with it being another forum. But can do if it is confirmed that I would not be treading on anybody's toes. Bad news is you are looking the wrong side of 1400 fir the work but he does warranty his work and is highly recommended by many.

  8. The old 3ct I had was a bit of a git to fire up when I replaced the head, I hope you have used a genuine head and genuine gasket set for the est/ lucida because your repairs will not last. In order to get mine going again I needed a full battery charge and boosted it from another car to give max speed to turn over. Have you ensured there is no air in the injector pump, I found it best to prime by removing the fuel return hose whilst priming furiously refit hose and make sure primer pump stiffens up. I also nipped the injector pipes one by one to ensure all air was out whilst cranking. The other problem could be your pump timing being out by one tooth.
  9. Hi newby here , just having a read up on the T180 posts as i will be taking delivery on friday of my own... B) Any pointers would be greatly appreciated regarding service intervals and the like. Was gonna trade my Rav 4 in against it but was offered £100 :ffs: , I know its 15 yrs old but with 117k on the clock and running sweet I could not give it to a heartless showroom. A breakers would probably offer more..
  10. Hello all, just a brief intro to say hello. I have been on another forum for the popular estima imports for some years so have decided to spread my wings along with my new choice of Toyota. I am currently disposing of my other toyota (RAV4) as I happened accross my new choice of wheels. To be picked up this friday... I Found a real mint Corolla Verso T180 and just had to get it. So I will be popping in here to learn more about my new ride, I will be able to offer whatever help I can to anybody with an estima or lucida and plenty of dealings with the 3ct denso injector pump. everything went wrong with my old bus at one time or other..lol So this is me, saying hello from Manchester.
