  1. Hi all, Yet another problem with my auris. I now have a with a whine coming from the engine. It's separate from the turbo, it whines up to 3000rpm after that the diesel clatter makes in in audible. The sound is un related to the gearbox also as I can replicate it at a standstill. I've booked into Mr T but this is my 3rd visit within 3 weeks and I'm fed up looking at the place. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. I've had a leaking sump, unexplained non starting - no issue found but potentially the injectors going. They are within tolerance but only just. The joys! Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  2. Hi both. Thanks for your replies! I'll look into it more, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll report back when I've upgraded. Gareth. Sent from my iPad using Toyota OC
  3. Good luck with the car. I hope it works out fir you. Sent from my iPad using Toyota OC
  4. Hi all. We've recently bought a new Fiesta that has made the dynamic failing of my Auris stand out like a sore thumb, in fact by comparison it's a horrible thing to drive. SWMBO has declared I MUST keep my Auris for another year before I can get rid. (A battle I won't win) One area I want to upgrade are the speakers. If I replace the door Speakers with a superior type will the sound quality improve or will I have to change the head unit also? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  5. I have one with 100k on it now. They are not particularly reliable or economical. I average 44mpg brim to brim in motorway runs. Try to find a 1.6 petrol with a lower mileage. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC

  7. I have the same issue as you. Not to the same extent. Car is a 07/57. Slowed it down by painting lacquer around the peeling bits. Looks awful, but better than the alternative. Spoke to Toyota but no joy. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  8. Selling the car is not an option. I want to run it into the ground. Seems to still be mechanically ok. Hoping for another 2 years. Will take the car to 160k paint work or no paintwork. It's just frustrating. After many years of new Toyota ownership my wife has defected to Ford. Such an eye opener for me in terms of how poor in dynamic Toyota's new offerings are. I'm not sure the reliability is there any more either given major issues with both are cars during their service. I really don't think they are any better that any other mass manufacture at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  9. Thanks for that. Rather frustrating, the paint also seems very prone to stone chips compared to other cars I've had. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  10. Hi. I have a 2007 auris TR in solar red. Recently the topcoat on the car has started to peel away on the roof and bonnet. Is this a common issue with red Auris's? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  11. A great car. So short sighted of Toyota uk not to import it. I drove one is Spain and it was seriously good fun to drive. It felt seriously quick! Toyota seem to put logic before driving pleasure. My Auris is testament to this alone. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  12. That's a good point. Mine also had the updated egr and manifold fitted that made the vibrations ultimately worse.... Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  13. Car changed today to a fiesta ecoboost. Thankfully! Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  14. Hi. Just spoke to my dealer. Apparently cruise. I troll cannot be retro fitted to my auris. It can on some and not on others I'm told. Is there a way I can verify this? Thanks, Gh. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
  15. Interesting. You've been having a look at my profile. Yes, I do drive a 2.0 diesel. Also, I started the thread In the 1st place. Just to reiterate this is a real vehicle suffering from very real problems and costing me depreciation for something we get no joy out of. Gh. Sent from my iPhone using Toyota OC
