  1. hi .i have a 2.0 petrol auto ,it does about 23 to 25 mpg .when i fill it up is says on the range 250 miles.as well i work for a toyota dealer and they say it not good so next week we are going to remap the ecu and download a new software .i had this car six month .it on a 53 plate evry time i fill it to the top.cost me 50 pound on 250 /265 mile a tanks...not happy with it.....they are good car ,,,,so i will let you know how it is when they do it...chris sorry for bringing up a very old thread however i am exactly in the same situation and your reply seems tobe the most relevant to my case, can you please let know your experience what you did to improve the mpgs?? thanks
  2. adam you cannot compare apple and oranges lolz :) yaris being a small car and having 1.3 engine whereas avensis is a large heavy family car to top it off having a 2.0 engine petrol however yes agreed tyre pressure makes a big difference :) i m eager to hear kimbos experience but i guess he is not interested in this thread anymore must have sold the avensis maybe !!
  3. hi kimbo23 i wonder if you still have this car and if yes how are you getting along now..? did you solved your mystery of low mpgs or still the same? asking coz i have recently bought avensis 04 plate t4 auto and its a petrol hungry beast.... after a full fuel topup my range give 260miles duh ??? thats even worse than yours had it full serviced tried redex additive but i think i am really troubled by extremely low mpgs theres something wrong and i want to improve it.. is it possible that injectors or anything else needs replacement?? i havent tried resetting the ecu as i dont know where to look for the fuses.... heres a reference to my fuelly record http://www.fuelly.com/driver/visitorx/avensis please anyone guide thanks
  4. hi again just using fuelly from last 3 top ups plz check and see any recommendation i cannot raise mpg at all http://www.fuelly.com/driver/visitorx/avensis what is the recommendation thanks
  5. ahaan but that will create another problem like the cd/tape will ask for a code to play i dont want to be without audio anymore is there any otherway of resetting ecu.. one more thing today i have bought that engine cleaner which u put in with full tank its a kind of red thing dont know its formula name or brand name... do you think it really makes a difference? REDX is the stuff you mean yes? , its debateable the benefits of using it but I have used it mainly because I buy supermarket fuel which doesnt have the same additives as premium fuel , try a google about redx ,,, as for your MPG can you here my screamsd of horror surely the readings cant be correct even for urban in a 2litre, my wife a good staedy driver never gets less than 40ish more when long distance , thats in our 1,9 hi yes i just used that in the morning before a full fuel topup.. have registered with fuely to keep a more accurate look whats going on i wish i can get 40ish in urban lets see how it goes... about the ecu fuse does anyone know where to look for it? or is it easy to find cd/tape unlock codes incase i pull the battery cable thanks for all the responces really appreciate it

  8. hi all.. i have just bought this car in a very good condition and simply love it... however i am a bit concerned about the mpg i am getting in the usual non-motorway driving the reading shows between 14-15mpg for driving in the city not really tried it on the motorway yet so cannot comment on that... but i think this beast is drinking petrol like crazy is it like this in this model ?? any guidance is appreciated so thanks in advance.. kind regards
