  1. Many thanks for the detailed reply, very much appreciated. I know what you mean re waiting a while before starting, my Dad has an old diesel van and you turn the key one click and wait for the plug light to go out before fully turning the ignition. My problem is I have a push button start so I can't do that procedure. If I push the button without holding the clutch the lights come on, but the plug light never changes like you would expect in a key ignition.
  2. Hi, thanks for reply, yes that is from cold. It's a push button start.
  3. Hi, I'm hoping someone on here might be able to shed some light on the problems I'm having starting my Corolla Verso. I have created a post in the Verso forum but I'm not sure if it might be better suited in here with it being a 'Corolla' Verso 2007. I've recently bought this 2.2 D4D Diesel and it sounds like the starter motor is having a problem, but the garage I bought it from tell me it's ok and it's normal to do this for up to 25 seconds. I strongly suspect this isn't right?!? Here is a short video of the start up sound - It will do this when started from cold, once started it seems ok and if I turn it off and straight back on it fires straight up. Many thanks in advance for any advice.

  5. I finally found one to fit here on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEFT-PASSENGER-NEAR-SIDE-FLAT-DOOR-WING-MIRROR-GLASS-FOR-TOYOTA-COROLLA-01-05-/390641189187?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5af4078143#vi-ilComp Rather than using my registration plate number to find a match I literally searched generic Corolla mirrors until I found one that looked a similar shape, and bingo, fits perfectly! I can only presume my registration is not linked to the correct model? Although the description sounds correct?

  7. Thanks for the tips guys. I called Toyota and the part number I need is 87909-02340. Not having much luck finding one online though. Does anyone know where I could buy one?
  8. Hi. Thanks for the replies. This is proving stupidly tricky. All the mirror glass replacements listed on Halfords, Aceparts, eBay and EuroParts all list the product number SR(G)990. I've bought this part twice now and it's nothing like the same shape or size?!? All the listings on eBay will likely be the same part number. I think they all must use a national database of product codes to match car models, and I fear mine must be wrong. The guy in Halfords suggested buying a mirror replacement for a pre 2000 model Corolla SR(G)516 that might fit, but I've no way of knowing without ordering one and this process could go on for ever... Soooo annoying. I might revert to tin foil. It's not a heated mirror, just standard. I must just be unlucky with a Corolla model that has very rare parts?!? Here is a pic of the original mirror and the SR(G)990 replacement that doesn't fit - http://i61.tinypic.com/iwqept.jpg Any advise is welcome, thanks again for the replies.
  9. Hi. I've had no joy or response from Lindop I'm afriad. Does anyone else have any ideas where I could find a replacement wing mirror glass to fit? Thanks.
  10. Thanks. I've messaged Lindop and added this post to their forum too... fingers crossed. My local Toyota garage offered to order the part in and wanted £35?!? for just the glass replacement which is 5x more than the previous one I bought. Crazy!
  11. Hi, I need a replacement glass mirror for my 2003 Corolla 1.4 vvti 1.4 (3 door). I went to Halfords and according to their database I needed part number SR990 (£9.95), but this is the wrong shape and size completely?!? I've also tried Aceparts online and they sent me a similar part number SRG990 (£6.70), again nothing like the correct fit. Has anyone any ideas of what the correct part number is and/or where to get one from? I have tried my local Toyota garage but you need a mortgage to buy anything from there and they didn't have them in stock anyway... Thanks in advance. T

  13. Hi, I'm hoping you guys on here can help me out. I've recently bought a Toyota Corolla T2 1.4 2003 model and I'd like to replace the factory fitted stereo with a new CD Player with AUX so I can play my iPod. I was going to go to Halfords and have them fit it, but thought I'd save myself the money and do it myself if I can easily. I'm going to order a standard single DIN size stereo most likely this one. I also believe I need this - Harness Adaptor and I'm not sure which is the correct fascia this FP 11-04 or this CT24TY02 If anyone can suggest which parts I need and also if I've missed anything that I need in addition? I've watched a few youtube clips of how to remove the factory fitted stereo, but found nothing that shows the actual fitting of a new stereo, can anyone also advise which tool is best to use for removing the bits of plastic? I'd like the finished product to look something like this http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=118017 Thanks in advance for any help/info.
