  2. Hi, Just received the latest E16 DVDs I purchased from Toyota. They came from Belgium via UPS. If someone can advise me from their past experience...will I have to pay any custom duty on these..?? The UPS guy delivered it to my neighbour so didnt get the chance to ask him..!! Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi, Sorry I cant help you with any of the questions but would like to tell you that either there arent many active members on this forum or most expect you to know most of the things bout the car as I recently bought a petrol avensis and posted some questions and so farr have failed to get any adequate help. Dont rely on folks here and try to look for help else where. No Offence intended to any one but this is my experience from this forum.
  4. Thanks mate.. I am now getting them done by a professional (i hope he is..!!) a website called proparkuk, fitting steelmate sensors for £155. and he will color code em for me.
  5. Hi, Planning to fit steelmate PTS D1 rear parking sensors to my Avensis. Since they come in black colour I would like to paint them to decuma grey. Someone told me that if I paint them by a brush and the paint coat is too thick then the sensors wont work..?? and recommended that I get a spray can paint instead. Now I am a bit scared to paint them at all because if I mess it up...everything will go to waste and I might damage the appearance of the car..?? Can someone who has tried to colour the parking sensors share their experience and tell me if its too complex or how to go about it..?? Thanks,
  6. Not much difference between 1.8 and 1.6 but if you go for 1.6 manual..it will surely give you better mileage which I guess would be important in your profession. unelss you driving on motorway with 4 passengers..you wont feel much difference in the power of 1.6 and 1.8

New and latest maps are for £150 from toyota. This is last year and used...I guess you could get around 75 to 100 quid max on ebay if you want. sell em individually and you might get a bit more.

  11. Hi, Want to install a set of rear parking sensors on my Avensis 1.8 VVT-i TR 4dr 2008 There are a lot of options where one has to drill holes in the rear bumper but this particular one has to be attached to the number plate and hence no holes (maybe one behind the number plate). Can any of you share your experiences if you have installed one of these or have seen their performance on any other car..?? http://www.amazon.co...&pf_rd_i=468294 Please share if you have any other sensor options.!! Thanks in Advance Sidd

  13. Hi there, I cant help you with your project but would ask you if you can post some pics of your project once you are successful as I have recently bought a 2008 Avensis and will get the car by the weekend and would like to transfer my sub system to the new car. If you could help me then it might save me some money for getting halfords to do it. Also if you could share how difficult was it to get the main head unit off and does the head unit have a RCA out or would I have to fit a crossover from one of the speakers..?? Thanks
  14. Hi, Purchased a Avensis 1.8 vvti tr 4-Dr 2008 reg. It has a in built sat nav unit in it. My first question is can I attach a reversing camera to its display or I need a new screen? Does the cd player have a sub woofer output in the back..? Does the company cd player have enough wattage to handle a sub woofer or would I need a separate amp..!! What is the latest map disc for it for UK. I am getting a E10 cd with the Sat nav. Didn't think it would be appropriate to have different topics for each question. Hope that's ok with mods. Thanks in advance..
  15. Just Bought a Avensis 1.8 petrol 2008 reg yesterday. The price on the windscreen was advertised as 7999 but the price for the same car was 6999 on the toyota used car website. They didnt budge much or the price but agreed to do some work on the car which would have costed more than a couple of hundred bucks. The rear bumper had scratches from heavy suitcases being pulled out from the boot...they agreed to re spray the bumper...the bottom of the front bumber was scratched a lot due to them rubbing on the road at road bumps...they agreed to replace it to new. And a few other bits and bobs. If they are not negotiating much on the price...I am sure they will be more willing to do these small touch ups for you instead as its not a big investment for them..!! All I am saying is that even if you cant get a big discount from them...you can get some value out of the transcation by asking them do such things...
  16. Hi, Bought a Avensis 1.8 VVT-i TR 4-DR 2008 reg and 37000 miles on the clock for £7000....very clean interoir and exterior. Bought it from a Toyota dealer with 12 months Warrenty... Hope I got the right thing for the right Price..!!! I had a Renault Laguna earlier and the folks at the renault forums were very helpfull. I am sure I will find good folks here too whenever I need help. And I will try to contribute as much as I can from my side as I learn more about the car.. Looking forward to interacting with some of you in the course of time...!! Cheers Sidd
