  1. I checked the Gov.uk website today and I've got 6 months extra MoT for free.Now that's the sort of viral side effect I can live with.

  2. Pensive - my 2ZZ block looks like it's probably not useable which kind of b***ers up my plans for my entire 2ZZ T22 project,which up until now has been proceeding fairly nicely.

Today is the day i'm meant to get this Celica.Everything has gone wrong including my bank acc being hacked and cleaned out.I'm £150-200 short of what I need and the latest bus goes at around 1pm so I've no idea one way or another if I'm going to own that car this time tomorrow.If I was in to augers and omens I'd forget it completely because I've been frustrated at every turn but I'm so damn bloody minded that I'm just not gonna let a bunch of Eastern European theives thwart my plans........right now I've no clear idea how but I intend to make it to buy this car or die trying lol

  4. Put my now 15 year old T22 vvt-i in for the retest on mon 08/05 and again she went through with just 2 advisorys..... weeping power steering hose and having fully modified suspension lol.

    She's a 166,000+ miler with the infamous 1.8 vvt-i 1ZZ-FE engine that does go through oil quicker than what would normally be healthy yet she got through the emmisions test.... not just scraped through but passed well.

    Doesn't sound like an oil burner does it. She weeps oil from around the timing gear cover, the chain tensioner area which is very hard to see, I only noticed because I was right in under the engine getting between the block and bulkhead.

    The area around the piwer steering pump is slick with engine oil.

    I often wonder how many vvt-is have been condemned as oil burners when in fact they were weepers/leakers lol.


    Now she's through I can finally turn my attention to rebuilding the motor for her......yeeha !!

  7. Got my rings,head kit with valve seals etc, new pistons, head stripped, flowed, CC'd, port/manifolds matched........all lined up to get done next week as I'm off work. Bound to be someth

  8. Finally went and bought a new compression gauge, tested while still at op temp,throttle wide open etc, etc, etc. 2x220psi 2x210psi with less that 5% variation between all cylinders..... am a much happier boy seeing what i already knew confirmed on an analogue gauge with a needle lol

  10. Oily plenum,throttle body and back of valves. . PCV valve or properly fitted catch can maybe next... or the springs lol

  12. checked my oil consumption ~ it's a real world 1 litre per 3600 + miles,,feel a lot happier knowing that :)
