I rang toyota and explained to them that an independent garage checked the front arm bush and could not find anything wrong with it. I asked can you please explain what specifically needs replacing or repairing. He just read what was on the service sheet and said if you bring it in, we can show you. This has made quite distrustful of toyota now. The only issue is that my wheels need aligning. However, toyota advised me that I should get the front arm bush replaced first as the alignment will deteriorate until the bush isn't fixed. I'm confuse now.

Breaking and acceleration seem to be fine. Knocking over bumps? Do you mean if it makes a louder than usual noise?

I have just had car checked at local independent garage and they said they can't see anything wrong with the arm bush. They advised me not to pay £299 as it should drive perfectly fine the way it is. Now, is this Toyota trying to rip me off?

I am takin to local garage tomorrow and I will see what they quote. I may ask for price of non toyota frontside arm bush and rear discs.

Cheers Kingo. I will take it to an independent garage tomorrow and see what they quote. Also, they have quoted me £299.99 for rear break discs advising they are worn. How much can you get genuine parts for that? Thanks

Thanks. The car is around 7 years old.

I had my Toyota Auris put through the full service at the Toyota service centre. I completed most of the recommended repairs. However, they advised that the near side front bottom arm bush is starting to come away from th housing and they are quoting £299.99. Can anyone please advise what other garages may charge for such a repair? If the difference is only £30 or so, then I'm thinking il just get it repaired at Toyota. I have rang Kwik fit and other garages, but they want to put it on a ramp and check for themselves before quoting a price. Thanks

I took it into troy garage who removed it for me. They said it was corroded. He said you don't need to stick another one on.

I am totally clueless when it comes to doing any DIY - let alone car DIY. if heat shield needed replacing, what would I be looking at in approximate cost?
-
Cheers frosty. It sounds like that could be causing issue. Any estimate as to how much toyota would charge to correct this?

Hi folks, Last few days my Auris 2l d4d has been making a strange, almost rattling sound. When I start the engine, it makes the noise and when the car is in neutral, parked up. However, when I'm driving it is fine. I'm concerned to what this could be. I'm thinking of taking it to Toyota for them to take a look. Do they charge a flat fee for investigating such issues? Advice appreciated.

They said come back on Monday and they will take it for a test drive. Quick question, if you're driving straight and steering wheel turns to the left ( when you let hands go off steering wheel), is that normal?
-
Will they take it back for free?

I got my service completed from local toyota garage. I had a 4 wheel laser alignment done and they also took the wheels off and performs a service to stop the steering wheel from juddering. I have not driven the car at all since yesterday. The steering wheel slightly locks or moves to the left sometimes. Should this still be happening? Also, I suspect there is still a slight vibration or shake to steering wheel. Is this normal. Thanks for all advice you give folks.
