Thanks for your reply. I replaced the fuel filter recently and it didn't make a difference. I also noticed the problem got really bad when I changed the battery on the car.ill try check all the other things you suggested during this week. Thanks again for your reply.

Can anybody help me with this. I have a 1998 toyota picnic diesel which keeps dying on the road and displaying p1221 fault code. It won't go again till I turn it off and back on but does it again after a short while. I can't drive the car now as it happens to often. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
