  1. Is the tourer actually any heavier - and I’d imagine it is possible more aerodynamic than the saloon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Brings back so many memories of one of the best cars I ever had - a 1997 P reg Carina E 1.8 in silver. Had some work done to it - exhaust, wheels, much sound system work, various bits inside, a Kenlow HotStart fitted, lowered springs, drilled discs/EBC pads etc. I did 100,000 miles in it over 3 1/2 years then sold it for a new Avensis (which lasted 8 months before I bought the car I really wanted - a new Subaru Impreza WRX). Now back in an Avensis (alongside my Lexus GS450h). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 100% sorted for me - this is it months after I Silkaflex’s the rear lights and gaskets, the roof rails and the paint joins at the hinges, as well as replaced the Toyota vents inside the bumper followed by rust treating the boot floor - now looks like this after many months : Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Does this affect a specific Avensis? Mine is a 59 plate T27 1.6 valvematic petrol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi. I am replacing all of mine just now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I bought a genuine Toyota one for about £10 all in, delivered, from Toyota UK direct. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. I am about to explore all of this and from research there are several issues: The paint cracks near the roof rails, along joins but very hard to see, so needs the paint sealed up here. Permatex flowable windscreen and glass sealer sorts this. The vents on either side of the inside of the bumper fail around the seals etc. I have ordered a pair of these. The gaskets around the rear lights can fail or become filthy/ineffective. The lights will be striped out to solve this. Hopefully these 3 things will sort the issue for me as it’s not too bad at the moment but has been there since well before I bought it last month. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have tried it on my 2009 59 plate T27 1.6 Valvematic T2 Tourer. It does not work. I have retrofitted the cruise stalk, cable etc - my dash has the light and the Techstream Software even lists it as a setting etc but it just does not work - must be missing something from behind the clutch and brake pedal. 10. Hi all. Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have a 59 plate T27 1.6 Valvematic Petrol T2 without cruise control, and I have upgraded to a leather steering wheel, omplete wit( cruise control stalk. Put it all in - but no luck although I can see CRuise light on dash, and when I scan the car on TechStream it says the Cruise Control ECU is online/active. Anyone know if it is a non-starter for this car? Brian.
  11. I'll update this thread soon as just bought a T27 1.6 Petrol T2 Avensis Tourer, and have a compete T27 D-4D leather wheel coming (with cruise stalk) so I can update everyone on what works and what does not 🙂 If the cruise does not work, I'll still have gained a leather steering wheel for pennies. This is the thread where most of the content will go: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=407726

  13. Hi all, Picked up a T27 2009 59 plate 1.6 (petrol) T2 Avensis Tourer in grey yesterday at Auction @ 115,000 miles. Other than a few things that need seen to (exhaust blow in the centre somewhere, missing trim bits, scruffiness and filth) it's running well. I am looking to source a few bits and wonder if anyone had them or ideas: - Centre Console - the main armrest/lid is missing and also my cupholder does not have the sliding cover - can both be bought separately or should I just pay £50/60 for a complete console on eBay? - I am going to buy a better steering wheel (leather) and that has the Cruise Control stalk on it - do you think it will be plug and play on this car (the light is definitely there on the dash)? It has no service book, but I can see stickers in the engine bay (and visors) for various services etc over the years (it was a main dealer trade in and the auction staff said they often remove them if the service is not perfect). Is it worthwhile flushing the cooling system and does anyone have a decent guide/know the amount of coolant the car needs? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to getting this scruffy beast up to scratch (I'll start and populate a thread on it on Detailing World). Brian 🙂
  14. Emailed them now - will keep you posted :)
