  1. Hi You could try Fensport.co.uk, they do reply to e-mails Just a idea. Pb
  2. Hi Gooner John Roes don't seem to much really . Like how fit a normal radio in a Corolla. Pb
  3. Hi I've been passed the dock where they export Toyota's out of Grimsby & most of the Corolla T Sport Compressors lined up were right hand drive . Does any one have any idea were they are going <_< ? As it doesn't look they are for our country. Pb5
  4. Hi Phil Mine touches as well. But so fay no sign of paint getting marked . But it is probably longer than it really needs to be. T Sport - 25,500 miles. Pb
  5. One other thing. I once had a go in a Almera Gti early version in about 1997. It had much better steering as being only 2.5 to 2.7 turns lock to lock & hydraulic. Unlike the Corolla's 3.5 turns lock to lock (3.2 on new ones) & being electic doesn't help either. Pb
  6. Hi I don't find the original Bridgestone tyres too bad. Mine are still going at 25,000 miles (but have been rotated round once). Not all tyre manufacters do tyres for the standard sized T Sport alloy wheels. (R16 195/55) Pb
  7. Hi Instead of beeping in reverse it should have had a mechanical lockout like my old 1995 Renault Clio (it's reverse gear was out past 1st as well). I think the beep would be less annoying :ffs: if it only did it for a short while when first in gear. The shut lines round my 2003 T Sport's bonnet aren't brill either :o . Pb The Clio had a five speeder.
  8. Hi I can sometimes smell the clutch on my T Sport if it's slipped a bit too much (like pulling away too sharp). But it has never done it in normal conditions in reverse. I know if I mentioned it to my local dealer (no names mentioned) they would deny all knowledge (they don't know much really :ffs: ). Pb
  9. Hi On my T Sport the light comes on with at least 2 gallon left . So may be it's normal for Toyota's to be like that. Pb
  10. Hi My T Sport does around 33mpg (90% out of town A - B roads) on average by my workings. As the in car computer (when I had it) could be anything from 2 to 7 mpg wrong. Always stating more than the car was really doing (probably a delibrate error). After all they don't want the car to look too thirsty when you test drive it. Most it's managed is 37 ish (Goodwood Festival of Speed 280 miles one way). Only did 30 mpg onway back due to driving at 80 to 90 ish . Pb
  11. Hi My CTS doesn't burn oil & it's at 24,500 miles . The only engine I know of that burns oil normally is a Mazda rotary engine. It's level has to be checked every other fuel fill . Have you tried another dealer? Pb5 Too many car companies & their dealers seem to be trading on their past reputation nowadays.
  12. Hi Zuban Just a thought, It might be worth you while to remove the mods you've made & sell them separately . Also some people shy away from a car with mods (even just bigger wheels) :o . Pb
  13. Hi I don't think they will bring it out here . As there aren't so many waiting to be shipped out at Grimsby Docks now. So may be the time has already passed. But if they were really trying to sell them in Germany for £21,000, it's bit to steep at that price :o . PB
  14. Hi When I asked my local dealer in Grimsby about doing the lift bolts to be on the safe side. They never got back to me :censor: . They are convinced they will never break . But I don't think they would be willing to put their money where their mouth is :!Removed!: (so to speak). It wasn't like I was asking them to pay for it :ffs: . My revs do bounce a bit sometimes. But it sounds normal for these (I do run the aircon all year). Also the TC light & VSC light did come on in mine once (probably due to passing a gritter at the time :o ). Only until being restarted. PB
  15. Hi I had my T Sport 20,000 service in April in Grimsby by the local dealer. I posted this at the time: I've just had my 53 reg T Sport serviced (20,000 mile) by my local Toyota dealer (not sure if I should name them). I was quoted £121 for the service & £30 extra for the brake fluid change (my option). But when I went to pick it up the bill came to £181. I mentioned that I was quoted £151 all in, so they dropped the price to £144 (also I winged about charging to fill a full washer bottle). Something about they test the washer system so much it needs topping after. Yer right. I have heard that car dealers charge more in London than anywhere else. One BMW dealer charging over £150 per hour for labour. Pb
  16. Hi I would think the manual should tell you what the will tank hold (mine is 55 ltrs E12). Then next time the petrol light appears, fill it up & deduct the the amount you put in it from the tanks capacity (as my light comes on when there's still 10 ltrs left (which seems a lot even in a T Sport). pb In a 1.3, I would think you should get about 35 plus mpg (roughly 4.5 ltrs to a gallon) out it.
  17. Hi My CTS doesn't like 1st gear down changes either above 5 to 10mph. I've accepted this as normal. As other gearboxes don't mind, might be it's down to either improvements (if newer) or build quailty variations . pb
  18. Mick TS, How much did the service cost then? Pb
  19. Gooner They are in a main export area across the road from the West gate Honda dealer (the roundabout where the Shell petrol station is). They are pretty close to the fence. Most look like they are in grey. pb5
  20. Hi This is what I copied off this forum a while ago about the dimming lights: Technical Information Model Corolla TSport Page 1 of 2 Section: Body Electrical Model Codes: ZZE123 Subject: Headlights Dimming for less than 1 second Status., Technical Information Phenomenon/Symptom: The customer reports that the headlights, interior light and the combination meter dim for less than 1 second whilst driving. Cause Of Phenomenon: During driving the engine ECU periodically cheeks the function of the air pump system. The ECU forces the pump to activate to confirm operation. When the air pump is operated a sudden volt drop occurs and results in the headlight dimming and other associated symptoms Production Improvement: The engine ECU software has been revised. The air pump system is no longer checked during normal engine running. Improvement Effective VIN: T. B. A. Feb,2003 Field Fix: Replace the engine ECU for the counter measure part. NOTE: It is normal for the lights to dim slightly when other electrical loads draw current from the charging circuit. This ECU is for the specific symptoms indicated above ONLY. Part No. Part Name Before Countermeasure After Countermeasure Engine ECU 89666-02090 89666-02091 Note: The above part number information details ONLY the enhanced parts. Additional parts may be required depending upon individual circumstances. Ref: TS3?114 Sept 2003 PB
  21. Hi I've just had my 53 reg T Sport serviced (20,000 mile) by my local Toyota dealer (not sure if I should name them). I was quoted £121 for the service & £30 extra for the brake fluid change (my option). But when I went to pick it up the bill came to £181 :o . I mentioned that I was quoted £151 all in, so they dropped the price to £144 :D (also I winged about charging to fill a full washer bottle). Something about they test the washer system so much it needs topping after . Yer right. One or two other things I asked them about was the lift bolt wear issue (how much would it cost to do, to be on the safe side) & the dimming of the lights while the ecu checks the air pump system. They had heard of neither issue . May be I should ring Toyota in Huddersfield? They might have more idea from what I've read on here . Pb
  22. I've noticed recently there are quite a few New Corolla T Sport Compressor's (just the same as in the pics show here) at the dock side in Grimsby waiting to be shipped out. But I'm still not convinced that Toyota UK will sell them :o (as they didn't for the faster Yaris). Pb
  23. I got my CTS over a year ago (Jan 04) & I done 19,000 plus miles now. I think it handles quite well, but could do with much faster steering rack. Three & half turns lock to lock is a bit slow (my 1995 clio 1.4RT had that rate of steering). It's best in the wet , where it doesn't aquaplain as easy as some cars. The VCS recently managed to warn me of a punture (as well as the car feelling a over steery. I'm fairly happy with it B) , but would be more if the dealer was more use :cacker: . pb5
  24. The trip computers not accurate anyway in my Corolla. So I wouldn't miss it if was not there.
