  1. THREE weeks and the petrol in your tank is stale and damaging to the engine???!!!! In my last Auris Hybrid, I only fill up just within 3 weeks, prior to that with a 3mile commute I fill up every 5 weeks https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/national/uk_today/18484682.5-things-might-wrong-car-lockdown/
  2. Thanks Tony Not sure about quiet - determine to get those all seasons you recommended last time - even if it's a slightly different profile...
  3. Passed earlier in the year With very bad brakes + crackling tyre (6 years old, not 6+ years old)...
  4. Then discovered my other side: 01. Nexen 2018 looks almost brand new 02. But, rear Nexen 2016 dosent look so good neither You think it looks ok?
  5. Well, sun is shining, more places opened - even my local tyre shop is opened So, thought get my 2 dodgy tyres replaced with some part-worn ones just to last me thru the summer (to be on the safe side): 01. Part-worn Dunlop (2013) with 5-6mm (£25) 02. Part-worn Nexen (2018) with 5-6mm (£25)
  6. If I remembered right, all my main dealers cars took years before I had to replace any tyre s or brake pads (average 10k miles) But, my last Auris bought privately had shredding inside the tyres and some of you might remember one went completely flat one day My current Yaris bought from a private dealer, you already know Even my Skoda bought from a Lloyds black horse dealer had a puncture driving home one nights , as the inside had split
  7. Really?! My experience was , apart from private and private garages, all main dealers said to me they would change for NEW brakes or tyres - whenever I pointed them out its low either from the MOT online or my inspection
  8. I drove with those tyres at 70-80mph when I first bought it Since then only driven ONE day to work (just before lockdown!) Now, only drive 60-70mph on by-pass once a week to shop....so holding out so far - but do worry about a blow out
  9. Strength? Can you hold up a full pint? If I was commuting slower speed, might keep it longer - but on motorway -eeek!
  10. Cheers Bernard, was thinking the same - but not sure any tyre places open in my area yet
  11. Passenger REAR : 4 years old, but HUGE CHUNKS of rubber missing! QUESTION: Again, shall I change it immediately?
  12. My bad tyres (passenger side): Front: 6 years old but, CRACKLING all around the tyre on the edges But, it does have GREEN STUFF brake pads (I think) QUESTION: Shall I replace it IMMEDIATELY (as once the lockdown is over, I will be commuting on motorway daily) ?
  13. My good tyres (driver side): Rear : 4 years old Front : 2 years old
  14. I can handle removing door panel or even the whole sun-roof! 💪 But, ONLY if it's an 80s car
  15. Not the trouble-shooting, silly! Just the replacing the bulb bit
  16. Look back on my thread - I bought an OEM wing indicator (translucent part of wing mirror) from eBay about £11 and cheap as chips bulb and did it myself
  17. That's a bummer then As the other side is working, it's not the fuse then... Can you trade the wire from wing mirror to inside car to check there?
  18. Glad didn't pay £50 courier delivery Ordered yesterday (Sunday), and taxi delivered today!
  19. Just checked mine : Jun 2008 Though, I bet in real life you are still far younger than I
  20. Ah I see Thanks again "Mr 'ask Jeeves'" Well, it's the first time I noticed it anyway
