  1. 17s with an offset of 42 will go down 40mm but you will get rubbing on the rear arch liner with passengers in the back, go with fensport or tte springs and if you can afford it replace your shocks with new OE ones as your old ones will knacker quickly if theyve got a few miles on them, i can recommend the fensport springs i tried some others and wasnt that impressed, coupled with KYBs it should be good setup, Hard but good

I sold mine a while ago for £3800 with 56k FSH and in really good nick, it did have wheels and a few extras and went to ireland, if you want to acheive the best price you will have to come to the mainland or advertise in ireland but if your car is as you say, hold out for 3.5k but this may be ambitous as the newer corollas have come RIGHT down in price hence pushing yours lower but the irish are DEAD keen on them and they are sought after over there, So put it on the bay advertise it to the irish (quote ferries flights etc) and be willing to meet on the mainland and you could get good money for it
  3. yup but with over 100k on the clock and from what ive read on here about the various problems and sometimes iffy build quality i can beleive the price, mines got 80bhp less, true but its very rare that you have any topics of the same nature about the AE111s and its cheaper to insure and looks better, im sure it will sell..... eventually
  4. hoho, its one of the best cars ive ever owned its never given me grief of any sort and attracts lots of admiration from all sorts of age groups (it is a corolla after all) i will be sorry to see her go, but go she must, shes on autotrader website today and the mag friday for 4k. I reckon i will get it as shes been fully valeted today and got 6 layers of various treatments yesterday and she looks Amazing so i hope she will be difficult to resist.

Hi all, i know i havnt posted on here for a long time (i think this is my first this year!) but i just dropped in to say goodbye to the owners club as i will shortly be selling my G6R due to new commitments (going back to school at 28!) so a boring ultra economical oil burner is required :!Removed!: Whilst ive not been posting on TOC ive been EXTREMELY busy at work with the intension (until recently) of saving for an engine conversion and was very close to my target of 4k but due to to the fact my jobs w**k and is taking me nowhere fast im going to re educate myself and hard cash is needed. I havnt done an awful lot since i last posted exept all the usual servicing stuff, but i have fitted some KYB shocks at the front and fensport springs all round as the orignal shocks were leaking and the Gmax spings were a bit to low for the rough ***** roads around here. so as a parting shot heres some photos i took today for the trader and myself
  6. it looks like ive been living in it at the mo so its a but whiffy, drove to scotland on sat (9hrs) went to a wedding then drove back on sunday for work mon, but i always keep it clean normally, kinda hoping it might retain a little value in the long run as i got it for a good price.

  12. OOH very nice! wish i could keep mine that clean too, it always looks like its been driven accross a muddy field at the mo (some mudflaps would help tho!) ant what suspension setup u on? is it just springs? or shocks too? sits nicely whatever it is

Hi happy new year all, as above really i am in the market for a personal mp3 player but the sheer selection on offer is boggling anyone got any suggestions/ i am not very fashion consious im after sheer value for money got about £140ish to spend got to get a new one for my hols (lying on a beach is so much easier with tunes)

  16. now that does kinda suck! i would much rather be "at" work over crimbo than being at home trying to enjoy it but always knowing that at any moment the phone could ring and i would have to work. gutted for you but i bet new years will be a good one!! :hokus-pokus: :meet:
  17. i know, a lot of my mates finish today and dont go back till the 3rd! i dont mind working crimbo that much as ive worked every single one of them in my working life but a little extra cash would be nice! (or even a drink or two at work) deffo gonna have next year off (career change coming this year i think) i can handle working over crimbo because new years eve thats it for me, I take the next 5 weeks off and run to the sun B)

  20. ive had my G6R for nearly two years and i cant fault it, if you looking for a 1.6 16v medium car then its spot on as its a bit different from the already mentioned saxos fezzas 306s etc, i quite often have people asking me what it is and telling me how nice it looks and how its a bit different (including an offer to buy earlier this week) it looks good out of the box, goes quite well for its size and retains some value over "normal" corollas (i hope) fuel economy is pretty good too depending on your driving style, i can get a solid 35mpg over a whole tank and thats includes cruising on the mway at well over the speed limit and some b roading etc. theirs a lot of faster cars out there but when was the last time you saw a G6R on the road?
  21. ***** just popped in and found this! shocking mate glad to hear your O.K, lucky escape really, reckon top end for your car would be about 3800 but prob will have to fight it like hell, all depends who's found at fault (i take it there were witnesses?) mondeo price sounds good and there supposed to be not bad cars kinda big (got all the time in the world to get something like that when your all shacked up and got kids (dunno if you are or not?) i might have the springs off you end of jan would now, but just booked MEGA expensive holiday so will have to leave it till then. reckon you should take a trip to hospital with a "neck pain" get a note and dial claims direct
  22. if your planning on keeping the car for a while uprate them but the ride will suffer. i need to replace my front two after crimbo, i think i will go with the konis as the long term plan involves a engine conversion at some point (in the very distant future at the mo ) so adjustable damping would be useful. but if your planning on keeping the car as is go for the KYBs their supposed to be quite good and not badly priced either
  23. the dash lights on my G6R light up red (honeycomb effect) and the console lights up green. 4WD! you won the lottery or something!
  24. i agree it is far fetched but i have seen an indicated 138mph not a true 138 just indicated so its bound to be out somewhat and even then the car was not out of rpm but i do think that anymore would take a LONG LONG LONG time, the factory figure is quoted at 121? which might of been the worst figure from a test batch with a couple of mph knocked off to avoid any false advertising issues within quoted factory figures (they do do it) but i am not about to find out for certain as even brunters 2mile straight would not be enough and the only other way would be for a traffic cop to get me on the M5!
  25. now i am not running a vvti engine but the bhp figures for the 4afe are 109bhp etc and i have had a friendly tussle with a couple of 16v saxos, and the saxos will take it most times (depending on driver ability/balls) mainly due to the power/weight ratio and chassis dynamics (the standard corolla is good handling car but saxos are better standard much as it pains me to say it) if you want to "beat" smaller lighter cars like that in a straight line then buy one yourself, if its a A-B-C thing spend you money on chassis tuning and brakes and be the quickest round the corners you will get much better "perfomance" from your car this way, carrying more speed out of the corners than other "quicker" cars, then spend money producing more power p.s i wouldnt bother lightening your flywheeel unless your going to lighten balance and blueprint/map the whole engine which compared to a conversion to a 4age (130bhp) would be more expensive and less worthwhile. ive seen an indicated 138 (prob only really 130-135) but only after a good distance in sixth (lots of rpm left) but 5th pulls well upto 115-120, probably could of had more than 138 but ran out of road
