  1. Did the lighting LED upgrade(Interior, boot, number plate & park) to my Auris and I am loving it. Next is to save up for decent sound upgrade plus head unit. Love my Auris Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  2. Stop start Varta battery in not cheap at all.
  3. Correct 2013 models and up. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  4. Since I own the same car with the same engine, I have accepted the car's performance and appreciate it for what it is. The only things that I am looking is do a neat simple audio upgrade as the factory system is useless and terrible, get a nice set of wheels and maybe 30mm springs to drop slightly. It is still running the OEM exhaust system with the CAT still in place and I saw on the Internet that these car's have an aftermarket Air filter available. I enjoy the car as it is comfortable and reliable as it does its daily duties with no fuss at all with no issues at all. There are cars that are meant to be good realible daily drives. What I have do to date is just lighting LED (interior and exterior) upgrade. My car already has the wiring for fog lights so I will also buy a set and install. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

So on my phone 2011 Auris I was due for gearbox oil change since the gears started to be sticky especially when cold and from price point of view. The Toyota Gearbox oil was cheaper as I got 5L @R536 where as Castrol same spec oil as Toyota it would have cost me 3L @570. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  6. I would like to check if anyone recently has had the above recall attended to on their Auris by Toyota? How long did it take for them to replace the faulty airbag? Just checked on Toyota website my VIN and car is listed to have the front passenger Airbag replaced. My Auris model is a 2011. The other day the Airbag light on the cluster did not want to go then after another restart it went off. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  7. UPDATE : so I went to toyota to get the washers and they supplied me with an incorrect size for the filler bolt (19mm) as it is a smaller washer that is needed. The bottom washer was the correct size, so went ahead to drain the oil and refill. I need to go to toyota again and get the correct size for filler bolt. Gear changing feel much smoother and I am happy. In other news: I inspected my V Belt and noticed that it needs replacing, got a price of R920 for the OEM belt at toyota and opted to fit a MEYLE brand from GW Gold wave which cost R150 Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks Greg for the info, I will go past my local Toyota Dealership and get the washers. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  9. So yesterday I was doing my oil change at 208000km and noticed that the gearbox is sweating a bit with oil. I will giving the gearbox a good clean, so that I can trace the oil leak plus I am due gearbox oil change. I am not sure if there is a seal that is used on drain plug. Will take pics and upload tomorrow. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  10. My 2011 Auris also has that irritating click sound for over 50 000km when I travel at 120km/h then when I drive at slow speeds going over speeds humps you can hear the clicks sound. When the car was still getting serviced by Toyota Dealership, they told me that my Steering rack needs to be replaced at a cost of R15 000. I once went to my local repair shops to have a look and I was told that my Steering rack needs replacing and honestly there is nothing wrong with the rack itself. So I went to a Toyota Dealership to get pricing of the shaft assembly that connects to the steering rack and the quote was R3.500 for the part. I will be taking the car to a steering rack shop to have a look and advise. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

My 2011 Auris has days as well too of not going into gears especially when cold. I am going to be doing an oil change on the gearbox using the oil from toyota. Will just need to check prices. Car currently is on 205 000km Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  12. Geeez Sounds like there is piston ring failer and motor needs to be stripped and rebuild. Is there any smoke at all? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  13. It should work fine with no issues.
  14. That car was not designed to a performance hatch. When toyota was building it, it was meant to be a daily Point A to B car. Don't fiddle with that good reliable car, rather sell it and buy a car that is turbo charged from factory. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  15. I found myself this nice radio(Kenwood DDX418BT headunit) that I am looking to upgrade to sometime this year. Plus I love the fact that it has wiring for the OEM Steering controls. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
