  1. Hi everyone Anybody got any solutions for this? If I shift from 1st to 2nd really slowly then the clunk is not present, but that would mean accelerating pretty much at a snail's pace. Alternatively, at what rpm/ speed do you tend to shift to 2nd gear?
  2. I agree that it's the handbrake alert; happened to me a couple of times.
  3. Thank you all for your thoughts, experience shared and advice! I was initially unsure about taking it further but I'll definitely call them back tomorrow to see if they're willing to do anything about it. If they refuse to do a repair under warranty at this stage and you were in my position, would you pay for the repairs out of your own pocket to get it fixed asap and avoid any ensuing consequences of it failing? Or would you stick with their advice on the premise that if it does actually fail, they would likely cover the cost of the repairs (but you would have to deal the consequences of the pump failing/ overheating engine during a commute/ road trip?)
  4. My car's just been in for an MOT at a dealership and they've found 'light crusting' from water pump; which I understand to mean that it's on its way out (correct me if I'm wrong). They've told me to just keep an eye on it for now and let them know if I notice any leaking/ further crusting. Car's only done 20,000 miles and is within 5 year warranty. They've quoted £280 for a new pump + fitting in case I need one 😧 should this not be covered under warranty if it happened only in 20,000 miles? Also, if it should be covered under warranty, would it be reasonable of me to ask them to fix it now rather than wait for it to potentially fail whilst I'm on the road and cause more issues?
  5. Hello! I'm wondering if I could ask your help identifying what this protruding cracked plastic part is ( vertical piece of plastic with the horizontal crack at the top in the first picture)? It's on the front passenger side under the car (2015 aygo): I've spent hours on parts websites- closest I could find was wheel arch cover/lining as it seems to be part of a large piece of plastic that also runs up the inside of the wheel arch, but none of the wheel arch liners that I could find seem to have this protruding bit attached to them :S Would really appreciate any help/opinions!!!
  6. Thanks for your suggestion. I have looked under the hood and the bonnet stay has always been firmly clipped in- I have noticed though that the actual stay clip itself is slightly loose in that I'm able to wiggle it about- not sure how tightly it's supposed to be attached to the bonnet though :S
  7. Thank you for your suggestion. Because it has been so intermittently present recently ( not heard at all in the past 2 days), I'm waiting for a chance to record it before going to the dealer just in case they can't reproduce it on the day.
  8. Hey everyone! For the past 3 weeks, I've been hearing a rattle at just under 3000 rpm- kind of a metallic rattle/chatter coming from the front of the car. It's always at that very specific rpm- i.e if I held the accelerator at that specific point I would hear the noise continuously but the noise is not present if the rpms exceed or are less than the specific narrow band of rpms . It's very obvious when it's present but on some days it does seem to disappear. There's no particular thing that I can think of that would cause the rattle to be present or not and the route being driven has been the exact same. When the noise is there, it is present both when: driving at that specific rpm revving to that specific rpm whilst the car is in neutral Might be worth noting that a few days before these issues started, I had an intermediate service and two new front tyres from a toyota dealership. As well as this, I had previously been driving over some terrible roads so unsure if the pot hole gods have decided to gift me with repair bills. I would therefore really appreciate any advice regarding: could this be normal? If not normal, do you have any suggestions as to what it could be? What do you think I should do about it?
