  1. I will try switching to normal for a bit and seeing. The only thing is with the weather/temperatures up and down at the moment how accurate it will be... On my morning commute to work I get between 65 and 70mpg on my onboard computer these last few days. With the mild weather sticking around until Thursday I can try a back to back in consistent conditions and seeing. Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the matter! 🙂
  2. Regarding ECO mode aside from setting the a/c to be less powerful and taking some of the response out of the accelerator does it do anything else? Its particularly interesting given Catlover your comments regarding your gen4 prius... I've driven in ECO 95% of the time since I've had the car but may start driving in normal if there isnt a benefit to it.
  3. I recall I let mine get to 0 and the light come on and there was about 5 liters left when i refilled it.
  4. Except it doesnt seem to work when the car is in motion?
  5. I have mentioned many times before for me personally the entire Toyota media system is crap. Its slow to respond, hard to navigate and doesnt look nice. I have used the satnav once, and still use Waze on my phone every time. I want android auto to get waze on the nav screen. You may be happy with the Toyota system, I'm not. Coming from BWM's iDrive again the Toyota system is terrible for me. Other benefits of Android auto is not having to update the maps every 6 months and then paying for further updates after 3 years. Some like Toyota's MM system whilst others want and need Android auto to be able to enjoy their cars to the full. No harm in that.
  6. Totally agree... for me once Android Auto becomes available I have the perfect car!
  7. Wonderful, thank you for the information. I will do my update on my next trip : )
  8. I will be updating my maps for the first time with this. For those of you who have been through the process already...Can you update the maps whilst driving? I dont really want to be sat in the car for an hour potentially idling whilst parked. So I wonder if I am doing a journey it can be done then?
  9. On a previous car (non Toyota) the TPWS would come on if tyre pressures dropped by more than 10%. Chances are most have filled their tyres and set the system when temperatures are double digits so when the cold mornings and evenings are drawing in then it reduces pressures compared to when filled. As the temperatures continue to fall I periodically refill the tyres as it gets colder and set the pressure.
  10. I'll keep an eye on this topic, if it does have android auto let us know! 🙂
  11. Shocking that they would have pumped them up that high surely it even exceeds the max pressure on the tyre wall? It would explain the noise and handling characteristics though.
  12. I had no idea about this I did notice it mists up quite a bit and my old car didnt use to fog up when it was parked up over night. I will clean the windows inside and hopefully it resolves the issue.
  13. Reading things online it looks like the new Jazz will be out 2020 some time, its one of the cars that is due to make an appearance at the Tokyo Motor show according to some sites.
  14. I didnt try any that I was going to buy in direct comparison but I have driven friends/family cars in the past. RX450h, IS 300H, CT200H and 2nd gen prius, Yaris Hybrid. I always feel that CVT has been unfairly treated by car reviewers many of whom repeat same same rubbish. For me I enjoy the CVT and there is also the fact that Toyota is known globally for reliability and quality was enough for me to not bother with Hyundai/Kia and of course Lexus is more than I wanted to spend.
  15. Sorry to hijack the thread but say when going in for a service would the maps be updated by the dealer or is it something we have to try and do our selves?
  16. My Corolla hybrid came with Continental eco contact 6. Yes a "premium" brand but my experience with this brand on previous cars is very poor. They wear out very quickly even if driving very easy on the car (less than 6000 miles on a small engined Ford Focus!!). I also noticed and fed back to dealer and Toyota after I took delivery of the car that brand new they had between 6 and 6.5mm of tread! This tyre and brand scores well in tests but the feedback over long term use is wear rates are horrendous. When the time comes to change I will probably move to Michelin Primacy 4 (very good tyre with good reviews and Michelin promise it performs right down to 1.6mm) or the Cross Climate+. I've had a summer and winter set on my previous BMW and I am little nervous in trade off on the Cross Climate+.
  17. For me it was my hate of the interior of the Prius. Nothing personal for those of you who do have one but its bizzare and unnerving for me....I would have bought the Rav 4 too had it not been for the much longer waiting times and lack of good long term 0% deal.
  18. Regarding the advice given so its best to have the front of the car facing a wall or reverse park so the exhaust is harder to access??? Seems to conflict? " · Park close to fences, walls or a kerb with the exhaust being closest to the fence, wall or kerb to make the theft more difficult. · Avoid parking your vehicle half on the pavement and half on the road, as this may make it easier for thieves to access the catalytic converter. · If parking in a public car park, consider parking alongside other cars and facing your bonnet towards the wall if possible. With the catalytic converter positioned at the front of "
  19. Wow thats great news! so if they retrofit/update in the UK then 500PLN = about £100? seems like a bargain to bring the car into the 21st century
  20. I'm in the same boat. I love the car but shocked beyond belief at the lack of smartphone integration (android for me). I hope they do add it and allow it to be retrospectively added to Corollas. I intended to keep the car 7-10 years ,so that long without smartphone integration is crazy and certainly would make me look elsewhere in future (as much as I like the car!)
  21. I turned the keyless off quite soon after getting the car. Its a great feature that is very convenient to have but I'd rather not risk the scum of the earth trying their chance with a relay attack to take the car.
  22. Thats really unfortunate and must be so frustrating! Do you know what the name of the Bridgestone is? In the past I used sites such as BlackCircles and TyresOntheDrive, you can input your tyre size and select the brand. In the case of Black circles you can choose where it gets fitted and Tyresonthedrive will come and fit the tyre at home//work for you.
  23. A bit late to this thread but it was warm a few days back and I thought as I walk up to the car I would open the windows by keeping unlock held down (worked on my other cars) and nothing happened...so its a no. I have the hybrid hatchback.
  24. So from my understanding it is used when you are swapping to another set of wheels which have tmps codes, for example a winter set...
  25. wow some great mpg there, I wonder what message it gives once the eco score reaches 100 🤣
