  1. Well i hope they have taken the tree to a recycling centre and not just dumped it by the roadside๐ŸŒฒ
  2. Still getting a Christmas tree on the opening screen. Also snowflakes falling on car screen. Have they never heard of 12th night and the bad luck. Or are they waiting for Epiphany?!
  3. But will you remember where you wrote it down!๐Ÿ™„
  4. In reality such speeds can rupture the dilithium crystals due to vortex stratification.
  5. Just on the phone. The phone only connects to toyota via the web to access to the data. Data goes from car to toyota server via the cars inbuilt mobile network interface.
  6. I had a similar problem when they upgraded myT app about a year ago. I had originally installed the app when i got the car in mid 2019. At that time if i recall correctly it said to access all the data i had to contact the dealer to set it up which i did. After the dealer had set up their end they upgraded my phone app but apart from a new phone screen layout there was still some data missing. After 1/2 hr of their "expert" trying to solve the missing data he said it was probably waiting for the server to update the data and to do a few trips before registering!!!!!! After a few weeks still no joy so i uninstalled myT and then downloaded the app, installed it again and - hey presto. It worked including showing all trips since the visit to the dealer. Hope that helps you.
  7. Yes the driver can lock them manually but no automatic locking. I was surprised that auto locking not available at drivers discretion. Last 3 Audis i had it was standard but you could disable it.
  8. There is no autolock option in uk/eu. If i recall it correctly it to due to the safety test legislation. After a crash the doors have to be unlockable from the inside if they have auto locked. As they cannot get a volunteer to sit inside during a crash test it can't be tested so its not available! It makes you think what are the statistics of people being locked in cars after a crash vs muggings/hijackings at traffic lights and road junctions

  10. Adaptive speed control is in 5mph increments but when you first enable it it will use the speed you are at. The it goes up to nearest 5 or 10. You can set the over limit red in 1,3 or 5 (ithink) I have it permanently set to 5. BUT the adaptive speed control over limit alarm is permanently set to 1.2mph. And in hilly areas it goes off like there is no tomorrow as it can't seem to cope(4 bongs).
  11. Twice as long as from an end to the middleโ˜บ
  12. Speed limit warning is independent of cruise control. The cruise control overspeed warning happens at just over 1mph above the set speed. Dashcam recording shows it happening at 28mph.
  13. Found it. 4 Bongs Toyotas best undocumented feature explained in the second entry on this thread. https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/194047-corolla-cruise-control-and-incoming-calls/?tab=comments#comment-153
  14. Have a look at this topic. When i first got the car there were so many beeps and bongs it confused me to hell. My problem was in fact 4 bongs not three as the topic title. At the end of the topic is a dashcam with audio. It took Toyota UK and the dealer 9 MONTHS!!!!!! to come up with the explanation and its pants! I think i posted a update and will post a link when i can find it. https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/188632-3-beeps/
  15. Tried this (from amazon @ ยฃ12) and in the glorious sunshine we had in UK over the last two days it worked a treat. Thanks for recommending it catnash. Did not use much so even if it needs doing every month the bottle should last a long time.
  16. Yep my 1919 hybrid corolla 2L excel was fitted with that option. Its one of the few poor design features on the corolla. I tried wipes that were supposed to give a mat finish but that did not work. I now use, on the drivers side, a piece of thin black mat foam from Hobbycraft. It reduces the glare but takes off when blowing air to windscreen or when windows open or door open! Would welcome any suitable alternative solutions.
  17. I had a tapping noise over bumps and it was an unused rear seat belt tapping on the door trim. The unused belt should be tucked over a flap of belt so the soft belt cushions against door trim!!!! Its what is known as an undocumented feature๐Ÿ˜Ž Worth checking
  18. I have to agree that parallel park assist can be a bit hit and miss. My first experience with this was with the audi system in 2010 and it performed well in most circumstances apart from when the cars you were parking between badly parked ( on the curb or diagonal) or when the parking slot was on the bend. You had to watch this as it was easy to curb your alloys. Having a Corolla for a year i have found their park assist to be a little less tolerant to others bad parking or when you have a monster truck and mini to park between than the audi system. I would agree with Andrewc and its not a fully automatic autopilot but an aid to parking allowing you to keep a lookout for cars and people. You can always take back control manualy instantly if you need to.
  19. My 2L Excel was the showroom car and it was hooked up to a battery charger. My car was left for 4 weeks during lockdown in my garage after which i moved it on to the drive and left it with ignition on in P. Had no trouble starting engine.
  20. I think you have a valid point but you need to take into account the position of the moon. Gravitational pull of the moon on the car can significantly improve mpg. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
  21. Small map on home screen is north up only. I has problems with the 3d option resetting to 2d north up on my 2019 model but the software update in March this year fixed it. It now also retains the voice guidance setting when the ignition is switched off and on.
  22. How many hills can you get in a Corolla? As many as you want untill its reached the peak capacity.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  23. Cruise Control. I have 2019 2L Excell and the cruise control exhibits same problem. Its equipped with standard cruise control and radar adaptive cruise control. Its its not at all downhills its a problem as engine breaking works ok but when the slope increases it can't cope. It even has problems going uphill when the gradient suddenly eases. Its almost as if the software has not heard of the breaks. BUT - if you use the radar adaptive cruise control and come behind a slow moving vehicle the breaks slow you down to match the speed of car in front. WORSE STILL - If you have cruise control set and alarm set to warn of going over speed limit from road sign recognition (set mine to max of +5mph over limit) then at over limit +1mph you get a 4 bong alarm which is a bit distracting as its not documented. Took Toyota and the dealer 8 months of investigation (and lots of dashcam footage with sound recordings) for them to say it was a standard feature. (Which i interpret as "tough luck mate we are doing nothing about it so learn to live with it") Watch it here on the flat! As for phone problems. Can't help. UK numbers with +44 when calling me in UK are ok. Dont get calls from abroad anymore after retiring and becoming UKcentric!!!!!
