Hi Steve I wondered if you could help me. I am trying to get hold of geniune spare parts for my 1.6 manual J38 TNE Toyota Sera.
I used to be a member of the original Toyota Sera Owners Club. I'm not sure if that is still running or if Andrew is still the contact for the club. I'm not sure if you can help me or if Andrew is still the best contact.
My Sera MOT is due on the 8th March and I have arranged with my local Toyota dealer to do the MOT. Last week they had a general look over the car but when they looked into obtaining geninue spare parts they found that Toyota have discontinued the parts for the Toyota Sera a couple of years ago. As it stands the car would not pass the MOT as both front & back windscreen wipers smear and the arms have corroded. There car sits on the front drive as i have no garage to house it is when not in use.
I had been using a small local garage up to that point but after last year when they struggled to find parts they said they did not want to do the MOT this year. So I hadn't choice but to visit my local dealer.
I have loved my Toyota Sera from the moment I drove it back down the motorway from Manchester to the Midlands and I want to keep it going for as long as i possiblly can, but the problem with obtaining replacement parts will have a knock on effect.
I would appreciate any help you can supply andI look forward to your reply.
