    Tyre Advice

Thanks for the replies I don't have anything to compare them to, noise wise, but I don't think they would have been my first choice of tyre. I'm going to leave them at the 38psi set by the dealer and keep an eye on the wear. My only previous experience of an AWD vehicle was a Isuzu Trooper I owned many years ago; the uneven tyre wear on that was awful, which is why I was initially keen to do the rotation thing on the RAV. I'm also hoping to hand this car back at the 3 year point with its original tyres on it, although whether that's realistic I'm not sure.

    Tyre Advice

My RAV came fitted with with Toyo Proxes R46a 225/55R19 tyres. On delivery they were inflated to either 40 or 44psi, can't quite remember which; I assumed this might have been for transit/storage. The manual and info plate on the car say 33 psi is the correct pressure; so over the last 12 months I have kept them at 33psi. The manual suggests rotating the wheels on the vehicle every 3000mles; I did this at the 3000 mile point but haven't done it since. Yesterday the car was serviced, it has done just short of 7000 miles. The tyres were checked; the report said each tyre had 6.5mm inside, 7mm centre and 6.5mm outside. Since all the tyres read the same, I'm wondering whether its worth the hassle of the rotation (I don't have a spare, so its a bit of a pain to do). Also, the wear seems to indicate I'm under-inflating the tyres and I see that the garage has adjusted the inflation to 39psi. So what are the thoughts on rotation and correct tyre pressures?

    1st Service

Mine also only shows the Hybrid health check, and its the same on the Webpage.

Yes, close and open; holding down the lock button closes any open windows, holding down the unlock button will open the windows. Its something I had on a BMW a few years ago, didn't use it a lot, but it did come in handy a few times

Service done; eCall recall work done; I also got them to activate the key fob window control. A short video of the health inspection sent to my phone (this is a first for me). As quoted £195.

You've saved a few bob then, as I've been told my service tomorrow will be £195, and I've just paid £76 for my second year Roadside Assistance.
  8. My 2021 model is also badged on the rear door as AWD-i

Agreed, not particularly useful, you'd think they might put something more specific on the 'My Toyota' page. I was aware of it as I'd had a letter from Kinto, who are the finance people for my lease and therefore the owners of the vehicle.

This is what it states for mine...

Mine is also booked in for its first service next week, but the only recall notice I've had was described 'eCall Malfuntion/DMC reprogramming'; I wasn't aware of any other recalls (although I guess there will be differences between PHEV and HEV models)
  12. I don't fully trust the in-car Satnav, its tried to take me on some strange routes; routes that are neither quicker or even shorter. I only tend to use the car Satnav if I know where I'm going, but want enroute traffic info. If I'm not sure, of my route I'll use Google Maps, although I don't really like having to plug my phone into the car; I'd use Google Maps all the time if the car had wireless Android Auto.
  13. The USB method can be interrupted as well: I turned the car off twice during my install.
  14. I've did mine from USB this morning and wasn't offered any options.
  15. Just noticed there is a new map update available 2022v1
  16. I've got it, but just causes the app to crash on my phone. I googled it; seems to be a means to park the car when stood outside it (2022 vehicles onwards apparently); not sure it would be legal in the UK, unless on private land. It seems meant for the US market. 21MM Remote Park (custhelp.com) Personally, I'd just like an option like remote locking on the app.
  17. I've not seen a washer fluid warning, but then maybe I haven't run low enough; but I can't find any mention of one in the hardcopy manual. The dimmer for the speedo display is really annoying; my previous cars have had a separate knob for this; having to stick my arm through the steering wheel seems ludicrous.
  18. I have version 4.8.1 and according to my phone (Samsung S21 with Android 12), its using the following amount of space; App 182MB, with 35.45MB of data making a total of 218MB.
  19. I think you'll find the code on one of the plates on the car; the plate that shows the weight of the car.
  20. As Philip says, you can set the car to unlock when the shift is put into 'P', this doesn't have to be done online, it can be done in the car. Select 'Setup' on the multi function display. Scroll down to 'Vehicle' (this is greyed out if the ignition is not on). Select 'Vehicle' then select 'Vehicle Settings' Select 'Door Lock Settings' One of the options listed, is to unlock all doors when shifting to 'P' - by default it is set to Off, but just select On. I've done it on mine and it works a treat.
  21. I have a self charging 2021 Excel with the JBL/PVM, but I can't find anywhere that lists the version of the MM device; on the MyToyota webpage it just says its a ToyotaTouch2Plus; looking on the device itself again nowhere that lists the device; on the software information page it has the DCU and MEU (whatever they are) one is 17TDT2EU the other 17TMT2EU. I would hazard a guess that means mine is an MM17.
  22. Just logged in successfully on both my Samsung Android phone and tablet.
  23. Same here, but I've used it a couple of times today, since the update, so I suspect a server issue.
  24. HEV version on Android Samsung, same graphics, no data protection options presented. No obvious improvements to functionality.
