  1. Another Waze user, via Android Auto, here. The only thing I don't like about Waze is that it doesn't integrate with the turn by turn directions on the dashboard. I've sent Waze a support request about this issue but they didn't seem all that bothered. Google maps does support the dashboard and a recent newcomer called Amigo (by TomTom) also does.
  2. Mine does it when you go under a bridge, or under trees when the lights conditions means the headlights come on. But it doesn't make the screen, or the instrument panel, unreadable, only dimmer, and only lasts momentarily. Anyway, you can disable that functionality within the settings menus, however you might find the screen and dash rather too bright for driving at night.
  3. Try this: Setup -> General -> Auto change to screen - Off
  4. Indeed. I'm not significantly heavier, and the boot was empty. Perhaps I'll get them to check the alignment when it goes in for it's 1st service
  5. For the first few nights driving, back in November, when I first got the Corolla (my21.5) I was frequently being flashed by other drivers. This was on main beam only, not high beam, and it was clear other drivers were being dazzled. My solution was to lower the headlamps from 0 to -1.5 and the flashing stopped ~ even when unladen. Surely that can't be right though, surely 0 should be the correct details for an unladen car.
  6. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/toyota/357350/toyota-patents-simulated-manual-gearbox-electric-cars The company’s engineers recently filed a patent for a simulated manual gearbox, which uses a fake gear stick, a faux clutch pedal and some clever software to control the amount of torque from an electric motor and make the powertrain act and drive like a traditional petrol car. Interesting ... πŸ€”
  7. Ok so this is happening frequently enough now to be annoying. I use the MyT app to record my business mileage and drove to see a customer this morning, and back home again. When I got home I recorded the outbound journey as a business trip, then noticed my return journey hasn't been recorded. So MyT must think I teleported home then?!? Is there something I can do so minimise the lost journeys?
  8. I think you've summarised the differences between the 1.8TS and 2.0TS perfectly. πŸ‘ If fuel efficiency isn't crucial, I feel the 2.0 does provide a much more enjoyable drive.
  9. I have the 2.0 ST Excel in Obsidian Blue, with the JBL speaker upgrade and the Panoramic Moonroof and I couldn't be happier. I've lost count of the number of positive comments about the colour. Mine's a company car though, and as I pay only 15p per mile personal mileage, that changes the complexion of the decision somewhat. I do find the kick-opening tailgate especially useful! 😁
  10. My Seat Leon FR (1.4 Petrol) 2018 could stay in Sport Mode forever ... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  11. I wish I could activate Sport Mode and it stayed active until I disable it, even after switching off the ignition. 😏
  12. Hold down the power button on the head unit to force it to reboot. Power off might very well have the same effect πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  13. Hey this was happening to me for a while too, and whilst I'm not 100% convinced I've fixed it, it's not happened lately. This is the set of steps I took: I removed the phone from the car's Bluetooth settings. Then on the phone I removed the car from the list of Bluetooth devices. I then went into Android Auto settings on the phone, not connected to the car, and removed the car from the list of cars. Then I rebooted the car head unit and the phone. Next I connected the phone to the car via Bluetooth, before connecting to Android Auto via the USB cable. Now when I receive, or make a call, when connected to Android Auto it comes through the headunit. Now, on the very rare occasion a phonecall has connected in handset mode I've been able to select Bluetooth on the Android Auto phone screen.
  14. I agree with @trashman1965 I have the JBL upgrade and, to my ears, it's much improved over the standard speaker setup. I certainly don't regret getting them.
  15. Apparently I have no services available at all. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  16. None of those things affected mine, I'm in a 2.0 ST Excel if that makes a difference. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I tried everything I could find in the navigation settings to disable them, but the only thing that seemed to make any difference was when I disabled "beep" in the main settings. Thankfully mine have now stopped beeping, but I have no idea why yours aren't beeping. FWIW I use Waze via Android Auto and that has speed camera alerts which I find far more up-to-date and relevant.
  17. I've got the Obsidian Blue and I couldn't be happier. I've lost count of the number of times people, even strangers, have commented on the colour! It looks stunning in the sunshine, if you're lucky enough to get any of course. 😁
  18. I wish I could drive for more than 20 miles after I've washed the car, before it looks like I've never washed it! 😝
  19. That's not an error message, that's the car attempting to teach you to drive more economically. By following the guidance on the hybrid indicator on the dashboard the car reckons you'll be able to achieve better fuel economy.
  20. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely pleased with the car overall but there are ones or two things which could be improved upon. I'm sure I'm not alone. I'll go first. I wish I could get the dash to display both analogue and digital speedometer at the same time, instead of one or the other. Your turn.
  21. Yes I've noticed this too. For some reason the camera on this car gets much dirtier, much more quickly than in my previous cars I've taken to wiping the camera in the morning as part of my daily routine. You can bet if I forget for one day it'll be filthy when I come to use it next.
  22. I've don't really understand the complaint about the quality of the rear view camera. It's really only for you to check for obstacles briefly, or help line up when reversing into a space, and it's perfectly adequate for that. It's not like you need it to be pin-sharp for such minimal usage. I sincerely hope people still use their mirrors, and turn their head too! 🀣 I do agree with the dynamic guidelines though, my old 2013 Qashqaui had them and they were pretty nifty. πŸ‘
  23. No, the satnav will always remain in the larger dominant position.
