  2. check the earth lead near the battery, they used to come loose
  3. With Both Immobiliser and alarm on the key it conforms to Thatchams Cat 1 which is the highest level Your dealer may put this in writing for you if needed, I had to on many occasion. I think there is a seperate document with the handbook that states this as well

It had a new short motor (Bottom engine) at about 60,000 miles by Toyota under warranty for burning oil and not been a problem since. No timing belt (Chain Driven) Comes with Leather, Elec sunroof, Sat Nav, 5 x alloys and good tyres, and Towbar. Tested till July, Taxed to Aug Excellent condition for a car of 90k miles with just a very small scratch down the nsr door. This will be a very good cheap car for someone. £1200 o.n.o Available from 17th April (This is when the wife gets her car so he can have the Rav) but viewing available when ever (West Yorkshire or York) Pic available in my album

    Rav4 Alarm

Believe it or not there was an issue on Land Cruiser Amazon where the alarm would go off between 2 & 3am Toyota found it was the plastic radio surround that moved and creaked at a certain temperature and the fix was to foam pad the trim out How somebody found that one I dont know but customer did say it was 2-3am when it happened

    Rav4 Alarm

The key immobiliser is coded not the alarm, You can replace the key fob battery without taking to dealer They did have a problem with an earth strap coming loose near battery, the strap comes loose from the inner wing, also check your battery, Get it drop tested and see what they report
  11. sorry just read your message again, I thought it was 3 car seats, Should fit with the car seat on one side but its a bit uncomfy on your back sat against the edge of the centre seat and no head rest. Experience - twins now 12 though Knowledge 8 yrs working with Toyota
  12. Although it does have 3 seatbelts, you need to bear in mind these seats are removeable and are really just two seats with 3 seatbelts Personally I would doubt you would get three seats in and I dont think the centre seatbelt that comes all the way down from the roof lining will be long enough.
  13. Most Insurance backed bodyshops give a 3yr warranty on their work I personally would be very surpirsed if Toyota accept it as warranty after a paint repair of any kind, Basically all warranty on a repaired/repainted panel is null and void if done outside the Toyota network which is the same of any manufacturer with some insisting on annual inspections at the dealer. In the old days Toyota issued paint certificates to maintain the warranty period on any repaired panels done by them.
  14. slowly in a straight ahead position and it should come off, Can take 100 yards or so if not been on for a while
  15. get a paint depth test done, Toyota will check the thickness of the paint Anything over about 130 microgrammes and its been repainted
  16. Looks to me like its been banged on the edge I would doubt it is covered, The wording external influence may be used by Toyota Looking again Im guessing it may be frt edge Does the door stick out og align to frt door or wing Yaris ahd this issues hence the clear stickers everywhere on the rear arches

    Mot Refusal

3 years with VW Audi dealer 5 years with Citroen dealer 8 years with Toyota dealer 3 years actually with Ford and Now with Honda UK Prior to Honda (I have to say that someone may be watching) Toyota knock spots off any other franchise I have worked with inc Audi VW The Avensis did get noted to VOSA but not because it was a fault, It was a characteristic of the vehicle that did not effect the performace of the car and so that testers know not to fail it on them, Yes the Avensis does have a tough time with reliabilty, but the Rav is up there with the Camry and Starlet for reliability. In 8 years i never ever fit a master cylinder to a Rav, Had plenty of customers and trade question it sinking though. Prior to my current Rav which is my 5th, I had a Freelander (Yes laugh i know & im in the trade as well), I have never known a car so well from underneath to a point every trip was an adventure, Fantastic to drive but I got to know it a little too familier. Sorry but every manufacturer have there problems (New lexus diesel IS models with engines going pop) modern diesels cost a fortune with there finely tuned engines with injectors at £300+ each, Turbo's at £2k Its modern cars and they are not cheap, Its always amazed me how customers would not buy a £250 extended warranty for a car with £15k of bits on but will spend £150 on a laptop or TV. My spongy brake pedal passed its MOT test today with flying colours ! Only my opinion, You may feel you have a bad one, there is one in every model but I know where I would be when it comes to buying a car Japan every day, certainly not a Ford or Peugeot.
  18. 30 mpg normally which can drop to 27 around town You will get 2 dogs in we went to Scotland in the VX Rav for 2 weeks - 1900 miles. 3 adults, two kids and two dogs, roof box and all the suitcases no problem
