  1. Because i dont want to be ripped off. Honestly if i'd wanted toyota i would have said so hence the content of the thread, but thanks anyways
  2. Does anyone know where to buy engine mounts or bushes other than toyota? for MY2007 mk2 d4d Thanks
  3. Okay thanks, whats the score/run down on removing the fuse box that sound easier! Cheers
  4. ^ agree , I dont what its like on the yaris but the ball in sometimes develops a nipple on the slave cynlinder - sanding that down and greasing may help your problem.
  5. Hi, has anyone replaced the dipped lights? The passenger side light looks like a right ball ache to access and i think you need to remove the bumper, but has anyone found better ways to remove the actual housing without removing the bumper ? or at least pushing the housing its self forward for access? Cheers
  6. I think the mk1 looks crap compared to the mk2, but the mk1 t sport is my favorite shape. I have a tuned d4d at the moment and used to have a tuned t sport 7 year ago.
  7. Highly unlikely unless you can somehow squeeze it through the pressure plate, but even yhour going to have to open it up.
  8. I think the clutch maybe going just wondering how long it takes to replace and if you have to do the flywheel at the same time? Anyone used clutchs other than toyota ones? Cheers
  9. I don't know where you got the 10.7 0-62mph its 10.4 0-60mph http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and-figures/toyota/yaris/hatchback-2006/36144/ I have a 405BHP Honda S2000, and the yaris is moderately quick for what it is. I had a remap and it upped to the power from 90BHP to around 108 and an increase of around 25 lb ft. I have gave a 318d a real good go LOL, ultimately very higher up i would lose. I noticed with the remap the power doesnt die off and its got more go uptop too,
  10. Thanks Adam, i thought it would be odd those wouldnt light up. I dont think i would get a garage to do it though lol, i have replaced a light for a starter button in a honda s2000 and that was difficult :( thanks
  11. Hi thanks. The air con light does in the middle, but when driving at night none of the symbols light up. http://www.carpages.co.uk/toyota/toyota-images/toyota_yaris_interior_13_04_06.jpg cheers
  12. Hi thanks. The air con light does in the middle, but when driving at night none of the symbols light up. cheers
  13. Hi thanks. The air con light does in the middle, but when driving at night none of the symbols light up. You can see the middle dial here http://www.carpages.co.uk/toyota/toyota-images/toyota_yaris_interior_13_04_06.jpg cheers
  14. . Hi, On a 2007 d4d zinc, does the heat selector light up i.e the one to select face, feet etc etc - middle knob? The other two do One in the middle http:// www.carpages....or_13_04_06.jpg Cheers
  15. Who'ever told you that you can't remap them due to relearning needs to know what they are talking about/go back to basics. You can remap them but its not a simple OBD port job. What do you think you do when you remap? you alter maps do with torque limiter, duration maps, IQ etc etc Relearning it still retained to an extent.
  16. Hi all, Haven't been on here for a long time. I'm about to do a full service can anyone confirm i have the correct quantity and specs please? (I know the engine is not what toyota specify). Engine oil, 4.5L 5w40 fully synthetic diesel oil Comma Gearbox, 75w90 GL4 think its semi synthetic? Clutch fluid - what quantity? and what grade etc? Brakes - DOT4 1.9L If anyone has any helpful info about what sort of oils to use or why not to use, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance Siray
  17. Hi, I tuned (remapped the ecu) my GF's yaris myself (Its my second profession), i put a dyno up on here a long time ago and it made around 18-19BHP more and about 25 lb/ft torque, that put it at around 113BHP IIRC up from 94BHP - a little higher than standard figures (bog standard). I added a high flow filter and made a snorkle out of fibreglass. There's not a chance in hell you get 140BHP unless that baseline dyno was very high to begin with so and with your mods. In my opinion since working with a yaris and tuning countless other cars you wont get that sort of power mate :(. I think you might make in the low 120's BHP (if stock baseline is 90BHP) - fingers crossed. The intercooler is a side mounted one to begin with too as you know so TBH its not that bad and an FMIC on this tiny engine would yeild around 5BHP more but keep heatsoak at bay which is good. Best going with a bigger turbo to get that sort of power. EGR will do nothing for power but will stop things getting guffed up and the DPF removal should help that turbo spool a little quicker, adding power wise it will be small. Does the car have a CAT too? Got to say though !Removed! good effort and like your mods mate any updates fella? - good to see some diesel tuning on the yaris. Cheers
  18. Ended up @ 117bhp/190 ft-lb torque. Baseline was 91BHP, this an overlay of various tunes and slight change of turbo engagement etc.
  19. It's no hatch hot :D, but i just couldn't stop laughing driving it - go the granddad mobile!. It also doesn't seem to run out of puff as much either highier up. My mate said 'It just not right' :D. I've removed the spare wheel etc and fabricated a snorkle for the stock airbox so it only collects cold air as opposed to warm from the engine bay - though its not substantial. p.s IIRC the stock turbo runs at around 1.4-1.5 bar and has a side mounted intercooler.
  20. That purely depends on how far you take the engine, believe me i could have got more out of it but it started to develop black smoke so i backed off, also the EGT were hot. Black smoke in diesel is un-burnt fuel, the turbo engagement wasn't altered that much either it was pretty much spot on for a good power curve. There's also the issue of what the clutch can take - i didn't witness any clutch slip. Manufacturers build in certain tolerances so to an extent you can always push the engine more, you can boot it everywhere and it may knock off 10% of longevity - it really depends. I'm still testing the car on the road, i did give a BMW 318d a fright though :D
  21. Managed to remap the car today, will upload graphs tomorrow. Lets say that it makes more power than my old yaris t sport :D
  22. 1. Yes, 2. Just the normal stuff nothing out of the ordinary, 3. on a 60mph cruise in the low 70's - booting it ~45mpg
