  1. If it's knocking over bumps the front strut bearings are possibly worn. These don't really affect the suspension or the general running of the vehicle, just a noise nusence.
  2. It's not a good idea to disconnect the fuse as it possibly powers more than 1 instrument light , if you're sure you have enough oil , then i would turn my attention to the oil pressure switch (don't know where it is ) you would have to ask in another topic thread.

  6. Does anybody know where the flasher unit is located as i think mines on it's way out. My indicators keep stopping flashing and so does the hazard lights. They seem to works for a few seconds then slowly stop clicking till they just stay on. It sounds as though the unit might be behind speedo clock somewhere as thats where the clicking comes from when thay are working. I have checked the hazard/indicator fuse , that is ok. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Darryl
  7. Hi , does anyone know where to get the little clip thing that holds the sliding door open/back on a 93 lucida. Or can someone supply one for a nominal fee. Cheers Daz
  8. I got it sorted no problem , removed the sump easily and replaced the instant gasket. No leeka anymore. Oh and put some ptfe tape round dipstick as it tended to leak occasionally from the dipstick as it was a very loose fit .
  9. Hi, if your oil level ever gets that low to the point where the warning light comes on , don't rely on the oil top up tank . Pull the passenger seat and check the dipstick and fill direct to the engine. Once the dipstick says full , then top up the front oil tank. This system is a good idea if it works properly , but the older the car gets the less reliable this pumped system gets. Owing to the fact that the engine is in an awkward place and the oil checks are overlooked and left for longer than usual , this results in the oil turning quite thick and gunky , which then clogs up the float sensor in the sump . This can lead to the pump putting in more oil than the engine needs (this usually leaks out passed the dipstick or through the sump gasket) or it can have the opposite effect and not pump enough oil in to the engine. I wouldn't rely on this system , manually check the level every so often and change the oil every 4000 miles . Then during one oil change drop the sump it's very easy, 16 small bolts and 1 hose. There's no gasket as such, it's just instant gasket. Then just clean the sensor (make sure it slides up/down ok). Ok i'm going on a bit here. Happy Christmas all Cheers Daz
  10. Hi , does anyone know where to obtain a sump gasket for my 2.2td lucida as she's started to leak a bit more after meeting a rather high speed hump which seems to have dented it one side. I think it could do with a replacement sump, how easy is this to change and where would i get one . Cheers Daz :)
  11. Just pull the straps ,tilt backrest forward and turn biggest seat first.
  12. Ebay is usually a good place, i paid £25 for mine.
  13. The key for the spare wheel lock just pushes in ,then you lift the barrel cover off. If you put the key in and turn it, the key will just spin round without doing anything. I also thought that my key was not working untill i realised how it worked.
  14. I think i have found some that may fit Via Ebay , just got to wait and see when they turn up. If not I have some but you can buy them from toyota direct there not cheap though The ones i got from ebay did not fit, the thread and the pitch was fine but the spline spacing was different (but they were for a corolla) i thought they might fit. I ordered 5 from Toyota £3 each , they needed the chassis/frame number to identify the correct part. They should arrive in 2 days. Thanks for your help. Daz While i was buying the studs from a Toyota main dealer, i thought i might as well get a new set of wheel nuts. I was qouted £35 for 5 std nuts, not the type for alloys, just plain old wheel nuts. I asked him to check the price again as it was only £3 for a stud , "he said the price was correct". so i just took the studs and left.I ended up getting 5 new chrome wheel nuts from Ebay for 99p each. I can't see why the nuts are so expensive when the studs had to be specialy ordered in for me and are about 5 times the size of a wheel nut and only cost £15 for 5 .
