  1. Come on Guys I started this post to get you all drooling over my TSport, not to have you niggling at each other about tyres, what I've done with my TSport was to please me, not suggest that mine is better than a stock TS, just that little bit different now, make it mine thats all, so please if you want to have a post discussing the pros and cons of tyre and wheel sizes start a new one, I'm no expert so can't really comment, I followed the advice of others and that of the tyre review that was done in a mag, which just so happened to use a Corolla TSport to test them on, and even luckier for me they used 17" wheels, and the one thing I do know Bobby is that the Speedline Course Wheels fitted to mine do have the correct offset to match the car, so you don't have to stick with 16's to achieve this. ;)
  2. Hi Guys thanxs for you comments, Rhaines, i know what you mean, (and again not wishing to offend any one who still has the standard wheels/tyres fitted), you should see it with the stock 16's. I was lucky to have read a tyre test that was done using a TSport, and the test was done using 17" wheels all the test drivers agreed it made a big difference to the cars hanling and grip, so I fitted my from new, doing a deal with my local dealer for the 16's but suppling my 17" wheels and tryes. I had two long test drives in the demo and had the VSC beeping a lot, on the same test route my car fitted with 17's only gets the light flashing, now with the lower springs it just flys round. Jerry what exhaust you thinking of, I'm new to this, have you seen the TTE twin exhaust? Bobby the 30mm drop still gives plenty of clearence, UK roads are not great, and we have some very big speed humps to content with, you may find they could work for you.
  3. Hi Guys, as promised click the link to see pics of my TSport Corolla, pics show the latest mods, TTE 30mm lowering springs now fitted, TTE front spoiler and the Toyota UK side skirts, all the work was done by JCT600 at Hull, The appearance of the car has been improves quite a bit since fitting the springs, I also think the front spoiler adds a lot to the cars looks, the side skirts are something a lot of you will have comments on I'm sure, but for me it works, just enought to add to the looks with out being to dare I say it Max Power boy racer, look. I'm impressed with the way the cars handling has been improved since fitting the springs, the beeping from the VSC is much less frequent, and the roll felt when pushing hard through the corners is all but elliminated, trust me i've tried this last week, all in all i'm very pleased with the changes, and now await the TTE twin sports exhaust, and quick shift gear change, come Steve whare are they :P Jake's T Sport Corolla
  4. Hi Guys at last I've got the pics done sorry for the delay, hope you'll think it's been worth it, again thanks to Steve @ JCT Hull, I know I promised to get the pics up but work got in the way Jake's Toyota T Sport
  5. Hi guys going to be a slight delay, I have to go away for a few days with work, so pic will be delayed, but this will give me more time behind the wheel, which is a lot more fun now
  6. Bobby, The TTE 30mm springs are designed to work with the exsiting dampers that was the reason I and others have opted for them, plus we will not have any warrrenty issues should problems occur many miles down the road, and now having had a few more miles in the car since fitting them, I am very happy with my choice of up grade, I have a stretch of road I cover frequently, which has a section that inludes some great bends, your start by going over a slight humped bridge, previously 85ish would have the car almots of the ground this is follewd immeateately by an off camber bend, get the hump wrong and you in bother here, today i took the humped bridge with a three digit figure on the speedo, and the bend was swallowed up with ease, the car sits much flatter through the bends and hugs the ground better, I would agree with any one who thinks Toyota should sell the car like this as standard, for the type of car it is the TS needs this extra hadling. I also can not over emphasie the inhanced appearance of the car with out so much space around the trye. the figures above are mph not K. :D
  7. Hi guys thanks to Steve and his crew at JCT Hull, my T Sport, now has the TTE front spoiler, TTE springs and Toyota UK 3/4 side skirts fitted, the look is fantastic (well what did you expect me to say) will post pics this week end. it really has inhanced the apperance no end, as i already had 17" wheels fitted the clearence around the tryes now looks far better, but with out being so low as to have to worry about all the speed bumps around the uk these days, hadling has also been inhanced but its to early to give to much feed back give me a week or so to get used to it and give it some stick on my favorite drives, one thing i will happily repeat, is that Steve and all the staff over at JCT Hull did a great job, and made me feel a valued customer, keeping me informed all the way through the process from initial enquiery to completion of task, would have no problems recommended them to any one, worth the travelling to Hull and back. :D If you life to far away to travell Steve is happy to do mail order to (Alydee) and others. :)
  8. Hi Steve, you ready for this red line is 8200rpm, like a motor bike on four wheels, the engine note, chages at at 4200rpm, to a impressive throaty rumble, then as you pass 62oorpm the roar is quite something ok around 8200rpm its suggesting thats the limit, but hey thats what the limiter for
  9. :D I have just got my TSport Corolla back from the workshop having had the TTE 30mm drop springs fitted, I have had 17" wheels with 215/45 fitted since i got the car, after only 2 hours driving I completely agree with SP this has done wonders for the cars apperance, and has improved the cornering, though I must addmitt to being impressed with how it hanled previously, and with out effect the comfort too much. This is my 3rd Corolla but the first car I have had that I would consider to be a perfomance car, it provides me with a huge grin every time I drive it, and I continually leave many BMW's and others way behind. Blade why would you wish to turn the VSC off ?????
  10. Hi sp/col sp the car is in the workshop today (05/03/03) I collect it tomorrow, weather permiting I'll takes pics on the weekend and post them same day, Uk cost as follows TTE Front spoiler £168, plus painting and fitting TTE springs £222 plus fitting Toyota UK spec side skirts, price and availabily TBC, these are the very first to be fitted expect to see more info soon.
  11. Hi Blade, Firstly may i say that it's good hear you suffered no serious injuries during your crash. But to blame the cars poor handling, I'm not sure you've come to the right place for sympathy, we are all very found of our T Sports here and although I have seen a few criticisms of the car yours is the first I've seen that suggests the car has poor handling, You don't give any details of how your crashed occurred or the time of day/ night and driving conditions, so I would jump to the conclusion that your a bad driver. But I can testify to the use of all the safety features the T Sport comes with, and have just about found the limits of the car, and they are fair better than my limits as a driver, proved by trying the same corner twice with and with out TC on, showing me just how much the car does assist my driving. My T Sport is in the workshop today (05/03/03) having TTE f/spoiler Toyota UK side skirts and TTE lowering springs fitted, I'll be perfectly honest here and admit to having the springs for two reason the first for me, being looks, and secondly the ride. But I'm not expecting to now go out and drive the same route that much quicker, but will let you now my views in a week or two ;)
  12. Hi Steve, when i got my Corolla T Sport, i was told by the dealership and was confirmed in the handbook, that it was recommended that for the first 500 miles i stay below 4000rpm and from 500-1000 miles i build up to 4000-6000 rpm, where after you good then build up to the maximum legal limit of speed for your country, I followed the first two points to the letter of the book, even though as rhaines points out i like most most keep a car more than 3 yrs. No having passed the 5000 mile mark that was more signifficant than the previous as the dealer had told me i would see a marked change in performance after that, and i believe this to be correct, the engine does feel freer now and is only too willing to sing its way up to 8200rpm, and it's at this point in 2nd that i have difficulty with the orinal point 3, and the stig in me takes over B)
  13. Hi Jerry, like you i have had to make this desicion, my Corolla T is having the springs done on Tuesday, in the end i opted for the TTE springs, but was able to negotiate a price reduction of 10% on parts and a saving on labour to, in the end i was convinced it was worht the extra to maintain the warranty, as it could cost a lot in the event of some missfortune, also have spoken with the insurance and as it its Toyota parts it is considered an upgrade and not a modification, so good news there. As to the perfomance of after market springs over OME well yes there may be a slight improvement but Toyota would have us believe that they have done greater r&d with their product. :) so a little extra expense now may save a lot later, and looking at your figures we are not talking a huge amount anyway, with a little haggling i'm sure you could get a bit of discount from your Toyota garage. Not sure if this helps is only my opinion after all
  14. Hi Gazza, I understand where your coming from mate, I had a Focus ST170 for a short while (41 days) prior to getting my Tsport ( my 3rd Corolla), so i know a thing or two about poor quality, but lets see how many issues are posted here before we decide our beloved Corollas' are lemons, or that the cause of the faults are becuase the cars british built. As I said this is my 3rd and have had no quality issues myself. I only have the dimming lights if i try to close my windows when they are in the closed position, not something i do very often,
  15. My TTE springs, front spoiler, and special side skirts are now all at JCT Hull, and ready to be fitted, hopefully this can been done next week, many thanks to Steve at JCT, with out his deterination I would not be this close to having the work done, it's refreshing to meet some one these days who is prepared to go that extra mile to get the job done. Will post pics as soon as i get the car done. It's my birthday next week may this will by my present to myself, fingers crossed. :D
  16. Miss T has a way with words that has me wondering what does she mean really !!! ;) ;) :P ;) ;)

  19. Hi SP, cheers for the background info on TTE i didn't know that, but i always preffer to go with manufactures approved parts, makes sense in the long run, and less hassle when you come to sell the car. :D
  20. Hi Bobby, thats what we all want to know, I have the money waiting, just hoping JB will have more info soon :D
  21. Hi Bobby, JB's the guy for this should have more info soon http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/viewthr...ad.php?tid=1070
  22. it's all to do with warranty's, you fit another make of springs and Toyota will void the warrenty of all associated parts and fittings, coils bushes etc, thats not a dealer thing it's the manufactures.
