  1. my pleasure mate...there are toyota offical repair manuals... a two volume set...almost 3000 pages.....plus the repair manual for mechanics...about 200 pages...the C64 Manual transaxle repair manual..about another 200 pages...the electrical wiring diagram supplement...about 420 pages...and some more.... there is a lot to learn about the cts....and the 2zz-ge....some stuff is really...well different.....a friend of mine and myself changed a crank in one a couple of weeks back and re-assembling the engine i found out that some stuff is well, interesting to say the least....especially the timing aspect (and timing 'marks' on respective pulleys) i.m.h.o :) alright Godwin -you not been on for a while, hope all is well. how come you've been rebuilding the 2zz? Mike all fine this end Mike thanks, hope this message finds you well as well.......Jap Celica imported to the UK and subsequently locally bought (Malta)... 2 folks drove it (tried) from the UK to Italy/Sicily/Malta......no oil.....crank gone (thankfully only).....it sat at my friend's garage for some time ...new crank...engine re-assembled (not actually rebuilt) with new crank....
  2. :D a very long time i would guess, scanning as well as behind bars :D i managed to buy the stuff off toyota locally because, guess what..... there is only one TS on the island of Malta (mine) ....at least thats my impression (there may be another one on our sister island, but I am not too sure about that either) ....which makes local team meets always a 100% success :D

  4. Thanks for your reply..I actually used a scan tool myself (generic OBD II) and there are no errors listed ...the speed sensors can be also be a potential problem source. Battery disconnected for about 30 mins..re-connected....problem surfaced once more (only) since...i'll see if it crops up once again... I bought Corolla Repair Manuals VOL 1 (RM925E1) and VOL 2 (RM925E2) from Mr T himself (locally) thanks once again kindest regards godwin Godwin, how much were these manuals? and what did they cover? Hi They cost me around Eur 400 ( They are used by the Toyota Mechanics themselves to diagnose and repair all kinds of problems on the corolla..you name it its there, incuding step by step procedures, symptom tables, wiring diagrams, error codes, senor locations, circuits, exploded views/diagrams etc. etc....both around 1500 pages.... btw, on the subject of the ABS+VSC+TRC lights coming on...done quite some extensive testing today and yesterday, slow braking, heavy braking, downhill, uphill etc. etc...i got the error twice but still cannot replicate at will although i reckon it *may* be occuring where braking is applied and engine is in gear and there is a road dislevel of sorts.....amplified by a recent change to 215x17x45 alloys/tires... i do not think there is a fault yet (although still possible).....i hope i can replicate the problem cos its driving me nuts... thanks...any suggestions more than welcome... kindest regards godwin

  6. I am experiencing a problem on my 2003 TSport Normal starting procedure sees the ABS TRC and VSC lights on for the normal 3 seconds then off.....However, after driving for a while, they light (all three) up. This does not happen after any particular event, say heavy breaking or heavy cornedring.... Has anyone experienced this ? ABS works until the lights come on... same applies to TRC ....so does VSC it seems...... The repair manuals hints at either a range of problems ranging from the numerous ABS / TRC / VSC supporting sensors and or systems to simply a steering wheel / wheels misalignment after battery disconnection. These 3 sub-systems share a number of supporting elements and frequently have direct / undirect effects on each other. Any one experienced similar issues ? Thanks!
  7. Check under the seat as there electrical connections underneath and see if they are connected. As GT4 BOOSTER has said, its part of the seat belt pre tension system. thanks!!

  10. Dear all, I was wondering whether anyone could help me with this... My friend has just bought a Toyota HiLux Pickup, 1997 2.4l Diesel We had to remove the driver seat to fit a GPS control unit. For some strange reason the air bag light is now constantly flashing.... We are sure that now wiring has been touched or tampered with. We have disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and reconnected to no avail...error is still there. An way how to rectify / reset this ? Any suggestions welcome.. Thanks for all Kindest regards Godwin
  11. Hi there, No...not yet.... I am not too sure really whether I should actually replace stock one. Apologies for not being of any help....If i remove it I will put some pictures up however no worries. thanks
  12. Agreed. I have an Autobilismo review (highly respected magazine in italy/malta) which lists the test 0-100 km time to 7.37 (agains the claimed 8.4). Another magazine, Auto, lists the tested 0-100 time to 7.15.
  13. cheers mate....seems there are only 2 locally.....1 in malta and one in gozo.......i stand to be corrected however just moved on from a starlet turbo i will email one of these days.... thanks for all thanks mate!!!... the gap on mine is minute, but i want to find how to fix it if it becomes a problem... cheers once again!

  15. Dear friends, I was wondering whether anyone can give me a helping hand....I recently bought an 03 Rolla TS which I am extremely happy with. I was wondering whether anyone has pics on how bad (or good) the radio on their TS fits (dash / radio fit problem)....so I can compare whether mine is ok or not....It seems there may be different tolerances with respect to acceptable gaps ... Secondly, is there a fix, and perhaps procedure, one can do on his own in this respect... Another question I have is with respect to the first service....At what mileage should the very first services (oil / oil filter / fuel filter) be affected.... Thanks ! Kindest regards to all Godwin
