  1. Ahhh ok, glad it was nothing to worry about! Cheers for the info. All the best.
  2. Did you not have an issue then Jon? I’m intrigued!
  3. Just been looking on eBay. Think these are for the KD engine. Will maybe try cleaning the old ones first though, before spending £123! Do you know why 2 are used on this engine? Cheers.
  4. Thanks Jay, appreciate the advice. I did try injector cleaner a while back when it did it. It always gets Shell V-Power now and has had for months. It’s just so random when it does it, but does seem to be more frequent now. Thanks again. 👍
  5. Any ideas why it would only do this on cold day’s (near to freezing)? Cheers
  6. Hi all, Been trying to find out what exactly could cause this fault code - ‘Fuel Pump System Malfunction (Short)’. Hesitation on accelerating, but only in cold weather & when engine is cold? Changed air & fuel filter. I just got Techstream off eBay, but don’t really know how to use it properly yet. Here is a pic. Could it be the SCV’s I keep reading about or maybe a wiring fault? It’s fine when engine is warm. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  7. Hello everyone, I wanted to change the timing belt on my 2003 lc3 d4d. I took the cover off to have a quick look and it seems fairly straightforward, the only thing is, i couldn't see a way to compress the auto tensioner to slacken the belt off. Is there a special tool for this job or am i missing something? I have been searching for a workshop manual for this model, but so far have had no luck. They all seem to be for older models or petrol engines. Thanks in advance for your help. Paul
  8. TURNS OUT IT WAS A WIRING PROBLEM IN THE TOWING SOCKET, THIS WAS CHANGED AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED!
  9. HI ALL. I HAVE A 2003 LC3 D4D LANDCRUISER. RECENTLY THE REAR FOG LAMPS HAVE STOPPED WORKING, I HAVE CHECKED THE BULBS, FUSE AND THE SWITCH, ALL OK. THE LIGHT COMES ON ON THE DASH TOO. IS THERE A RELAY SOMEWHERE IN THE EQUATION? ANY IDEAS? THANKS IN ADVANCE PAUL
  10. I have a 2000 x-reg yaris that refuses to lock with the key button. I have 2 keys and they are both the same. Batteries have been changed but no difference. The car unlocks no problem and the small red light on the key flashes, but when you attempt to lock the car the light does not flash and nothing happens. Its the same on both keys so i don't think these are the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Paul
  11. Thanks for the info Beagh, I will look into this further when I change the cambelt next year. Will wait until the weather warms up a little first though!
  12. Dear Beagh1958, I've not done anything with my engine yet as i've not been 100% sure what the exact problem is . This sounds as though it could be it, but why does it only do it at a certain rev range? My engine has done around 70,000 but I have no service history to check. Do you know how often these should be checked and what the clearence tolerences are? I assume the exhaust valves will be set to a greater clearence to the inlets? I have never worked on this type of valve gear before so am a little unsure as to what happens. Can you make your own shims to correct the clearences or do
  13. Hiya JasXPear , you will have to keep us posted as to what happens. Hope the injectors cure it for you but don't get your hopes up too much!
  14. Hello again, thanks for the reply DragonCruiser, mine seems to keep going so will leave well enough alone (still annoying though)! Better luck to you in the future. Cheers.
