  1. Glad you got your money back. The GOV website for MOT history is your best friend when it come to checking for corrosion and other faults. My one previous owner black 3 door has 107k on the clock, yet is great condition underneath. It’s all a bit of a lottery finding a good one . Mine came from here…… https://www.jrscars.co.uk/used/cars/
  2. Did you reject this vehicle within the 30 days, as per trading standards regulations ?
  3. catalytic converter is in the manifold downpipe 👍🏻
  4. I had the same problem the other day ..button came off with the mat ! With a bit of patients and a couple of screwdrivers I prised the two bits apart . Then I lifted up the carpet…super glued the bit that going underneath…then press the top part on..again bit of super glue, now like new . As you say it’s not a screw thread the top part, the little claws that lock it together need to be teased apart…very fiddly but it can be done 👍🏻👍🏻
  5. The MMT is a robotic manual gearbox with electronics to make it auto shift . It still has a clutch inside maybe it’s started slipping . Maybe new clutch and get the electronic shift recalibrated . Will be a Toyota dealer job only .
  6. The Aygo Cat is part of the exhaust manifold, so very unlikely to be stolen by jacking the car up like a Prius.
  7. The inner lens surface was bit like when the inside of a windscreen gets really dirty, just used t cut and they come up really well . The Lens put up quite a fight to get off....it’s just judging how warm to heat them without becoming a pile of melted plastic 😉
  8. Done a few jobs on our 2006 Aygo sport today , O/S indicator not working so stripped the switch down (and that was a new switch 5 years ago !! ). Then fitted a 2009 Toyota Auris wiper switch that have variable intermittent wiper, then removed front fog lamps and cleaned lenses. Had to warm up the lens with a heat gun to soften the sealer, all went to plan and pleased with the results 😎
  9. Thanks guys, think I’m having too much time on my hands during lockdown !
  10. That what I’ve come to love about the 4.2 Rav4, it can have a few miles under its belt yet still be in good condition ......106K, one owner , full history 😎 Also added a B9010 satnav unit from an Avensis .
  11. Overhauled the brakes and rear shocks ....
  12. Using a breaker bar and a short socket the tensioner can be slackened but as said...it has a very very strong spring and took all my efforts when I replace my Rav4 belt 😳😳 .
  13. As the belt has broken, now is a good time to spine the other pulley’s to see if any have seized up causing the snapped belt. The belt could have just broken through age but that is unlikely. The engine is chain driven not belt driven . The serpentine belt goes around , water pump, power steering pump, alternator and idler...they all need to be checked that they spin freely.
  14. Had a few Lexus models over that last few years and enjoyed them but the draw back to 3 door Rav4 became stronger this year, and have purchased the last of the line Oct 2005 XT-R in an automatic. First time owning a black vehicle ..lucky I like cleaning and polishing 😎
  15. This is the toyota genuine item, I feel mine is a little stronger :) .
