  2. hi thanks for your reply i have thought about the altenator, but i don't want to do anything to the car that i can't transfer over to a new car, as the one i have right now might not be around for long. ill think about the bigger battery and power caps, dont really know how much they will help, or how many ill need and what to connect them too thought
  3. Hi i have been given a great deal for 2 7" monitors and a dvd palyer to fit into my corolla, which i am looking to take up. However, im currently running 2 12" subs, and that alone when being turned up a bit makes my headlights and the interior light both dim... im concerned that if i put in a dvd player and 2 monitors then things will get worse... and headlights that are too dim aren't good... obviously if this is going to be a problem, i would appreciate some advice as to what i can do to fix this... i.e. relay kits or power capacitors linked to my subs etc. thanks a lot sandeep
  4. i thought it would be hard with my y-reg rolla, bt its really very easy... everything either pulls out or u remove a screw or two... don't know if its exactly the same but i can help a bit if you need it :D pm me if you need ne help
  5. go to caraudiosecurity.com - they have a lot of alpine head units for around 110 that are exceptionally good, don't need to take the time to explain the quality of alpine :D
  6. Hi I have a Y-reg corolla, and i want to replace the front factory fitted speakers with ones that i bought a while ago. it seemed that i needed to remove the panel, and i went about it with fair ease, until i got to the top side of the panel. Its attached to the door with the handle and the little bit that pops up when the car door unlocks blocking it from coming out. The panel appears to be in two bits, as there is a line going horizontally across the middle of the panel, and so when i went about trying to remove it, but found that they are joined. Does anyone know if there is an easy way of removing the panel, or if there is an easier way of replacing the front speakers. Any help would be appreciated. Also, i want to connect the speakers to a new amp that i have bought, just wondering exactly how this is done as well... what i need to get, and do etc. thanks sandeep

  9. one last thing, sorry... u say i need a toyota wiring harness, and i looked on car audio security for it and they say that its not recommended to have it if im going to use an amplified speaker system... i want to get the head unit installed, and have a sub and amp and new speakers all connected. Im planning on letting the speakers power from the head unit, and the sub from the amp, but as the sub is a speaker... i was just wondering if there won't be any problems with using the toyota wiring harness with the sub and amp if you can let me know that would be great thanks very much sandeep
  10. thanks a lot m8... thread was a couple of pages in, but i found the pics u posted, and a guide someone else made... thanks a lot sandeep
  11. hi i have a y-reg toyota corolla 1.4 vvti, one with the stereo mounted onto the top of the sloping dashboard. I want to replace it with a normal head unit, but i went to halfords and was told that they didnt have and couldn't order any sort of housing/fascia that would be able to hold a new head unit in place of the old one. does anyone have any ideas as to how i can replace the head unit i have right now with a new sony one im lookin to buy? thanks sandeep
  12. hi, i have a Y-reg toyota corolla vvt-i 1.4.. its one where the head unit has been mounted on to the top of the dashboard... the current unit is strange, as the main controls for the unit are at the top, but the casette player is under all of the controls for the A/C etc. i want to try and fit a normal sony head unit into the car, but i was told from halfords that i would need to go to toyota to see if the current stereo is replaceable.. really want to replace it so i can fit the car with a subwoofer and new speakers. if anyone can help me work out exactly what i need to do to replace the current stereo, it would be much appreciated sandeep
