  1. Starting doesn't seem so much of a problem lately maybe it's due to the warmer weather? What I did do was I used some diesel additive "Diesel Rhino", since then things have improved, so not sure if it is the additive or the warmer weather. I was told that modern diesel has a lot less lubrication because of the reduction in sulphur and this can cause problems with these svc valves. The short glow light period seems a common complaint on the D4D and more than likely is to do with ambient temperature.
  2. Thanks. What component controls the glow plug timing?
  3. I am having trouble when starting my Auris D4D 2 Litre when it's cold engine fires for a few second and then stops and gives out a puff of white smoke through the exhaust. After researching this problem it appears that the svc valve is the most likely culprit. What I have noticed is that the dashboard glow plug light only comes on for about half a second, is this normal? The upgraded svc valve together with the software update is very expensive and I am not sure if this is worth the outlay because the car is so old. I have been offered a new svc valve although it is the old type the same
  4. Thanks, any tips for removing this if they are held on with automotive tape?
  5. How do you remove the black plastic trim on the top of the rear bumper? Toyota Auris 2007
  6. Thank you for that great information ☺️
  7. I need to replace the glove box door (upper) on my 2007 Auris. Is this an easy job and if so what work is required?
  8. Thanks. Can they program and cut the new key from the spare key?
  9. I have lost my key for my 2007 Auris, luckily I have a spare key but I would like to have a spare ket. Looking at previous post it looks like Toyota will charge £200+ for a replacement key. Are there any cheaper option to get a replacement key?
  10. In the end I decided to go with Motul 8100 Eco-Nergy 5W-30 Fully Synthetic. Excellent reviews and matched the Toyota (without DPF) specifications.
  11. I am looking to do an oil change on my 2007 Auris 2.0 Litre D4D (fitted without a DPF). Checking the owners manual it recommends an oil with a specification of ACEA B1 and API CF4 or CF. Looking at the specifications of most oils currently on the market they have a low saps rating and most have an ACEA C+ rating, which I believe are for vehicles fitted with a DPF. Would it be beneficial to use one of these low saps oils, because of all of the engine carbon build up problems that plagues the Auris D4D model? If not, is this oil any good http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-84114-fuchs-titan-supersy
  12. Cheers Frosty, what year and model Yaris do you have?
  13. Is the 50mm the outside diameter of the cap? The diameter on the reservoir inlet is around 44-45mm on the Auris. I have tried Toyota and it's priced at around £25 just for the cap, if all else fails I will have to go down this route..
  14. Please could someone measure the diameter of their brake fluid cap (reservoir tank inlet side)? I lost mine yesterday off my Auris and I am finding difficulty in finding another, there are however plenty around for Yaris's and they look very similar on photos. Photo added to the one that was fitted to my Auris.
  15. Looks like there are two different type of rear wiper arms fitted to the early Auris's.
