  1. Thanks for the link for the Denso Lambda sensors! I think that is going to be my next purchase to try and fix my broken car. Cheers
  2. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me? I have spent about 2 months trying to figure out some problems i'm having with my Celica, but to no avail. Anyway, i shall explain. I got the car put on a computer and it pulled up codes P0171 (System too lean bank 1) P0113 (Intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit) P0100 (Mass or volume air flow a circuit) So far I have done the following: - Serviced New MAF New spark plugs New air filter Injector cleaner Visual inspection of vacuum hoses (not sure I would of spotted anything myself though..) Cleaned throttle body with carb cleaner The malfunction light is on. If it is taken off it comes back on pretty quick. From a cold start the car idles up and down then starts to dip lower and lower till the car shakes tremendously and on one occasion stalled. After a couple of minutes it sorts itself out a bit. If I try and drive the car away before I let it sort itself out I basically have no control over the power and its jerks around like a wounded shark. Even after its warmed up I can still feel problems. Its 'severely' down on power since this problem has started. Also, if I sit at a constant speed with accerator held steady I can feel the car slowing and speeding up of its own accord. I really desperately want to get my car fixed as I love it and i'll never get rid of it. I just am running out of money to throw at it and still have several expensive suggestions to try out. I would be eternally grateful if anyone could give me their thoughts on this? And I don't post this question lightly, I have been to 2 garages, searched the web for months, and piled about £600 into getting mechanics to try stuff so far. Things I still havent done or have seen suggested around the net: - Pre-cat Lambda (although most people say they did this first and it didnt fix anything) 4 new Coils (a few people have mentioned this) I hope I have explained this pretty well (i didnt know a single thing about cars until I started looking into this issue and trying to learn how things work) Regards Will Celica Gen 7 ZZT230 Engine - 11ZFE
  3. Well, in the end i've ordered these. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=380188519367 Just for everyones info you can make these ones UK road legal. I contacted the seller and they said you can open em up and rotate the projector 180 degrees and also adjust them horizontally which makes them road legal. They also reckon theres been no import tax on stuff they've sold since 2002 so fingers crossed I wont get stung in that department but i'll reserve my judgement on that till they come through.
  4. Cool thanks for your replies! I'll look into HIDs etc too. Whats the Warranty return tactic?
  5. One of the sets of lights says that they can be adjusted vertically AND horizontally? Would that not fix the problem? i.e. Adjusting them to point to the left instead of the right?
  6. Ahh... I'll not bother then. Are there any UK places that make Gen 7 lights that aren't totally poo that anyones heard of? Seems like only the Yanks bother making interesting lights for Gen 7's? Gutted.....
  7. Has anyone got any of these lights? Especially the first set? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-05-TOYOT...sQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-2005-T...sQ5fAccessories Does anyone know if these headlights would be road legal? I asked the sellers on ebay but they are not willing to commit themselves to an answer.... The only problem I could see would be that they are pointed slightly in the wrong direction due to Yanks driving on the "wrong" side of the road? Any thoughts anyone? If not I might just take a punt and get some anyway. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have. Will

    My Celica

My first car. I love it it's awesome. Hopefully I won't pile it into a tree.
  9. That is wonderful news. I'll be honest I'd love to put 19's on. I saw a picture of a black Gen 6 with black 19's on but couldn't find anywhere that said whether serious modification was required to accomplish this. My plan to create my dream car is now firmly set in stone. Thanks for your reply I really appreciate it.
  10. Hi everyone, I've had a look through the forum but couldn't find an answer to this. Does anyone know what size alloys you can go up to on a Celica? Is 18" the maximum without needing to modify anything else on the car? Sorry if this has been answered somewhere I have scoured Google etc.. Thanks!
  11. I'm actually 25. I've never actually needed a car or been in a position to afford one really. I have got quotes for 1700 (with a £700 excess) fully comp and 1200 (£250 excess) 3rd Party. I will only be driving it for fun at the weekend so figure getting 3rd Party and building up a years no claims makes sense before I go fully comp. The car will only be worth about £3000 anyway so with a £750 excess fully comp doesn't make sense to me just yet. What do you think?
  12. I am going to get a 2000/2001 ish Gen 6 Celica. Basically something relatively cheap that still has the new style body. I wont be using it to go to work or anything as I get a lift. It will literally be for fun and taking my girlfriend out at the weekends :) So reliability isn't an issue for me. I just want to love the car I buy instead of being sensible if you get me? :)
  13. Just thought I would say hi. I feel like a bit of a fraud as I dont have a car yet. Just passed my test and i'm buying a Celica. Wooooo!!!!! I love them so much sometimes it makes me cry a little bit.. ;-P Anyway, hi everyone :-)
